Packed snow on trail so an easy walk, didn’t need the micro spikes - some icy spots on the lower section at Potter, but can easily avoid. Beautiful views
Great winter hike, very easy.
Beautiful sunset. trail snow packed but still loose in parts
Fat biked the trail, only reason this gets a 3 is after about mile 5 on your way out it gets really Icy and had to walk the bike a good portion. Bring your micro spikes to be safe. Weather came in quick and on the way back tracks were essentially gone. Edges are super soft. I’m not a super experienced or great biker so I could just have the newbie perspective but I’m sure with less big snow flakes and ice it would’ve been perfect.
Fresh snow but tracks still solid.
While a little icy at spots, there were lots of alternative routes that made it quite manageable and overall an amazing little hike. I did it with my family including a 2 year old (who hiked the majority of it himself) in less than 20 minutes. I’d recommend spikes but they are clearly unnecessary (seeing as none of us had them:)
An incredible experience to follow the shore of this glacial fed lake. The trail was pretty easy and well marked. There are places to venture off the beaten path, especially at the end of the trail. But be warned, it gets pretty rugged.
Walk on frozen lake
Very icy def want spikes but a beautiful little walk through the woods to some pretty iced waterfalls
Great hike! Lower part of the trail was pretty packed down. Definitely wear spikes if you are going down there as parts are showing ice.
Beautiful!
Trail was packed and easy walking with spikes. Temp was -9’ at 9:30 and 2’ at 1:00.
Got dark while we were out there so opted down the easy path out. Nice trail through the trees though, many bikers but they were all well lit.
This is a beautiful trail! X-country tracks are nicely set on a majority of the trail. Beginners should note there hills on this trail.
Great trail for kiddos my 3 and 7 year olds loved it.
