WEDNESDAY, 9/19/18, WAS A PREFECT DAY ON THE L. ROCK. IT WAS COOL AND SUNNY--THE UPHILL FROM THE PARKING LOT TO THE "TABLE" SEEMED SHORT, THOUGH NOT EASY. THE SURROUNDING MOUNTAINS WERE SHADES OF WASHED-OUT SKY COLORS. A HINT OF SMOKE ALONG THE i-5 CORRIDOR WAS THE ONLY SIGN OF THE SUMMER FIRES AND THE AIR WAS SWEET-SMELLING AND FRESH. OUR HIKING GROUP--5 TODAY--CAUGHT SIGHT OF A BUSHY TAILED MAMMAL THAT, GONE IN AN INSTANT, LOOKED AND MOVED LIKE A GRAY FOX.

Completed this hike on 9/2/18. Careful of the poison oak that lines the trail for a majority of the hike up/down. Other than that, a nice hike to kill some time before the races :)

Nice little hike. Off the grid so could not record.

A surprisingly great hike with some wonderful views of Grayback Mountain. The hike around Miller Lake and past Little Miller Lake is well worth your effort and should be a part of your plan. Also plan for the stream crossing about three miles out from the trailhead, it requires four wheel drive and a high ground clearance vehicle.

Crazy little crowded spot worth seeing. A lot of water going through a fairly small slot. It was the last little trail of a 2 day journey done on the way out. Met some nice people along the way.

Could not find the TH for this one... It was going to be my last hike of a 2 day venture. Next time maybe.

Beautiful short hike to a nice waterfall and then farther on to another interesting almost falls where the water travels through the boulders.

Very nice hike to the boulders and then I went back on the other fork that went along the stream with very nice waterfall to view and photograph. Good beginning to the many hikes that I did on my parts of 2 days venture.

Great hike

Very easy hike! It had been quite a while since we went hiking, so it was a good getting-back-into-it trail. My dog seemed to like it too. Probably was too easy for him... Really nice views!

We enjoyed exploring the North Bank Ranch area. Lots of great trails and very few people. However, the title of this trial (Dunning Ranch Trail) was not seen on sign posts or on the BLM map located at the trailhead. We were pretty confused but still enjoyed the variety of hikes — the most visible one is steep and a good hike up. There is also a trailhead to the north of the parking lot (look for opening in the parking lot fence) that is more flat and leads to a variety of other trails.

Easy access and a good simple loop hike.

It was an okay trail. The trail itself is a little hard to find, but it was pretty to walk through and shady for the most part in the section in was in.

Absolutely gorgeous and serene. 30 minute incline to the lake then you can keep going to the PCT at the top. The dogs and I both jumped in the lake, not too cold! When your about 2 miles away google maps will tell you to go right, DON'T! Just keep going straight and you'll hit the river crossing. Happy Hiking!

Wonderful view

good and easy trail to do with young children. we took our dog as well. the trail to isn't marked well, but from the parking lot head to the left and you will reach the falls.

Trail is closed due to recent Taylor creek fire. Trailhead unreachable. No word on when it will reopen.

Great mtn biking trail, but beware of dogs not on leashes who cause hiker/biker conflicts. I’ve ridden this trail for decades and the riders I know are courteous to other users.

Maps took me by a road that starts in Talent (it was the closer one) and it was a nightmare. The road, called Anderson Rd was horrible, not maintained at all and you have the impression you’re always lost. If you don’t have a truck and 4x4 it can be frustrating. The best route is by Jacksonville, taking Upper Applegate Rd and then Little Applegate Rd. These roads are pretty well maintained. The hike is short, but you can keep going by the next trails.

Last trail of 7 for the day. Met a fellow Corgi owner named Dennis and shared the last mile or so. Also met another user of Alltrails but the arm that bike users use. He was helpful advising another way to do the trail I was on. Great day dedicated to hiking!.

I really liked it. We didn’t have enough time to finish it, but I’m definitely going back soon. It is really obvious that this trail is heavily used it by bikers, but we didn’t go during peak hours (6:00 pm) so we didn’t find anyone else beside us. There’s not enough space for parking and the road is really narrow (small enough for just one car) so if you miss the parking spot, it could be tricky to turn around.

The sky was really clear today and that allowed us to enjoy the beautiful views from here. The trial is moderate, well maintained. Not dogs allowed.

My 1st time there. Took my dogs and did about 5 miles. Beautiful options and lots of trails, i’ll definitely go back and figure out the trail system better because we went a bit off course on accident and that always makes me nervous!

My wife and I hike this almost daily. There are many trials and a road that circles around.the mid point of the hill. There are great views of the rogue valley and the surrounding areas.

Great hike and view of the Rogue Valley/Medford area. Make sure to find the small path to rocky ledge area when you get to the top for the view. Great sunset views and even if you get locked in, there’s a number to call so rangers let you out lol

loved this hike!! First time on this trail brought my 5 year old and 2 year old. It was nice to be able to put my 2 year old down for majority of the hike. They only big issue I ran in to was where the map states where the trail head is. spent half an hour walking around with my kids before giving up and just going to mill creek. luckily Mill creek has a giant map that showed us where it was at. So if you go there it's about a mile after the bridge heading into town on Mill Creek Rd. Not at the bridge where this map has it marked.

This is a nice drive but have never seen/heard of people hiking it

I avoid this area because there’s homeless camps and homeless people everywhere and I do not feel it is safe any longer. They’ve found dead bodies and people get mugged all the time.

Wonderful hike! Easy access. The views from the summit are worth the climb. Interesting manzanita trees with red bark were viewed along the way.
