Perfect for dogs. Great for swimming with dogs. Came on a sunny Saturday in July and there were places where there were no people along the shore and we could swim without having to worry about our dogs disturbing other people and dogs. Excellent

This was a nice short hike with just enough incline to work up a good sweat on a warm morning. Nice views of a pond and the rolling hills. Also ran into some wildlife such as cows (of course), rabbits, squirrels, and even a coyote! The coyote didn’t bother us though as it was munching on a squirrel as we passed by.

One of the best views of the city! This tiny hike is definitely worth it if you are in the area. If possible, ascend on the west side of the hill and keep your head down until you breach the top crest. The view of the bay and city is very striking framed in the red/brown rocks.

Beautiful place. I had to tell my girls don’t give up to get to the top of the hill. Once there it opened up and was beautiful. We saw a coyote, two eagles, tons of rabbits and squirrels. Great place to take the kids

Did this one before the other two trails and didn't hit the go button on the GPS at the beginning. I started left and it's at least a 1/2 mile hill and then just down the rest of the time. The big surprise for this area was a nice little pond with quite a few trees. This was the best of the 3 trails here for me but all would have been better in the spring or winter.

Only did part.... closed. My lab had a torn pad so we left.

Easy walk down to the beach. You can book to camp there too. Finding parking on top was a pain since there’s very limited space. There was no swing when I went.

Nice trail... You have to go through a gate at the back of Round Valley. I came across an old homestead back there as well.

The most amazing views! Walking down is the easy part because it’s all downhill but going back up is a little more challenging! I would definitely recommend this to everyone.

best done in spring when the creeks are flowing freely

Great view of the bridge and water access. Highly recommend

I love this trail! Would be a five star except it has a lot of people on it. Lots of trail runners that come right up on from behind you without any warning. Lots of fitness types on the trail. I expected it would be crowded because it is free to park and nearby Brentwood. Wouldn't mind the people so much, but there were some really loud talkers!

The trail is nice and wide in most spots. I saw lots of turkeys both Toms roosting, and hens with the babies. They should rename it to Turkey Hill as there are a lot of them here! Very beautiful scenery to soak up.

Take water with you - there is some shade, but not in a lot of places.. Hold your nose in the toilet. I like the trail and will be back in the winter when the hills are green again.

I went counterclockwise so the ascent was really that abrupt than the clockwise path. It was my first time but I'll do it again someday.

Great views, and wild fennel all along the trail. Smells amazing! Pretty easy hike!

Nice hike with lots of intermittent shade for a reprieve from the sun. Lots of gradual up and down as opposed to straight up. Pretty views. Great hike for a beginner like me.

great for some easy mountain biking

I had a very good time. Enjoyed the nature very relaxing and the best part is that I could take my dog.

Beautiful views, definitely good to bring lots of water and trekking poles for the hike back up the mountain. Another good thing to know is that this trail is highly trafficked. Be prepared for people running at you when there is nowhere to go

Awesome trail with great views and wild life encounters. Off leash dogs allowed.
Will come back.

Backpacking Day 3 of 3 Mt. Diablo Range. Morgan Backpack Camp (Morgan Territory) to Round Valley Equestrian Center (Marsh Creek).

Enjoyed this hike with my two kids (ages 10 and 9). It’s a short, easy trail but with several large rocks to climb and sit on to get a great view of the city. Was moderately trafficked. Found this to be a good hike for both my son with disabilities (who needs assistance with trickier trails) and his brother who is very active and adventurous.

no dogs on nature trail will always get a low rating for me...its outside people

Excellent for dog adventurers as dogs are allowed off leash! Be aware there are cattle present, as well as HUGE predatory birds (which were AMAZING and took my breath away).
We went with 3 adults and 5 dogs varying in size and it was fantastic! Excellent for wildflower seeing. Go when it's lush and green (I went April 10th), I'd imagine it might not be as fun in August. We went on a Tuesday around morning/afternoon and there were very few people there.
Also, we went off trail by accident and ended up hiking up some hills that were, uh....phew! Not sure if the actual trail is as strenuous, but what we hiked was more of a moderate level for sure.

Nice little hike. I went when the hills were green. Pretty little lake there. Had to navigate around a cow on the trail

Very scenic, you will not be disappointed! I love that I can bring my dog with me up there. I would bring a lunch and sit by the edge to enjoy the view for a few minutes before my trek back down. Bring good hiking shoes for grips....the path vary from smooth to rocky and uneven.
