Hard and scenic trail.

First part follows the bluff and has Unique rooted paths. First third is the most scenic and challenging. Second third is just a nice stroll in the woods. Last third he’s just a walk up the road back to the vehicle.

My new all time favorite trail in Wisconsin. Not easy, but so worth it. Check it out.

Beautiful trail with many amazing rocks and caves, lots of things that I had never seen before.

An easy trail. Be cautious with young kids along bluff side. Well worn trailhead. No blazes. Ran into a couple who claimed we were hiking on private land but we followed exact route on app, so this was somewhat confusing. Pretty forest and bluff views. Trail surface dirt lots of roots along bluff edge.

Great views, tons of roots so be aware and muddy/slippery in some spots! We loved it!!

Not a bad trail but definitely had to pay attention otherwise you could get lost.

This is an easy trail. Not sure why it is rated hard. Very little elevation gain. It has some nice views along the water and the cliffs are neat to check out. It was very buggy at about 8am, and wet and muddy in some spots but pretty avoidable overall.

Great trail.’!! It’s tree lined and on the water’s edge, plus there are some fun rocky areas Accessed the trail from the beach area via the Minnehaha trail.

A family friendly trail! Not meant to be a real challenge. Some rewarding views. Walking along the lake is pleasant. Worth the visit! Just wish the tower was accessible

A great backpack only state park. I checked out all the sites and hiked most of the trails. Great scenery and a constant sound of the waves on the shore. All sites are remote from each other. If you love backpacking or just hiking, this is a great way to spend the weekend or the day. Reserve early.

july 12 just after rain. terrible mosquitos but gorgeous moss covered rocks glades of fern amid cedar. take hiking shoes, poles and deet for a good time.

red trail backwards with detour from 3rd beach to 2nd beach.

Easy trails, fairly heavy traffic at times. Water views are pretty cool too.

I hiked this trail with my sister, and we agree that the trail is not well marked. We started from the trailhead at the parking lot along the shore of the bay and then moved away from the shore into the woods. We looped around and came upon a road that looked like access road for county maintenance. We didn’t see a trail so we turned back and back-tracked to the car. As we were driving out, we realized that we should’ve followed the access road back to the parking lot. We added some time and distance to the hike but we both enjoyed it! We would do this again.

real wet in muddy in areas but fun

A pleasant hike through the forest with nice turn offs to the lake shore for great views. Fellow hikers few and far between.

This park is my favorite.
There actually isn't a trail named Peninsula State Park, but 20 miles of trails within the park. The loops are Eagle Trail 2 mi, Sentinel 2 mi, Skyline 3 mi and White Cedar .5 mi. Sunset Trail is a 10 mile bike path that runners and hikers use. The other trails are connecting trails.

Fun trail! Good for families but a little challenging at times. Our kids are 4 and 6 and they had a blast. They especially liked the few spots where the trail went right up to the rock face and you could see the little cave areas.

Beautiful trail! A little bit of everything along the way. Like others, I wouldn't say this hike was difficult but be cautious of roots and rocks and pay attention to footing in some areas. Very enjoyable.

We took the Clark Lake spur to see pink lady slippers in mud-June. Gorgeous trails. We were all alone. Green trail return to Nature Center.

We did not do the whole 10.7 miles (we had a cranky 4 year old with us who was not happy to ride on her dad's back), but we probably did about 2-3 miles of the loop total. What we did was really nice, with some great views of the lake. The trail was well-marked, too.

Great trail system and awesome bay area views! Don't forget the bug spray, and make sure to download the park map from the DNR website because that has more of the nitty gritty trails in it.

I run through this park almost every day and every time, it’s even more beautiful than the last. There are great wooded trails to explore, hidden caves, eagle sightings and breathtaking sunsets with the bay view. Everyone says that Peninsula State Park is the best of Door County, but I disagree. This park is much better, not to mention less tourists!

Always loved this trail but the conditions are still a little rough. Came across multiple slope areas that were covered in glare ice that were tricky and dangerous to cross.

My husband and I went hiking on this trail last fall. It wasn’t what I call hard, I’d say it had it’s challenging areas due to rock and some areas that had wash away. Oh and maybe because I was wearing flip flops, we weren’t planning to go hiking. It was so beautiful. I can’t wait to go back this summer.

Great trail. Pretty easy going, not marked all that well , which is great because few ppl come up this far to hike it. An added bonus on this trail is The Place Where The Monk Sits. Very very few people know if it’s existence, even among locals. If you can find it, you’ll know it when you’re there. Just be cautious hiking the bluffs. Ring a bottle of wine, a light meal, and enjoy the view as the sun sets or rises in this hidden gem. Bring a headlamp as the trails aren’t marked well.

Beautiful trail but not at all “hard”. It was moderate in some areas but mostly roots and rocks. The views were stunning with some beach front access perfect for skipping rocks. You walk at the base of 100 foot bluffs along the water and wind along the cliffs which pass a couple caves. Lots of kids (6yr+) and dogs. We added Minnehaha to Sentinel to make a 4.25 mile loop.
