Easy Waterfall Hikes Map

Nice trail with good scenery.

I hiked this in winter. The water falls are so beautiful. The trails are perfect. We did the entire 4.6 mile look and stopped halfway at a picnic area to have a snack. If it is this pretty in the winter, I cant wait to come back in the spring. Oh, the rim trail was open, the gorge trail was not (due to ice) but the view we had were still spectacular!

Nice and easy hike. Very icy. Micro spikes made it a breeze.

Beautiful — easy and quick for a brief getaway

Easy trail with no technical parts, wide open and simple to follow. Went in January and was still in good condition and easily hikeable until we got to the lake where it was icy.

Was worried that the trail would be too slippery and icy with the warmer weather during our hike, but wasn't bad at all. Be prepared for lots of people and dogs, but a nice quick hike with beautiful scenery that never gets old!

Beautiful trails! I was there on 1/1/18 and the falls were gorgeous!

Easy trail with a beautiful waterfall at the end.

Loved it, truly breathtaking the rock walls are Huge! Any one w camera would love this trail I went my family, at the end of the trail you see the waterfall up close.

I do this trail every time I come to Ithaca. love this wide dirt trail easy walk to beautiful fall.
the trail at the base walks you to the lower platform but then at the top of the hill there is a scenic parking area to get the above view of the falls

This isn't really a loop. It's a down-and-back trail. There's a point where you can go down (which is where it starts to "loop") to the river, but you have to walk along the river the rest of the way, which really isn't easy. Would probably be fine in the summer in sandals when you could walk in the water. But if you're trying to keep your feet dry, I wouldn't recommend trying to do the "loop."

Checked this one out in June of 2017. And this hike doesn’t disappoint! It’s beautiful and moderately well trafficked. Great for all ages. There’s a bit of stairs along the way which are a great way to enter the trail. Awesome views of the falls and rock formations, would definitely go again.

Definitely worth the stop, but it's not a trip all in itself. Fun little trail.

Go after a few days of rainfall! Makes all the difference

This trail is quite the scramble once you get near the bigger falls. Going behind the waterfall was nice treat. Lots of people out on this trail today despite the cool weather and dark clouds. We were going walk to Lake Skaneateles but ran out of daylight due to the pending rain.

Lots of traffic on warm days , though overall a very beautiful hike . The falls are gorgeous and the trail out to the preserve pops out at Skaneateles Lake . Not a very long hike but still fairly challenging .

Beautiful hike! From the map a quick hike to the falls then back and off towards the lake where it joins the Bag at Nature preserve. Beautiful hike!

Super easy trail but definitely worth it! Very scenic. Lots of friendly dogs as well!

Easy walk to the falls. Be sure to visit the overlook as well.

nice walk with good views of the gorge walls. the waterfall at the end is also a great site to see

Beautiful hike with small amount of foot traffic. As others have noted, there is quite a steep hill to get to the falls. It can be very slippery. The falls are beautiful and worth the adventure.

Beautiful, easy trail with a gorgeous waterfall at its end. Great place to take kids and pets.

This is a very easy hike to the base of the falls. It is a direct, flat wide path and you can easily hike this trail without hiking shoes or boots. The trail is parallel to a river for its entire length. The trail is open to the sun at times and covered by trees at other points.

Things to know:

You can not actually get to the base of the falls as the trail ends at an outlook which is a safe distance from the falls and any falling rocks

Wear water shoes if possible as you can walk in the flat bed river next to the trail and the kids love this

Across the street is a state park which you can walk or drive to. There is a large playground there and places to grill and eat right on the water

Short busy trail with great views.

Easy beautiful hike. Fantastic waterfall

I had forgotten how beautiful this hike was. If you are looking for waterfalls this will definitely fit the bill. There are a lot of steps so there is a little bit of a workout. This was the third and final hike while I was down in Ithaca this past weekend, none of them disappointed. The way out on this one, going around the lake, and taking pictures on the damn on the way back down were definitely highlights. I can't wait to go camping down in Ithaca again and explore more of the area.

Amazing waterfall - goes without saying. It was extremely enjoyable for me to walk up the mostly dry bed to the waterfall. The area is so open and surrounded by tall stone on either side - it was a really cool experience. While I enjoyed the easy hike out and back, if you are looking for a photo opp I would suggest stopping at the overlook at the top.

Nice hike with nice views. Decently trafficked on the lower sections, so not the best place for a private peaceful hike.

This is a cool state park. The upper trail gives you cool views of the falls from a far, then the short lower falls trail takes you right up close. Check out my full write up which includes directions and other things to look out for.
