East Bay Map

Beautiful hike! Loved seeing the waterfalls. We went in March and it was muddy most of the way but still lovely. We went clockwise and there was lots of steep uphill spots. Would like to do it again. Round trip from street to loop and back was almost 7.5 miles.

Lovely hike, but the trail is often quite narrow. This would normally be fine, but there are a lot of trail bike riders, and not enough space to accommodate the traffic. It was frustrating for us to constantly move out of their way, and I’m sure it was frustrating for them to constantly be stuck behind hikers.

very beautful

Nice varied views and not too heavily trafficked, apart from near the parking lot. We extended the hike by adding a loop around Lake Anza, which we definitely recommend.

Visited on a sunny Sunday afternoon. It's a wonderful hike with multiple tiny waterfalls on the way. We did the loop anti-clockwise and found it to be moderately challenging. There are certainly a few sections of steep climbing, but nothing very strenuous. If you're visiting Mt. Diablo park, this should definitely be on your list of hikes!

Definitely NOT moderate. It was a great hike but there was interesting spots and I questioned my ability to continue lol. Great views and lots of friendly people along the way. Part of the trail is being closed and there were no signs

this app and place is so fun and refreshing!!!!!!

NOT MODERATE. Not at all. Be sure to check the map often as it was easy to get off trail...at one point we were basically rock climbing on a section of trail one of the rangers said they were planning to close off soon.

Love it! Basically it’s Cardinet Oaks Road all the way (approx 30 mins) to the point where you can turn either left or right for the loop itself. I suggest going clockwise. The Falls Trail is my favorite.. then the second - and last part - of the loop, Middle Trail, can be challenging for some. Can be muddy!

Nice hike, lots of lovely dogs, very pretty but not spectacular. I went during the week l, so there was plenty of parking and many times where I was alone on the trail.

Beautiful trail! Definitely worth taking single track trails when you can, see below recommendation there. So clean and lots of water right now. Trekking poles highly recommended. Trail is not well marked back in the falls trail area so bring your phone/map and make sure you don’t get too side tracked on a deer trail?!

Very green and scenic during this time of the year! I would recommend hiking during the winter and spring while it’s still green. The trail are not marked well so make sure you pay attention and follow the map on your phone. Parking is very difficult, be prepared.

we ended up doing several loops and random trails. it was a bit wet and muddy and still an easy trail. It's amazing to see this kind of beauty is right here in the bay area. There were many kids out on the trails. bikers who for the most part were very polite on the trail. and dog owners who also for the most part were polite. Beautiful creeks ,trees and stick forts. there are picnic tables and bathrooms through different spots as well. we will be back.

Mt. Diablo comes alive in the winter!

You can extend this hike by walking around Lake Anza.

This is my favorite winter hike. I like single track so I take Donner to Hetherington to Wasserman and avoid a good portion of the fire roads. On the return I get to Back Creek via Tickwood.

We started from inspiration point and hiked all the way to vollmer peak via seaview trail.. about 3 miles one way.. We reached around 9 am there were lot of vacant spaces In the parking lot.. There is also a restroom near the parking lot at inspiration point.. Amazing views of San Pablo reservoir , Golden Gate Bridge and the city.. Nice elevation and great workout.

Great hike on a clear day! Cinderella trail can get crowded with fast downhill bikers. There is also a fork which is not on the map. Keep left for a shortcut to Sinawik or right for some extra eucalyptus trees.

Do it! You will not be disappointed. Views are really great

Love this hike! I’ve done 3 different trails & I love them all

A bit more than moderate but a cool hike

Gorgeous forested hike in Tilden Park. This hike was characterized as “moderate.” I agree. Some steep spots and some rough terrain, but totally doable. #TrailsChallenge2018

fav reg hike for dog, hiking, trail runs and evening strolls

one of my favs. great intense inclines and areas if flat and down hill parts. fantastic views and always a great hike in this area and on this trail !

Beautiful hike. You do have to watch for bike riders but most I met called out to us hikers. Biggest draw back was running into several dogs off leash. All signs say dogs need to be on leash.

only reason why I'm giving it a 4 is b/c we would've rated it from moderate-hard. Otherwise, It was amazing! A solid 3 hour hike (not incl stops), nice inclines, combination of exposed and shady areas, wide trails as well as sweet, narrow trails. There is wifi along the way, and we definitely needed to access the online map for trail names. The little waterfalls were a sweet way to cool off along the way. Def bring 2 decent sized bottles of water and food.

Good for beginners! Steep parts for the good burn which ever way you decide to start. Path does fork a lot and connects with other trails so we had to use the trail map to stay in loop. It gets narrow in some spots, luckily there were many places to pull to side. Went on a Sunday at 9am for our first time and didn’t see very many folks on trail until we got back to car around 10:30. Large herbalist group had just arrived and we barely squeezed our way out of there. We plan to come back the next weekend.

Very scenic trail and a great workout. Went there by myself but if anyone needs company would love to go back :)
