I forgot to start my recording until we were half way around. Fun, but short, trail. Unusually scenic views for Louisiana. Really feels like another state. Several picnic tables at the trailhead make for a nice place to rest, eat and take in the views.

Quiet, peaceful, varied terrain. Easy trail to follow. My dog enjoyed it too.

Very easy, mostly paved trail. The landscape is mostly pine and kind of uninteresting. It's an ok way to pass the time, but don't expect to be dazzled.

One of my favorites!! It was wet but the water was beautiful and the views are stunning. We didn’t see anyone else on the trails!

Pretty easy trial. I walked it with my dog. You basically have to go down on the start of the trail and up at the end of the trail. The steps are easy. Not difficult. If you start the trail going left, then you'll get to this little stream with pretty water not far from the start. Cool to see something like this especially in Louisiana. There are plenty of parking spots and several picnic areas at this area. Also, a bathroom. A great place to adventure and relax for a few hours.

Glad to see it back open. Trail has been cleared of fallen trees, though sad to see the damage. Lots of pine needles coating path, so could be slippery if wet. You cannot beat the views on the trails in this area. Short, but a good workout with the elevation changes and the sandstone stairs.

August 2020- a nice once paved trail with information placards about plants/trees/grass and local geology. some placards are missing and some are illegible due to being crudely tagged. creeks and waterfall are mostly dried up or stagnant. also watch for snakes along the trail!

Loved this trail and the rapid variations of landscape and foliage. One Waterfall and multiple creek crossings. The rock outcroppings made you forget you were in Louisiana.

a very fun short trail. my 9 year old daughter loved it because of the butte she got to climb and the small creek crossings and one of them had a small waterfall.

Trail is well maintained. My daughter and I mistakenly hiked the entire loop believing we would connect with Backbone Trail. Instead we just did a 1.5 mile warm-up before jumping onto Backbone Trail! The lookouts were worth the time spent!

Excellent hike with lots of short hills and windy paths to keep it interesting, but not difficult. Beautiful scenery.

My husband and I took our 4 year old and two year old on 12/31/19. It was beautiful and the 4 year old was able to do the 1.5 mile loop without any help. Didn’t pass any other hikers while we were there. We brought water boots to let the kids splash around the little waterfall/rocky creek area. We also packed a picnic and sat on the rocks by the waterfall for lunch. Highly recommend.

Nice climbs to the Vistas but they do have walk arounds if you aren't up to it but they are well worth the effort if you can! Really nice quiet creek with a tiny waterfall. This is rated as moderate but I guess that is because of the climbs because there are resting benches along the way and it is only 1.5 miles. It was a really nice morning hike!

Great little trail! There are signs scattered about with plants and trees commonly found in the area. There's supposed to be a waterfall area, but the creek areas we crossed didn't seem to sport any waterfalls at this time of year at least. great for the kids. Nice vistas on top of the little buttes.
