Beautiful trail to jog! Great panoramic views
Scenic and lightly traveled
Lovely moderate trail, rolling hills good to get you heart going.
River side view and Canyon view, both are beautiful and good contrast.
this is a grueling yet satisfying hike and some breathtaking views of Lafayette Reservoir. Not much shade, so go on a cool day. lots of ups and downs for cross training and fitness.
Went counterclockwise at the loop-steep climb on dirt road. The return on loop was a smaller footpath-more fun hiking on uneven terrain. Not too crowded for a Sunday. Beautiful scenery. Many cows with calves on or near the paths. Will do this hike again
Easy hike minus the climb.
The trail offers beautiful views of the inner east bay, bits of the north bay and of course Mt. Diablo. The last Sunday of February provided us a sunny experience, come prepared. There are plenty of friendly hikers, horse back riders, runners, and cyclists ready to greet. Lastly, this course is not "easy" - maybe worth a reconsideration of labeling by the trail masters? Regardless, this adventure is worthy of your time and effort!
Very nice trail with bathrooms and benches along the way.
Surprisingly fun trail that mostly follows a steep creek edge, then breaks into an easy wide trail leading to fantastic views of the bay. Great for fearless, friendly dogs (like mine!) not great for reactive dogs because at times the narrow trail forces you to pass in close proximity to others. There only unpleasant part was when I had to pass within inches of a lunging, barking dog who was reacting to my dog, hoping that he wouldn’t push me over the steep-enough-to-break-something edge of the trail.
Nice straight forward... oaks, rolling hills.
Good for hiking, uphills are a bit much for running ;)
Went on a Sunday and it was busy! The spengler trail up hill to Brionies peak was a killer!!! View was nice at the top, but I think mottes peak is nicer. Saw park ranger on a quad which was nice to know that they are patrolling.
Beautiful views, nice challenge
This was an e-gravel bike ride. It was a variation of the original trail as bikes cannot go up Little Yosemite trail. Mostly rideable, but there were a couple of steep rocky downhills where I had to walk my bike down (I'm a little too old to face those :) . Gorgeous views of Diablo and the foothills. Will definitely come back.
Great ups and downs that have rest between the steepest parts.
