It is nice in March. There are little pink wildflowers and a waterfall in Labyrinth area. A small portion of the trail is steep with small loose rocks so use caution.
Nobody on the trail.
B-E-A-utiful day out there today ladies and gentlemen.
Nice sturdy hike with good views. A few spots with annoying baby heads, but overall a solid pick.
Gravel road. Wide open.
Beautiful views on a perfect windless day in the gorge!
Fairly wide trails. Great for social distancing. Manageable mud spots, crossed two creeks with logs/rocks. Arrived Sunday morning with minimal cars, though on our way back, parking lot was full. Bathrooms at trail head. Recommend going on a clear day so you can see Mt. Hood!
Very chill and very pleasant. There are areas of open fields, overlooks, trees, inclines.
Nice hike with some views today, although it got cloudier as the day went on. The trail is snow-free, and there are some muddy patches but nothing horrible. The first wildflowers are starting to bloom, with many more to come. Dogs must be on-leash here, but I passed LOTS of entitled dog owners who don't think the rules apply to them. I also saw several close calls between cyclists and off-leash dogs, which happens every time I hike here.
Beautiful hike with incredible views! Very windy along the wall. A bit of snow and mud in some parts but easy to navigate through.
Beautiful with great gorge views. First few miles are basically just thigh-burner incline. Eventually mostly flattens out (small dips and rises) and winds through oak copses on top of the rolling hilly plateau. Stunning area, a bit muddy in the winter. Best to have some good hiking boots for the initial incline/end decline as there's sections of loose big grain gravel/rocks, and a rocky trail up/down. Very heavy tick area. My dog is on strong tick medication, he wears a skin tight coat, stays on lead/trail (posted requirement), AND I took a fine, long-toothed comb and brushed him down at the end of the hike. probably removed upwards of 20 ticks at the end of the trail before loading in the car, and another 10+ once we got home and I did an intense search. He has a medium length coat and the suckers just get in there like crazy. So definitely give your dog a good check after. Might not be so bad for a short coat since it's easier to see them then. But this trail is pretty much out for me now since it's such a tick minefield even staying as on-trail as possible.
Fantastic hike with many wonderful views of the gorge. I felt like I was in a western.
Beautiful views. Trail was a little on the narrow side and muddy at times.
Gorgeous hike, the views are astounding.
park is closed. 2/6/21
Beautiful Gorge views. Cherry Orchard loop appeared to be closed, according to signage. Maybe just for horses, but not certain. The views were fantastic through, mostly in the first couple miles.
Completed on a rainy/muddy day. Gorgeous views. I look forward to doing this again in the summer when the mud is dried up!
