Chis is an easy trail along the water in Lake Louise. if you are looking for something harder keep walking when you get to the other end of the lake, the trail wanders up in to the mountains. even in mid June there was snow on the trails up past the lake.

The trailhead to the canyon is bare, no crampons required until you get to the canyon creek. Slushy in some spots on the creek bed yet overall still frozen. 30 minutes from the start of the canyon to the cave. Great, easy hike on a windy day... don't forget those crampons though, others didn't have them and were slipping all over.

My first hike! Uphill one way, a nice bench for a break lol. Downhill on the way back. Took us 2 hours at a very leisurely pace. Our dog loved it!

Nice easy trail through the forest (not a lot of mountain views). No snowshoes/crampons necessary, quite a few cross country skiiers out (decent tracks on South loop only). Conditions were snowy but not icy except for the west turning point in the loop. Don't be fooled by the "viewpoint" just south of the loop - not much to see for the steep climb!

Jan 20/19 - Always a fun little hike. Trail is in great shape. Spikes are recommended for the creek portion but we managed just fine without them today. Went all the way past (to the left) the frozen falls through the canyon to a little cave. Was fun to climb up to but watch the loose dirt.

It was a great little hike with the family. Our 4.5 and 2.5 year old came along. We brought a sled and had fun with that as well. Really packed trails, this is a high traffic trail but still lots of fun. We found one troll, the kids loved it. Looking forward to do this trip in the summer as well! Jan 2019

Was packed with people and not a place for snow shoeing. My hopes were let down:( Hope the people I saw that were walking had a healthy time but again for myself I am happier with less people and using my snow shoes.

Beautiful scenery

Nice short hike, great for the kids!

Good for everyone, great practice hike. Beautiful frozen waterfalls at the moment.

For a decent walk with a foot problem it was a beautiful place and not too difficult of a rise. Good muscle ache after the icy in places hike. Jan 2019

Easy hike with moderate elevation. Great views and good walk. conditions were great

This is a very easy short hike. Did it today(January), and found that there is some trail Maintence so you easily knew where you were going. Snow cleats were very appreciated for the steeper areas. The ledge by the falls is very small and a bit icy. But so worth it.

Dog friendly trail, no traffic at all on this windy winter day. temps around 0 C, with wind close to -15. We did not make it to the falls, the last 3 in was waist deep snow and we were past the point of no return for daylight as it was. Long, moderate hike with beautiful sights of soooooo many ridges around the area. I will revisit this one when I start to think I'm in really good shape, I'm sure it will remind me I'm not!

i recommend to anyone that can manage 20+ km in a day.

Went with a friend on Jan 13/19, was a good afternoon walk/hike. Pretty falls - follow the river downstream for more beautiful views! Weather was perfect - the sun was shining and barely any snow!

I've done this hike many time! It is a great hike for everyone! Very easy and family friendly to the first waterfall. The upper falls take a bit more effort but are equally as wonderful. Lovely views, flora, and fauna to be seen!

Great for a quick little trip out of the city. Easy for kids

My first ever hike. Amazing view from the top

Very touristy but pretty nonetheless. Try and get there before the buses do.

Nothing strenuous about this little hike, just a lot of fun walking through the multiple canyon trails. Bring a camera !

If you want to get away from the crowds at the lake Louise front shoreline, take this for a little jaunt. Different perspectives of the lake, especially at the back shoreline. A loop is possible.

Easy beginner hike. Gorgeous views.

Love this area for my dog!

Best views of Moraine Lake....if you can actually get there. And I mean to the parking lot. Best idea, if you’re just there to see the lake, is to take the bus from the lake Louise overflow lot. It’s free.

Had a great time exploring this hike! Fun to walk the frozen stream if you’ve got spikes on. Can’t wait to see it in the summer.

Enjoy this trail. I have hiked it a few times. Not a lot of scenery but crisp mountain air and lots of forest.

Easy hike for a family! It was a touch icy in spots throughout . Kids had fun sliding on the icy hill parts while we skirted in the brush to stay upright. But lots of dry/bare spots too!

brisk and beautiful
