our first time here great location very nice trail some difficulty going up on part of the trail otherwise it was easy take plenty of water we took stuff to snacks on their is also a place that makes some good bbq at the entrance to the park trail.

Easy hike with plenty of people on a November Sunday late afternoon. Dry creekbed.

Great for a short hike not to hard, but little water coming down the falls.

great trail

The waterfall is minuscule this time of year. The trail offers a lot of shade and is moderately challenging. Some parts of the trail was super narrow. You need an adventure pass to park. If you get carsick easily, beware. The road is quite windy to get to the trailhead.

Peaceful and easy beach stroll!

Hiked this on a Tuesday as a part of a long loop from the Visitors center of 12 miiles. No water in the pools but lots of scenery and views.

Great area and very pretty with some Fall colors. Popular place with lots of people. Sadly many don't know trail ettitquette, but we were impressed that there wasn't much (any) trash or grafitti for the amount of traffic. To get to the falls go past it, take the left fork to the creek and go left along the creek. Or take the right at the creek to go to Bear Canyon.

A peaceful Sunday morning hike through a colorful, boulder-strewn canyon. Lots of woodpeckers to keep us entertained! A bit of fall color on the way to the waterfall, which is very zen-like: a small trickle flowing into a reflective pool. It’s shady much of the way, so being a light jacket is you’re hiking in the morning.

nice walk

Great hike! We ended up going all the way over to the bear canyon camp ground and back! Great views and good walking trails.

Tips: bring a map and not your bicycle! There is no service anywhere and you will have to carry your bike....

First time going there. It was really a good experience. I really want to go back and probably take a different route this time. You can admire the beauty of nature and maybe the experience to see a bear!

Great hike. Gear for beginners and kids.

Miles:5.2
Elevation:750ft
Duration: 2-3 hours
Level:easy -moderate
Dogs allowed on leash
Please bring your adventure pass to park.

When you arrive to the Switzer falls sign off the highway you will see a small road near the bathrooms. Go down that small road! There is plenty of parking down at the bottom. Start at the picnic tables. You have chances for a nice clean bathroom down at the bottom when your starting your hike. Cross the bridge and start down the paved road. The road ends about 1mile in but this trail is well marked and is very easy to follow.

This is a great hike to take your kids 6 and up. The views are beautiful. There are plenty of water crossings which makes it fun for the kids.
Your in shade about 80% of the trail but there is a small part with full exposer. We had people bring trekking Poles for the water crossings. There isn’t a lot of water there right now but enough to enjoy the views. When you get to the park where there is no shade “scream Hello!” As loud as you can and you can hear your echos bounce off the mountains! That was fun! When you get down to the bottom of your switch backs there’s shade again and your almost to the waterfall.

The waterfall doesn’t have much water in it but it’s still beautiful.

It was fun! Over all a perfect sized hike for us with dogs and kids!

Have fun! stay safe! Keep your dogs on a leash! Bring enough water and snacks, and leave no trace of trash!

Beautiful & peaceful! And lunch @ the date shake shake a tasty bonus!

Easy trail to follow along. Make sure head down(left) when you get to the fork. I personally found it on the easier die but the sun is draining on a hot summer day. Not many people on the trail when I went but the heat help keep people home. Snuck up on a deer grazing on some plants on the trail. Not a lot of water in September so don't expect much when you get to the falls.

Came here at least 3 times a week over the summer with my dog. Easy trail but I love it! Once you get to the picnic area, it’s sometimes fun to go down below the bridge and walk through/along the edge of the creek until the end. Makes it slightly harder and gives a different perspective, your shoes will get wet though so come prepared.

Very nice moderate trail, very shady except for the uphill part. One of my favorites for sure.

Nice-easy hike.

Just a trickle of water at the falls but otherwise the views are spectacular of the surrounding mountains. Saw a variety of different birds, plants and trees. It was hot but most of the hike is shaded thankfully.

Do not go anytime after September! The only thing you’ll see is a trickle of water that is supposed to be a waterfall. The water is green, dirty, and gross. This hike was more about the journey than the destination at least that’s what we had to say to ourselves in order to convince ourselves that the hike wasn’t a total waste.

Easy hike for beginners. Loved the bridges that you cross along the way, would have been a perfect setting if there were water in the stream. The road up to the trail is very easy to drive through with almost no incline while driving.

Love Oak Glen Preserve. Especially beautiful in the spring. There is plenty of shade. There are some small lakes and lots of trees. There are easy trails to walk and others that are moderate so you can adjust the hike to what you want. The last time we went was the middle of August. There were some beautiful sunflowers in bloom. In the spring there are lots of different flowers. Highly recommend. Great place for the whole family.
Can get pretty hot in the summer so get there early in the day.

Great hiking trail. Cool in late August, for morning walks. Beautiful scenery, majestic mountains and lots of shade. The paths are wide and well maintained. There is steep portion going down and then back up to parking lot of Los Rios Ranch, but there is a bypass before it gets too steep. It's quiet most of the way with birds chirping and the stream running next to the trail. Raspberry abounds and trees overhanging the trail as a canopy are welcome as the sun heats the area. I recommend this as a favorite trail so far on my hiking experiences.

Beautiful views of the ocean, but also the street. Nice easy walk great for kids.

First time. Well maintained, well marked trails. Lots of shade. Nice elevation climb. Good stuff.

Took a beginner hiker and her dog and we had a blast! The hike provides great views with a couple stream crossing and at the end is a great little waterfall and pond to cool off in! Wasn’t too crowded either. Definitely recommend if you’re looking for a fun afternoon hike!

Directions to trail were incorrect so don’t follow through app. Several snakes on the trail, down trees and at one point completely overgrown trail.
Looks like it hasn’t been maintained in a while.
Looks like it might be a good trail in Spring when water is flowing and if it got some maintenance.
Had to turn around so didn’t get to the end.

Easy beautiful trail, part goes on a paved road, the other part is on the beach which is a good balance. Parking rate Mon-Fri after 5 pm - $3.
