Easy enough hike, could be at the top and down again in under an hour. If you are looking to stretch the legs before a more advance hike I suggest this one. Views are incredible from above

our first time to zion and our first hike. it was short and fairly easy for adults. we have a 7 and 10 year old and there were a few ledges that made my heart pound. otherwise there was no complaining. the view at the end was beautiful. parking was tough, we arrived at 10am.

easy hike, if you can call it that. it is less than 30 minutes but a fun experience if you have the time.

Short, easy hike. Nice cool place

I hiked only portions of this, rather than the entire trail because I was deviating to other trails on the same trip. The miles of this trail I hiked had me pass Emerald Pools, which was lovely. I also thought the view was incredible once you pass Emerald Pools, where I was looking down, through the valley.

Although the grade is steep to walk up to the falls, I didn't feel this was a hike - more of a walk up to the falls. This is a good trail for families because it's paved and wide. Just be careful nobody slips on the water.
This is a short hike, so every time I'm in Zion, I tack it onto my other hikes.

Easy mile, only took 12 minutes including a stop after the initial stair climb. Great view at the end.

Great views but beware that this hike can be challenging because of narrow hiking paths which are dangerously close to cliffs. For anyone wary of their balance or does not like to hike close to severe drop offs, don’t go on this hike

very short steep hike, less than 10 minutes to the top.

Great hike! There are several side canyons to hike as well. We saw Petroglyphs and a lot of wildlife! Thunderstorms hit in the middle of our hike, flooded all the slot canyons that had been dry only an hour before. Absolutely beautiful!

Great walk and only trail dogs are allowed in park

Terrific views of the canyon! Relatively easy hike, but as mentioned you’ll want good sturdy shoes as there are a couple of dicey spots. Definitely recommend.

I wish people would not describe this trail as easy. It certainly is not long, but if you are not confident when the trail narrows to about 14 inches across then don’t bother. It is very frustrating to climb most of the way only to reach a point where a slight misstep could send you plunging to the bottom of the canyon. I was terrified but knew my limits. I turned back.

Breath taking place. So many beautiful sights

Great reward for little effort! Please wear proper shoes if you have them - I saw a lot of people wearing sandals or even runners and slipping around. This trail has drop offs and could definitely be dangerous if not done properly!
In saying that, I would definitely recommend it :) the cave was a nice place to cool down on a 41 (115) degree day. Only probably took an hour all up, including time at the viewpoint, stopping and waiting for *numerous* people (its crowded and a narrow trail haha) and me not being in any hurry.
I was lucky enough to get a park somehow, but it’s right turn only (you can’t directly enter from the east entrance without U turns) and there aren’t many parks!

Parked at first pull off, traveling west to east. Walked the road portion of the trail, then ascended sandstone on west end of the trail. Once at the top, you have a very steep class 2 descent to the opening of the slot canyon. I brought 3 kids up (14, 11, 5), but wife and 5 yr old daughter turned back at summit, since class 2 scramble down would be too much. Saw some anchors for repealing down if trained/equipped. Boys and I started into the slot canyon, then faced a 8-10 foot long section full of gray water, 4.5-5 feet deep. After trying to attempt a crossing (removed my hiking boots, started to probe depth with poles), I decided it too dangerous for the boys and we turned back (to much displeasure from the kids). Scramble back up, then easy walk down sandstone. Going to come back and try reversing (clockwise vs counterclockwise as I first tried), to see if slot access easier from west end (looks like might not be any ascent/descent from that side). I’ll review again if we try. Spent about 45-60 mins going to that halfway point and then backtracking.

Nice moderate mid level view. Nothing over the top stunning, except a few mule deer. Is a nice short hike to wind down a long day.

We forgot to record the entire drive, but we started at the toll booths in Springdale and went all the way to the eastern edge of the park (one way). One worry I had was would our Volvo with bikes mounted on top be OK to go through the tunnels, and they were. Do keep in mind that the tunnels have a height restriction and bigger vehicles like buses or RVs may need an escort. The escort may cost extra, but otherwise there are no additional charges to go through the tunnel (without escorts). We did not do any hiking, but did stop at a few viewpoints to soak in the scenery, so we were in the park about 3 hours. It was a beautiful day and not too many people. As it had rained earlier in the week (with flash floods and rock slides), we think many may have avoided the park today (July 14). But as all of the roads were open, we had a pleasant drive through. Hope to come back again for some hikes!

Awesome trail- our first trail hiked in Zion. Very scenic and only took an hour or so. The drive through the tunnel and windy, breathtaking drive was part of the adventure! Hiked with 2 teen boys and they had fun. We saw a few lizards along the way and hiked a bit off trail for some added adventure.

Interesting short hike that is steep for the most part. The information on plants is nice as you go up. The water coming off the rocks is refreshing.

What a great trail. The kids loved the hike up and the views were great. This trail is worth it.

This trail should not be rated easy!! Easy = I can take grandma on a short hike and she will be fine. Easy = I can hike this in sandals.

Nope! You need proper hiking footwear and anyone with balance or mobility issues of any kind should not be on this trail. This trail has steep sections (especially in the beginning) minor rock scrambles, and some exposed areas with steep drop offs without railings! There is one area in particular that was really sketchy - it’s very narrow, slick rock, and still wet due to recent monsoon rainstorms - no railings when it should really have them. One slip and it’s over....

Any fear of heights, don’t do this! The overlook is nice but there are better hikes in the park so don’t be disappointed if you can’t find parking.

Have done this by foot and by bike. Paved, but scenic and not super crowded. A great way to get some time in the park right from the main visitors center.

Very short hike but a fun stopping point. My 5 year old was surprised and proclaimed, “We are done already?!” Our kids quickly tipped their heads back and stuck out their tongues to catch the falling water drops. Pretty views, nice and cool under the water and shade, quick hike. Add it in with a few other hikes since it’s so short.

We hiked this with our four kids ages 5, 6, 8, and 10 and we all loved it! Variety of terrain but totally doable. The views of the canyon were amazing! We even spotted some mountain goats. Do this hike, you won’t regret it!

Short steep walk to weeping rocks
Worth the hike
Amazing views and cooling off in weeping water

Quick, easy & breathtaking!

Beautiful hike, the toughest part is the initial entrance upwards, otherwise it's fairly easy. We arrived at 6:45 am, plenty of parking. We got to see the sun rising against the landscape, it was not busy and extremely peaceful. We also got to see a family of mountain goats up close!
