Beautiful the whole way. Amazing how the landscape completely changes throughout the whole path. Prepare for long queues if you want to take pictures at the “tongue”. If I were to do this trail again I would do it in two days and camp for a night
Would not rate this as moderate but instead as hard due to the first part where you climb the rocks with assistance of the chains. Regardless of that the whole hike is amazing. You feel like you are in the moon or another planet as it seems so inhabited and different. It’s very special to walk throughout the top of mountain like that and to eventually reach the little boulder. The landscape changes a lot. Starts with rough rock. Then valleys that makes you think of lord of the rings. More rocks and then the Boulder. Ps: The drive itself to the beginning of this trail is amazing. ... and the beer in the 360o view restaurant at the arrival taste like no other ;)
Jjjj
did the tmb 24 years ago and I still hold the experience very close to my heart. stunning scenery and varied walking. not too difficult if you're fit but some of the climbs are a good workout! planning to do it again in the next couple of years, can't recommend highly enough :)
Well marked - easy camping - great scenery
Super
Was here many years ago. Long hike. Easier to split into 2 days. Long lines for pictures. Seriously sketch and awesome.
fine
It is a once in a lifetime experience to do this hike. It is very challenging, but the views reward you.
One of my all time favorite hikes I’ve ever completed. Stunning landscapes. You can jump into the water at the end but it will be freezing, bring a change of clothes if you do this!
snow depths were between 0 and 1m. I did a two day one night. due to the storm 30m/s I chose to sleep in one of the safety huts. without the house I guess the tent would not have survived the night. snow shoes would have been a big help also.
It was a life dream to hike thru Patagonia and this trail was absolutely breathtaking. The lake up top is unreal and makes the trek worthwhile.
Muy bonito desde el principio hasta el final. Fácil toda la caminata excepto la subida a la cascada.
Beautiful hike that I can't wait to do again. (did the hike on October 10)
Challenging hike with breathtaking scenery from approach to finish. Great accommodations as well but parts of it could be grueling due to its length, especially along the southeastern part of the W. Overall one of the worlds greats in my opinion. Physical endurance and the ability to carry a pack many miles is a must. Some campsites offer a wooden deck for the tent, so a good mattress is definitely needed. December offered less fickle weather, great blue skies and starry nights, some cold days as well. Sometimes I even woke up sweating. Mother Nature is unpredictable, so there may be days where the Torres are hidden by clouds.
