Always a favorite! A good way to spend a few hours or just sit by the lake and relax.

I will not pay for parking to walk in the woods. $10 was the cheapest. Even the parking spot to sight see near the big 5 mph turn has a little trail with a sign that says pass needed.

Nice easy walk that has a lake, lean-tos and a good open fire tower with beautiful views, would recommend

Nice easy relaxing walk the loop in the back of the park was muddy

Pretty good workout with the hills! Lots of woods, but the trail was very muddy and a bit confusing only in one area where you come out to the road by the shelter. Great trail. I’d definitely do it again!

Love this area. In the summer, they have stunning flowers, wonderful views, interesting hikes and climbs. Nothing too hard, but a lovely local outing.

good hike. yellow loop was easy enough for our older dog

Nice easy hike... and close to home.

perfect winter walk with the family

Nice day, trail wet in places. Over looking Hudson River

Nice and easy trail with nice views. A lot of different trails you can venture off too. For being this time of year I was actually surprised at how many people were there so probably a place I would stay away from during the warm seasons.

I've been walking this trail since it was opened. many improvements over the years. it is listed as a 4.2 mile loop, but there are 2 side trails off the main trail. 1- is a nice hilly 1\2 mile loop-called the Mary
Woodill trail, (recommend hiking boots, not sneakers-parts wet\muddy) 2nd is off the 'mountain trail' passed the 'high tension wire' towers-approx. 1 mile loop in length, adding to your walk for a total of almost 6 miles!

Great easy scenic trail

Nothing short of beautiful! I have done tons of hiking this year especially and this overview was amazing! We were standing above the clouds looking out at snow-capped mountains while standing on the edge of a rock we just scrambled up! This time of year (11-25-18) the scramble had lots of ice and snow but that wasn’t going to stop me! For anyone scared of the climbing or nervous to due conditions just keep following the cliff face until you get to the easier assent! Either way enjoy the views!

Surprising local find with nice crushed gravel multi-use trail well maintained with diversions.

Easy but icy and snowy walk (spikes made it easy today), not a lot of effort but huge payoff in the view which is breathtaking

Great reward with little risks. You get beautiful views with a low level of intensity or danger. This is a very well kept trail and suitable for any level of experience.

This is a very nice walk. Well maintained. Quite close to a busy road on the eastern side. Mostly flat. Beware, there’s a charge for parking.

Such an awesome experience! The rock scramble was intimidating at first, but the view is worth it all!

we wanted a short hike and I thought this would be perfect as it is lightly trafficked - unfortunately for us we paid $30 to have lots of familes in front of us and behind us wanting to do this hike. this is definitely a moderately to heavily trafficked hike. we ended up not scrambling up the rock face because of how many kids were already working doing so and it seemed like it would be a very slow process as a result. we met a bunch of hikers who were coming down and who mentioned how busy it was on the ledge. not for us.

Incredibly fun and challenging hike! Just be cautious going down as it gets a little confusing which trail leads back to the trailhead.1

I hiked around the lake to Castle Point then back to end of lake and to Beacon Hill FP. Very windy day, but sunny. Gorgeous views. The wind had blown a lot of leaves off the trees but still beautiful.

It’s a pretty hike though interesting when it became part of a photo shoot.

Absolutely beautiful! The fall foliage was beautiful.

Beautiful trail and waterfall views

Short and sweet! Fun little climbs and differing terrain. Educational plaques throughout and pretty views of the creek and river. Easy enough for the kiddos however if you are not an active person, the couple of short climbs may be tough for you.

First time hiking and first time hiking on the Bonticou Crag Trail. I climbed the Crag! It was slightly intimidating at first however it was challenging and an absolute blast! The view at the top is breathtaking! I will definitely do this one again.
