The hike is actual two hikes in one. The hike to the trail up the fire road is wide and easy. There are shady groves along the way in case you need rest on hot day. When you get to the mouth of Eaton Canyon that's where the fun starts. You will cross the the creek a number of time as you wind up the canyon. You have to do some rock climbing because you will have to go over outcroppings of boulders. Once you reach the falls, it will be worth it. If you have shaky balance I would strongly recommend hiking poles. Also exercise patients as you will encounter folks coming in and out of the canyon. Over all the hike is great for the first time hiker, casual hiker, or hikers with some trails and miles under their belt.

Great safe walk with family or challenge yourself and run up the back side!

Perfect for the occasional hiker.

This trail is rigorous! We hadn’t hiked in a very long time, and this trail was a fun and challenging return to one of our favorite pastimes. Make sure you’re okay with getting your feet wet because crossing over some parts of the water was tricky! My dog loved it too!

This is a really easy hike to go on for beginners, and you get a really good view. There is a summer camp at the top + the Culver steps if you feel like tackling that.

It brings a lot of memories ;)

Beautiful shady trail that is mostly flat or close to flat, takes you up to small falls and then if you scamper up some rocks, you can get to the larger falls. As of April 18,2018 waterfall was full. Did this hike on a Wed and plenty of people out so I would imagine it’s packed on weekends. One main trailhead starts you off. We came to a form and made the mistake to go right up Walnut Canyon. That was a HARD vertical climb on switchbacks. Finally realized we we’re going the wrong way, so we went back down and took the flatter trail down to falls. I would say waterfall trail is EASY in terms of exertion level but need a little technical skill for crossing stream and using rocks to walk across.

This is always going to be favorite “go to” trail. I love the view and the length and variety that this trail has to offer. Free convenient parking is a short walking distance from the base of the trail on either the street or at the park. It’s also a perfect trail for strollers, dogs leashed, even children. Great trail the whole family can enjoy. Watch out for little critters passing by (just like you would encounter on any nature walk). Make sure to wear a hat and bring lots of water during the summer months because there isn’t a whole lot of shade. The trail can take anywhere from 1-1.5 hours depending on if you do the entire trail or just the quick loop around. As long as you’re staying on the designated paths provided, you’re sure to enjoy a safe and fun exercise :)

Well it was a great trail. Can’t complain Iraq has better trails with some more adventure. For the people complaining about the trail I will politely say go screw your self and your little minds. Remember it’s a hiking trail that is moderate and not every trail is gonna be too your needs be happy Mother Nature doesn’t kill you or eat you alive. If you want a clean trail keep it clean if you want it to be less hard then it is then take your head out of your butt. Especially you Spanish speaking lady. Don’t go unless you are ready for it. Dumbasses

the trail down to the waterfall has a lot of shade but coming back is a lot of uphill also we got within 75 yards of the hermit Falls and the last part of the trail is almost too difficult none of us wanted to go up it but next week we're going to do Sturtevant Falls it's worth the trip

Easy trail. Small waterfall into shallow pool, good for kids and dogs to take a dip.

Love going before the sunrise, the view is unbelievable.

Hiked up here on a beautiful morning. Great hike for beginners but I chose to scale some rocks up near the top as well. Architecture of the place is reminiscent of Old California. Missions and the like. Great hike and can’t say enough about the views from all angles of this trail.

Great hike but when we got back my car had been broken into and my credit cards stolen. They broke the lock and left everything else very neatly in place. I didn’t realize until I got home. This seems to be a trend here. Beware.

Don’t let the beginning of the hike deter you, it’s very steep and rocky. It will eventually even out. Great hike for serious hikers.

I loved the waterfall. The trail had a lot of creek crossings so don’t wear shoes you won’t want to get wet. Lots of dog poop on the trail, which is inexcusable considering there are baggies provided at the beginning of the trail. Got there early, trail had a couple of other groups on it. On the way out, there were massive groups of school kids and nature walks and the parking lot was full. Also, no one wants to hear your phone blasting your crap music. Turn it off!

Great for a quick workout. You can walk the trail or hike up the side trails. It gets busy with a lot of people depending on the time of day. I usually night hike which makes it a lot better to breathe.

Nice trail with great views, my kids love it!

Nice loop for beginning hikers. Lots of shade and some nice scenery. Can be combined with Mt. Zion Loop or even with hike to summit of Mt. Wilson. Lots of options.

Loved the water and rocks! Enjoyed the waterfall at the end, of course.

Fun little trail with no real climbs. Lots of stream crossings and lots of squirrels running cross the trail so keep an eye out! If you haven’t done it before and you’re in the area it’s worth a look but I’d rather go to bonelli~

Beautiful view and a great place to take your kids. My 5 and 4 year old enjoyed it.

simplemente hermoso un lugar muy agradable...
