Easy short hike with a big payoff
Be sure to go after a good rain.
Trail head is Almost exactly parallel to the state park entrance sign on Fayetteville end.... on opposite side of highway. Park in the lot stay on lot side and walk 100y back towards park. It will be on your left . Follow trail left until a clearing on right . Turn R there. If you get to a creek and bluffs. Turn around.
Trek poles and waterproof boots recommended!
Have fun !

Nice trail for hiking and photography! Many things to see along the way

Lovely little hike-and yes you do come UP on the way out-good exercise! The whole area is nice -Elise Falls is a little “on a around the corner” delight

This was more like a state park setting, the trail takes you down to the natural bridge which in itself is worth the trip, but you should go on around the LOOP and visit the rock formations and caves on the backside, plenty of spots to sit and enjoy

great trail 5.5 miles, ran 2 loops yesterday. it also leads to other trails so lots of options for a day run.

Caves, waterfalls and the bridge were all beautiful!

Short hike to beautiful, serene falls!

This is a beautiful waterfall!! Very short and easy walking access for all ages. It’s a must see!!

Excellent hike, great views, road well signed leading in

Great little trail for a quick afternoon out with plenty of great photo opportunities. It’s kept very well maintained and has a lot of information posts along the way. Quite a bit of history packed into this hike as well as moments of feeling secluded even though you’re not.

Great level park paved walkway excellent for kids

Nice trail. A little too urban for my taste, but there's a scenic, broad creek with a small waterfall that people see by climbing over the rails, a bridge, some hill work, and crossing a dam with a wide view of the reservoir, so it's quite a survey over a short trail.

It's on the far end of town for me, but it's almost as good as an in town trail gets, paved or dirt. The dirt trail isn't as special now that there's the paved trail because there's less seclusion, but both are still beautiful. You can hike one, jog the other on a different day. It's a good length for a fitness excursion, and several stretches near parking lots are attractive enough to enjoy yourself even if you come for frequent, shorter excursions that require doubling back.

This is a nice hike but note than you go downhill to start with so on the way back it’s uphill. I didn’t think it was bad but just be aware. With last nights storm everything was wet and muddy but that also meant the water was flowing. There is limited parking. There was only a few other people out on the trail today so no crowds to deal with.

Water was flowing good after last nights storm. Limited parking and a guy with a horse trailer parked in such a manner that he took up the whole parking area. We were able to park about 25 yards down along the tree line. This is a short easy walk but what a payoff!! The gravel road down was not an issue. I have an AWD Ford Edge but watched a car make it as well so shouldn’t be an issue for anyone.

Road in there was a straight downhill wouldn’t want to travel it after a rain you would have a horrible time. The parking area and trail was very clean and it was very close to walk to the falls.

Hiked this trail in mid November when it was about 40 degrees out. Definitely had trouble finding the entrance to the trail, and there appears to be a smaller trail that has been created right at the parking area that leads off in the complete wrong direction. The actual trail is just a jeep trail that is not marked. Definitely recommend downloading a track ahead of time. Luckily we had LTE on the wrong trail and I was able to download a recording and find the correct trail. Someone had marked the trail down to the cave with an orange tag on a tree so we were able to find our way down. The cave/structure itself is pretty neat and the hike back up was pretty grueling, especially after doing two other trails earlier in the day. Overall a great short hike, just be prepared for going back up.

One of my favorites in the area. Been here two times already, it never disappoints.

Beautiful trail and not too crowded. Lots of signage with lots of education about plant species. It was also fun to come across the concrete foundation of a house that used to be there but burned down. It was a beautiful trail to walk on a November Saturday morning. Thank you to all the volunteers who keep this trail in good shape!

Had no trouble following the trail. Quite a severe downhill though, during leaf off its easy to slip on rocks and other debris under the foliage. Waterfall is lovely, has carved itself a nice little canyon. Was beautiful in autumn but low water flow. Hike back out is almost nonstop elevation gain. I stopped one time and did fine but regardless it was a work out. Wouldn’t want to do it during the warm months.

Beautiful site to see. We would love to see it again.

It’s a pretty grueling hike back up. Be prepared!
