We did this hike 11/12/18 If you are coming from the south, (Cottage Grove side) Rd. 1751 is closed due to a landslide about 2 miles before the trailhead, you can park at the road closure and hike the road up to the trailhead. This turns the hike into an almost 7 1/2 miler. If you want to stay with just hiking the Mt. June trail itself, I would come in from the north side.

I took the kids and the dog here today.
It was extremely eventful. We ended up throwing out both of their clothes after they were covered in sticker type seeds. I also stepped in poop after picking up after my dog. and they also slid into the pond and filled their boots with pond water. smh.
The trail is especially beautiful in fall. i love it there.

The trail itself is beautiful, short and steep enough to be considered a workout. The view at the top is beautiful, even on a partly cloudy day. It is pretty hard to get to the trailhead, convoluted in the end and a total lack of markers. If you don’t use your trip odometer in the truck or car, I doubt you will find it. The road was rough and you really needed AWD for the last couple miles. Beautiful view!

It was a decent hike. It was only 1.8 miles instead of 2.8. Not sure where the extra mile went! :P

Great walking trail with kids! The ducks were a plus and the toddler loved it!!

beautiful trail through old growth forest with an amazing view at the summit.

I didn’t actually do this complete shorter trail, but the views at the summit are amazing! One of the best hike views I’ve seen. There is a longer trail you can do but I do not recommend it unless you’re with someone who has done it before. It is not marked at all until one point and it is extremely easy to miss that sign! We missed it and ended up hiking 5+ extra miles that day. I’d stick to this shorter one and it is absolutely worth the incline!

Nice lil uphill challenge. Great views!

Not much actual path to follow and some transient company. No clear markings and difficult to tell where the path is. Great for someone who wants to go on adventure and doesn’t care if there’s an actual path. Also has access to the river or at least a creek water.

This is an easy and leisurely path for people of all skill levels. There are good views of the creek and the river. It's an easy little excursion if you live around Eugene or Cottage Grove and need to get a little fresh air.

Beautiful little loop

For a moment away from the city and yet in the city...this is the place! We like to bike this trail in late May/June when the ponds are hopping with life. There's so many places to take a moment and enjoy the life around yoh!!

Damn, what a bushwhack through! We literally cleared a new trail from the main one. The main trail leads to a small pooled area, not the greatest to hang out at. We did find a spot closer to the rivers mouth, but it wasn't a hike we'd subject someone to.

Great view!! 15 mile drive up windy road. Short and steep hike.

Amazing hike just went end of june great hike made it up in an impala, but would suggest a 4x4 due to pit holes!

PLEASE KEEP YOUR DOG ON A LEASH! Sign at trail head clearly states to keep dogs on a leash and every dog I saw was off leash! My dog doesn’t like others (she’s a rescue and had a hard life before me) and I had a few dogs come up to her without an owner in sight!! It’s bad trail manners and could get you’re beloved friend and possibly yourself hurt. Left irritated. To report a dogs off leash call: 541 687-4060

5 stars for the view at the top! I didn’t actually hike all of the 2.8 miles track as we opted for the longer 7+ miles hike. I don’t recommend the longer one unless you’re with somebody who’s done it before. The trailhead is not marked and there was a sign along the way that was almost impossible to see on your way up and we ended up hiking 5+ miles in the wrong direction. But the actual Mount June summit is absolutely gorgeous!

We like Baldy as a quickie hike when time is at a minimum.

Really well maintained trail! Nice drive up - follow directions carefully and set your odometer to find the last access road 1721. (small triangle of road on the left when approaching) Some light hail, cloudy day so no view for us, but still worth it! Great exercise - suggest poles and/or walking stick because this trail is s t e e p!

We had a some rain, hail, snow, and splash of sunshine. A nice short adventure in the mountains for my birthday

Very short hike with 2 ways to the top. Left side is more steep and direct. If you take the right pathway it is less of an incline. It is shorter and a 20 minute hike total. At the top is 1 good view but this hike should be a pit stop not a day hike.

Not too many people on a Saturday in May. These trails are very easy and wander near river and thru some dense forest. There were several people on horseback so keep your eyes peeled for them and their piles....

Not a very good hike at all. Was good weather, view was good at the top, however the “top” is like 10 minutes from the trailhead. Boring on the way down, and saw lots of houses along the way..

great walking trail and easily accessible in the middle of the city.

Really great! Beautiful scenery. Only thing is that it gets really muddy when it rains. Great place for bikejoring. You can train your dogs without other people being distracting. Long trails for the dogs to run.

Walked this trail with an almost 3-year-old, 7, and 11 yo. A really easy, mildly steep, but quick hike that leads to truly beautiful views on both sides. A great family-friendly hike with a view deserves a 5!

This spot has huge potential. It is a lane county fee driven trail, but hasn't had much love as I can tell. It felt very bum campy and I ran across several encampments and belongings strewn through the underbrush. If a little more time and money was put into it and normal maintenance was done, this could be a nice quiet spot on the river.

Hi! There is good river access and it’s a good hike for young kids. It’s a little muddy still at the beginning of March, but fun to see horses on the trail. (Noah, 9)
