It’s a nice easy walking trail close with some beautiful views. The water steam along with the humming birds makes it quite memorable trail for the whole family.
Trail was beautiful, great for kids with beautiful views along the way.
Beautiful scenery, but would not classify it easy if doing the whole trail. Lots of stairs. I’d be giving it a classification of moderate as in some areas it’s quite steep
The trail was great! However it was swampy smelling down at the creek which was a shame...not an easy walk if you do the entire track...I would rate this as moderate rather than easy...recommended nevertheless
Great track, not too difficult with diverse scenery.
Great walk to see a number of small waterfalls, best after rainfall. Track can get muddy with pools of water so appropriate hiking shoes recommended.
Saltpan Creek and Wilksch Walk is the tale of three totally different experiences all rolled into one. The trail starts off behind the multimillion dollar houses of Northmead and winds teasingly past 2 phantom waterfalls and the side of a golf course. Stunning bay views and got to see the sun rise over the yachts. Then the walk takes you down to the super busy wharf/boat ramp and then along side Tunks Park. Luckily, the crowds peter off some when the trail passes the park and there are some stunning creeks and delightful trails to be found. Be warned though, this trail as a whole is not without its fair share of stairs!! After looping around flat rock, the trail picks back up at Tunks and its plethora of doggos dashing around. Once again, the crowds dissipate as the trail climbs back up past the golf course and through the lush vegetation. Great trail, but super busy, so be warned.
Kids need gum boots!
great shady walk with multiple waterfalls, some with sandy areas. quite a few parts with steep stairs as well as fallen trees to be aware of.
Great little hideaway track in Gordon, not too many people on the track, and really clear & easy to let your dog run around a bit off leash. Access to creeks too. We even saw a red belly black snake laying in the sun!
Zero markings along the track and multiple forks that send you off track. Spent a lot of time nose in map. Pretty along the creek though.
Good walk, numerous trails come off the main track so keep an eye on your map, mainly shaded. when you get to the boat ramp go down the stairs and head to the path on the left of the open area, keep following that path.
This is a pleasant walk that you can turn around at any time or walk the length and get train back, Its in full sun and exposed to winds, so best for Spring or Autumn. Take a spare pair of socks for the lagoon crossing. Wide views of the coast and out to sea. It is quite steep in places which i didn't notice until i took a family member with me,
Be sure to time the Werri lagoon crossing with the tides
13.88km from Kiama Surf Club to Gerringong Train Station. Did 18,194 steps. Great walk.
So stunning. I reckon you’d be hard pressed to find a more stunning coastal hike.
nice and easy family walk
An absolutely beautiful track. There are some declines you will need to walk up on the way back out but they are manageable. Dogs are allowed and I noticed alot of people had their dogs i off leash. The creek flows nicely so there aren't any stagnant sections and there are some little side trails leading down to the creek. Each of these goes to a very picturesque part of the creek so they are worth checking out. At the end of the track, there is a large cement path. It is very steep and leads back up into residential area. You can skip this part if you don't feel like trekking up it. There isn't anything special to see up there. No carpark available only street parking.
An amazing experience. Perfect sanctuary on a hot day. Well directed. Some steps but because it is a relatively short trak quite suitable for beginners. Easily accessed waterfall for a fresh herbal shower.
Quite an easy trail to do with younger kids. Not much water over the falls.
