Great hike! Waterfall was beautiful! Entered from the south. Made it a bit more challenging because of the huge amount of fallen forest we had to climb over to stay on the trail. The pay off was worth it. Will definitely hike again!

Bring shoes equipped for ice. Many parts of the trail have ice right now, especially during morning times.

great trail to push yourself on, a lot of ice this time of year

Such a beautiful area. Tons of water in the stream and coming down the falls. Highly recommend this hike!

falls are easy to get to. my 8 and 6 year olds made it up no problem. very beautiful hike.

Beautiful lake views as you go with stunning snow capped mountains in the distance. Truly an invigorating hiking experience!

this trail is so easy to access, clearly marked, breathtaking waterfalls that are easy to get to, great picnic trail!! you can pack a big backpack and the trail is easy enough to handle it. almost didn't want to share cuz I wanted to keep it secret

Both falls were running well. Beautiful trail even with the scarring of fire. The new life that is filling the area is amazing.

Beautiful trail. The end of the trail is magnificent!

Beautiful walk along the river even if we did it under the rain. This trail was a pleasure, It is a good alternative to the park when this one is crowded.

Great workout, beautiful scenery...Maaaaybe not the best hike for young children or older dogs. There are multiple entrances; the middle entrance gives you a left and right you can make. To the left you can cross the creek to a 5 mile out and back trail (more family and older dog friendly) to the right is more of a moderate hike as you will descend as you get closer to the creek and waterfalls. Great great hike but coming back up can be rough!

Rewarding hike for mind and body...beautiful views... great trail. Lots of switchbacks between 9000 and 10000 feet, definitely a challenge as an infrequent hiker from the East coast.

Great for families - rocky beach is a great area for building stick forts and playing

Great hike! There is a great waterfall two miles prior to the end of the trail indicated on this map. Beautiful trail, bring bug spray for the first section. If you don't mind nats, then you will be ok. Hint to find the waterfall marked on this hike, after you go over the second small bridge, pay attention, to find a split in the trail to the left, that will take you to the small fall that is the end of this trail. You could continue on the main trail all the way to Sugar Pine. Also, if you want to see the big fall and don't want to do a 6 mile hike, drive up 41 to the trail head that is a paved pull out, well marked on the left hand side. We drove up and checked it out after we did the hike, because we saw it on on our way out.

My family and I do this trail once a year. We really enjoy it. Incline and decline are pretty serious though, for kids. Love the creek and waterfall for splashing around.

Pretty hike, lots of other people on the trail (holiday weekend) but didn’t feel crowded. Would be excited to come back in the spring to see the waterfalls at their peak!

Very tranquil hike. Not too challenging but about 1000 feet of elevation gain from the trailhead to Red Rock Falls. About two creek crossings, not bad at all. My 22lb dog kept up the whole way and enjoyed! Would do again.

Beautiful day for hiking. Well marked trail with enough ups and downs to make it interesting. We hiked this trail clockwise this time so that the most strenuous part of the hike was done first.

One of favorites! Family fun all seasons. We have hiked this trail a few times! Beautiful and majestic views! So peaceful. Some strenuous spots but so worth it!! Check it out!

WEAR bugs spray; There’s plenty of bugs & mosquitoes. Trail/creek was beautiful. Expects INCLINE and minors obstacle on trail (fallen trees). Creek was full of flowing water.

Very beautiful lake. You do see a few people by the lake fishing and walking around. Took my dogs and they loved it. pretty short walk. Easy hike there.

Amazing views. Short and challenging hike, We stopped several times to enjoy the view. Came early and greeted with several groups coming up on our way down. The 3 miles drive FS21S05 was unpaved road to the parking lot.

Great trail! All up hill at first so heading back is easy. There were literally thousands of lady bugs more towards the middle to end parts of the trail. There are plenty of waterfalls to see and it is almost completely shaded. Heading back we ran the trail.

Beautiful October hike

Great day hike. I guess you can walk down or walk up. We walked up. It will challenge you but the beauty and peacefulness it nice. Go hike a mountain.

Fun little trail up to a waterfall. A few other groups on the trail so no worries about the mountain lion. The Lewis Creek trail car park is actually in the middle of the trail on this map. Worth a try if you’re in the area.

Beautiful trail, just the right mix of semi-difficult hiking and easy paths. My 7 year old and two year old both made it all the way around. (Although the 2 year old had to be carried for about half the way). You’re walking around the lake, so there’s always a fantastic view of the water. Would defiantly take this hike again!

Could not have come at a better time. Fall colors are in the trees! Great hike with magnificent views! Pretty steady climb
