Easy w/ Aspen Map

on Heather Lake Trail

Snow is starting to dissipate. Recommend wearing hiking shoes for now, saw many bust it on the snow that had tennis shoes on.

I have done this trail before and loved it as much today as I did the first time. Although a Weds, the trail was busy with people and furry four-legged friends. An incredibly beautiful day. It's a great running trail for those who would like the challenge. One woman had run the trail 18 times today!

Beautiful view at the top, took an hour up & down.

Scenic Hike. Gorgeous views at the top.

Very busy during the summer. Parking can be scarce and you can be waiting in choke point in the trail for a few minutes waiting for people to pass through.

Great trail! Started hike at about 8am! Great amount of people on trail. About an hour up and hour back. After 9:30am, trail got really busy!

I was slightly confused on where the trail actually started, but it was pretty easy to follow once I oriented to the map via the app. The trails near the falls were pretty muddy, but my dog and I got to all the tiers of waterfalls easily. Very gradual gain for most of the trail which is wide and gravel. The waterfalls were very cool and a lot bigger than I anticipated. Highly recommended.

If you like rush hour traffic on the trail, this is the one for you. Considering what the Pacific Northwest has to offer in this area, the trail itself was rather boring with little to no views the entire way up. The view at the top is pretty great and the color of the lake was neat, but be prepared to shuffle through tourists as well as locals and good luck getting a spot on the cliff to take in the view (which was basically 50+ people taking selfies). You're better off going the extra clip to the very top to get away from the crowds, but even then it was pretty busy. It was good to spend a nice day outside with the great weather, but won't be doing this trail again.

Great Trail, Great View

The hike was beautiful. I am a beginner with hiking and this was my 2nd hike. It was definitely a little harder than I expected but that’s mostly because of the snow. We had to hike to the trailhead through the snow which meant falling a bit. However, it was totally worth the views!

Incredible views of Rainier at the top! Great hike, great workout, fun to see the paragliders launch at the top!

Unfortunately I did this trail on a very cloudy day. The hike up to the top was a bit strenuous for someone who isn't in great shape. Although the view was amazing it definitely would have been better on a sunny day. The trail itself was unremarkable. I doubt I'll do this one again but I am glad I did it once.

Awesome waterfall, hard to find trail at first, just go around the gate and you should be good from there!

Awesome trail. Great rewarding view at top. A little bit crowded during midday. Lots of unleashed dogs.

Nice hike through the woods, steep grade, but not too difficult. Beautiful View at the top. Well worth the effort.

Quick drive from Seattle. The view is fantastic. Expect to see at least another twenty hikers at the lookout.

Awesome place to go in winter and also in spring when it is slightly less taxing. Go there enough prepared to walk in snow for good two miles if you are going in winter or early spring. The hike experience is wonderful and worth it!

Great hike and an even better workout w/ spectacular views.

Nice and easy

Amazing trail and beautiful as well! Very icy so you have to be careful but definitely worth it.

didn't make it to the lake due to snow pack but very pretty

Very crowded. Nice hike.

Great sunset hike. Feel comfortable hiking alone as you are never really alone.

Great sunrise hike or afternoon hike. Crowded.

The majority of this hike winds pretty steeply through the forest. Definitely a steady climb most of the way but not too bad - would recommend poles. You have to go one switchback up from where the AllTrails map ends to get to the viewpoint. The view itself is gorgeous, but limited - it's really just a small break in the trees, but pretty nonetheless.

Beautiful views on the way up and at the top. It was a little snowy towards the top and I fell a few times when hiking down but no serious injuries sustained! Lol. I’ll wear hiking boots next time. Easy, fun, beautiful hike.

Amazing view. Truly amazing. Hike was steep, but pretty. The destination is definitely worth going for.

It was sunny today, but there were a lot of people on this trail for a Monday. This is about as difficult as my family can handle for now. Great view at the top.

trail was packed. quite the hike up on a hot day. nice views at the top.

Beautiful park with a lot of opportunity for quieter hiking. Mountain bikers frequent the trail, but are courteous and only hike one way! Quite a few open clearings if you push up towards the summit.

Always a good hike. Very wet for the first mile. About 3/4 way up is all packed snow, a bit slippery. We made it without micro spikes or poles, but one or both would have been very helpful. Make sure to bring proper foot ware. At the lake, the sun popped out and we were able to witness (and hear) 4 or 5 mini avalanches across the lake.
