absolutely gorgeous. after a set of switch backs, you follow a stream all the way up to the falls which offers a nice tranquil sound for the entire hike. You also see some amazing views of the mountains throughout. The hike is fairly challenging in a few places! younger children probably wouldn't be the best to bring here, but older kids would be okay. One of the best hikes I've done!

Amazing views all the way up. Missed peak fall by a week. Trail wasn’t marked very well but it looked like all variations lead to the same point. Phone was at 1% couldn’t record down.

I loved the trail. It was lightly trafficked mostly with hikers and a couple of mountain bikers. Got some amazing views from the top and also experienced the snowfall on my way up.

Lovely easier trail, at least up to the steeper climb at the end. Those noting that the trailhead is too busy are just going in the wrong season. If you wait until the gate is closed (usually 11/1) and bike up, there is no one there at all :-) I pondered heading up the wasatch crest trail, but it looked like the snow got deeper, so I followed the ridge from Murdock over to Millvue, then bushwhacked down the slope back to the parking lot.

Nice area, but lots of horse poop. If you're on foot and are terrified of stepping in horse poop like me, this trail isn't for you!

With the dog, just a long street to walk up to the trail, than trail is steep and not fun to come down, stopped half way on trail . Least favorite so far.

I love this trail. I love that dogs can use the trail too. Today, however, there were three young men on dirt bikes. That was not pleasant for so many reasons. This is the first time I’ve encountered dirt bikes and I hope it’s the last.

My favorite trail so far for Autumn colors, I went with my friend on Sunday. Very friendly trail as well enjoyed seeing everyone out with their dogs and children. Everyone greeted one another and said good morning.

Fantastic trail, my first in the SLC area! I went there for a hike at 5pm and found it plenty busy with local joggers, bikers, and hikers, so don't go here for an isolated experience. Still, the amazing views, great plant variety, and Mill Creek right at the start make it easy to enjoy regardless of traffic. Most of the time there is ample room to let bikers past, but later on in the route it gets skinny, so be cautious and aware of your footing when you step aside for others.

I'm a 27 y/o male, and was able to go about 2 miles in an hour. I unfortunately had to turn back then due to approaching sunset, but even without reaching the rock (which you will see long before you get there), there are some spectacular scenes, especially at "The Boulders", about 1.6 miles in on this map.

Hiking up to Elephant Rock in Mueller Park was a beautiful hike all the way up. It is about 3.5 miles up. The hike does seem a little longer than normal (a causal uphill trail with a few switchbacks). I highly recommend to bring at least 1.5 liters of water and a snack with you. Also, bring a camera the views are spectacular!
The trail was busy with hikers, trail runners, and mountain bikers. So be aware of your surroundings and go on the hike early if you want to avoid traffic.

My first time there today. It was challenging but great. Very nice views when on top. Many people on horseback, I’m not sure it’s great for bikes though. For hiking, definitely it’s a go :)

Beautiful creekside trail especially in the fall. It is moderately challenging if you are not in shape. I personally love this hike and repeat it quite often.

People complaining about there being too much dog crap should probably stick to trails where they aren't allowed. You can find these in watersheds, like the cottonwood canyons!

This trail is beautiful, a quick escape. Bikers are common, but so are hikers, so everyone stays aware of each other. Would recommend - ESPECIALLY in fall. :)

Trail is definitely uphill the entire way, deserves its ranking. We went last week and it was pretty snowy at the top so it was very muddy and slick. Views were pretty but just okay. Meadow was full of snow.

I would mirror Julie Kirby’s comments. Great trail for running, beautiful, but way too many people. Also way too much dog crap on the trail.

Amazing views and the fall colors were breathtaking. We had an amazing day.

We went to perfect timing with fall leaves and weather. At the top (waterfall) , it can get cold so we were glad we had a good jacket (next time I will bring gloves for my kids hand). Good thing we had a friend who knew exactly where to find the location, it can get little tricky off HWY 89. We started to hike around 3:30pm and were able to catch the sunset by 7pm. It is dog friendly but little kids may need help to go all the way. Even if you don’t go all the way, it is fun to bring family there. I was told every season this hike is different. Probably not in mid summer where it can get really hot (unless hiking in the early morning). Can’t wait to return back again.

This trail is great for trail running. My only complaint is its popularity. Too many people. It thinned out after the first 2 miles. I clocked this at 7 miles to elephant rock and back.

Beautiful Fall hike. Loved the parts along the creek.

Perfect time of year. Perfect trail to start trail running or get back into trail running.

Love this hike! And the mountain bikers are very courteous of the hikers. Beautiful.

I love this trail as it is very beautiful and seldom used. It is nice seeing the cabins and using the road through the neighborhood.

Bring a change of socks if you don't want squish foot. This is worth the climb.

Wonderful hike. A little technical in some places.

amazing trail if you need something to kick your butt. the first little section is a bit awful just because of the dust and switchbacks but once you're past those, it's all beautiful and shady! dogs are free to roam off the leash and mine loves all the water along the way.

easiest 6 miles of my life. well established trail. some bikers but everyone is pretty cautious of hikers! beautiful views all the way up!

its uphill the whole way good times beautiful waterfall. beginners were at that are we there yet about 3/4 way. lolz. so worth it. well worn trail.

Loved this trail it was so beautiful ♥️♥️

Lovely hike to a beautiful waterfall. i enjoyed hiking by the stream and seeing all the beautiful little cascades of water and mini waterfalls. We started early but I can imagine when it is hot the first part would be a beast! The information we read said dogs were welcome if on a leash...I saw lots of dogs and none of them were on a leash! The dog poop along the trail left by inconsiderate dog owners was a real distraction to this beautiful trail! Come on dog owners pick up after your dogs or don't use this trail!

I love this trail
