Couldn’t ask for a more beautiful day! This easy walk/hike offers surprises around the very turn. Filled with magic, mystery, and breathtaking views it’s a place to visit!

Beautiful falls and pools that are set in a picturesque valley, surrounded by majestic mountains of luminous green. The path follows the stream, and in a couple of spaces there are a few rocks to hop, all well worth the journey.

My husband and I were in Scotland for our 20th anniversary and wanted a fairly easy hike. This fit the bill. It was beautiful even with the crowd. We were there in October so it was busy but not overwhelmingly so. I can imagine it would be packed in other months.

Amazing. This is very challenging, but doable with children. Did with wife and 9 & 12 year olds on a sunny calm day. Would hate to try in rain. Once at top head to rock formation (7-8 minute walk) for 360 panoramic view.

One of the most beautiful place on earth...

Wish for good whether but one of the best spot on Isle of Skye, magical

I asked our hotel clerk - tell me about walking here in Scotland. He looked puzzled. I clarified - you drive on the left... “Oh! he says, yeah, there are no rules. It’s a madhouse. Everyone for themselves.” If you don’t mind the rugby scrum of narrow pavement (sidewalks) with thousands of tourons (tourists + morons) then maybe you’ll enjoy the Royal Mile. The old architecture IS interesting, just too many people for my taste.

Breathtaking scenery and fabulous views. It wasn’t to crowded when we arrived but it was early on Sunday morning. It was getting busier when left a couple of hours later.

Somewhat steep trail with amazing views the entire way up. As with most popular trails, it does get crowded, so get there early. Also, “early” is not that early on Skye. We arrived at about 8:30 am and were some of the first people on the trail.

Amazing views for the entire trail. Remote location, but it is worth it.

Oh. My. God.
The most beautiful hike I have ever been on.

Unfortunately the Fairy Pools were a case of expectation vs reality. the photoshopped pictures online are not what you're likely to see. Photos on this page are accurate. Admittedly the water is a cool color. Crowded trail with people crawling all over the creek and obstructing views. --I think that's what no one tells you is that you have to climb down into the creek to get the best shots you see online.
It is scenic because it is Scotland, but is not in my top 5 hikes on the Isle of Skye.

Fantastic views all around. The path is muddy and can be slippery so use caution.

Great hike even if the weather wasn't so nice with us (rain and strong wind). But the view is worth the effort !
We made it with two little childs of 6 and 3 years old !
The path is fine and different ways can be taken.

Amazing views everywhere you look. Well worth doing this hike!

A steep climb leads to spectacular views in all directions. This place is famous for good reason.

This is an incredibly special place. Not much of a hike. More of a pleasant and dramatic glen to explore. Please respect the peace and sanctity of the area, and listen for the fairies.

A nice, open walk with great views of the unique geological formations. The climb can be strenuous in parts and the trip to the old man takes about an hour in each direction.
The only downside is it can be quite crowded.

Great hike. Recommend ccw loop. Starting out CW is very steep climb!

The surrounding mountains are impossible to appreciate in photos. The hike itself is easy, but usually wet. Lots of tourists but early morning is the best time of day to go if you dress warm.

Fantastic views. The trail is not difficult, but due to wet ground, rain, wind, and generally cold conditions it becomes more difficult. Personally that made it more rewarding and enjoyable however. I wore trail shoes, but would recommend your hiking boots as you will be slogging through some muck after the halfway point. Warm clothes and rain gear are a necessity.

Finishes with one of the best views I have ever seen.

A good trail leads up to this pretty valley up away from the crowds of Glen Coe. Be warned this is very much a mountain environment - too many appear up here with out map/compass and in inappropriate foot wear. If it rains the trail is much harder to follow: the rocks and river can become quite treacherous.

Easy but wear waterproof hiking boots. My 5 year old had no problem doing this. Gorgeous views!

It’s a steep and wet climb up to the ridge, but views are spectacular. We saw a beautiful golden eagle close up “thermaling” round us off the escarpment for ages, as well as plenty other raptors. If you have time, look for the climb up to the Table on the return. We an out of time and will go back just for that today.
