Amazing scenic trail. The upper falls is a challenge to get up and down but well worth the effort.

Interesting, easy walk by the Port of Hueneme. You can see the new BMWs being offloaded and the Chiquira banana boats. The Coast Guard has tours of the lighthouse every third Saturday of the month.

3/4 mile walk to trailhead from parking. Crossed 2 different snakes within the first .25 mile of trailhead. One was red and black

Nice for dogs but gets to be thin Ricky steep trails

Definitely a fun hike. Not very challenging in the beginning but does get difficult if you want to climb to the second waterfall. The worst part is how far you have to park before the hike even starts. The main trail is mostly covered so it’s not as hot. As dude to the best the waterfall is nonexistent. If you want to see water you should wait until a big storm, which in SoCal rarely happens. We went with our two year old and made it just fine. Enjoy and be sure to drink plenty of water.

No waterfall and currently there is a foul smell where the waterfall is located. I suggest coming back after it rains, usually this is a nice hike.

Water fall is empty at times but a great short trail.

Nice down and up loop trail. Well maintained. I went in August so pretty dry but plenty of shaded trail. Interesting view of a satellite station. Cool Ranger Outpost and seated areas at entrance. Don’t blink or you will miss the parking lot. Surrounded by million dollar properties. If your looking for more of a challenging climb go right at start of loop. If your like me and go the path of least resistance go left.

overgrown and unmaintained, would recommend having the city maintain the trail a bit, this little canyon can get sketchy

I got there around 10am on a Saturday. Parking in the gated lot is $15 if you plan to be there a long time and hang out at the beach. I went to bike only, so I parked just outside the lot at a small metered parking area of about 6 stalls. It was $0.25/15 minutes. There was also plenty of free parking along PCH, but not easy to get the bike down the guardrail to the bike path. Bike path is actually the driveway shared for parking lot access. For one hr I had time enough to do the length of the path twice, assemble and disassemble front wheel, took some pictures. The path between parking lot and sand is a no bike zone. Plenty of restrooms along the way and not crowded.

no waterfall, no water at all right now. July 24 2018. A very overgrown trail, wear pants and good hiking shoes, sunscreen. The hike involved climbing rocks while slipping around. I will be back when there is water.

Easy hike and great for kids. Lots of colorful dragonflies this time of year.

When I went on this hike on July 14th, the trails were poorly maintained. So much of the grass and brush was overgrown that for 40% of the hike you’re walking on a path a foot wide, with plants scraping at you up to you waist. The trails are also not clearly marked. The trail has little shade as well. The view of the ocean is nice, but the majority of the hike is in overgrown grass, and this view could similarly been seen by driving to an overlook. I would avoid this hike.

Easy hike through nice houses... Disappointed waterfall but then again it's so cal so was expected

love the view here.

It's amazing how secluded this trail is given its location. It's also quite overgrown, so I recommend wearing pants, bringing a map, and giving yourself plenty of daylight. We decided to turn back about 0.8 miles in because we encountered a rattlesnake in the middle of the trail under some rocks. (We didn't want to deal with it on our way back down in the dark.)

Rubio Canyon is a lightly trafficked, hidden gem. The canyon is very steep, and within a hundred yards you go from suburbia to a rugged wilderness that is popular with canyoneers.

If you extend the hike a bit, you can reach a number of different waterfalls, one of them almost 80 feet high. Just be prepared for some bushwhacking and Class 3 scrambling. You definitely want hiking boots and long pants. You definitely don't want to bring your dog, and if you're afraid of heights, this is not your hike.

But the views are spectacular, and you pass some ruins of the historic Mt Lowe Railway. Very fun and very worth making this a destination hike.

A few nice views of the Coast and Ocean. Not a lot of shade so make sure it is a cool day.

It was a beautiful hike with lots of trees and nature, but there was not much water. We were able to see a little bit of the falls, but it was obvious that the water was going down. So if you want to see the falls, go sooner than later! Still beautiful, for what it is, even though it smells like sulfur.

Really pretty hike! Dog friendly and the waterfall is a great spot to sit before heading back.

Great, easy hike. Dog-friendly and lots of shaded areas.

Family friendly hike. There was resident's honking at everyone to move, there was plenty of horse poop, and the waterfall was dry like trickles falling, and it smelled horrible. when you get to waterfall becarefull while I was there all the loose rocks had 8 hikers fall.

Started from the backbone Trail, we did it all the way up to the summa trail until they waterfall, but it’s not any water at all so we don’t want to come back to the same trail so we went up and did the loop. Between the river and dry water fall going up to do the loop I lost a brown whit blue hat and blue bandanna, little bear if some one find it. Please look for me at face book. Please sent me a message. It my hiking partner. Emilia Cotto . My profile is a little girl with a hat.

Loved this hike! My 5 year hiked the whole way. The “weeping wall” or falls is really beautiful. I would definitely do this hike again.

There is a route on AllTrails that cuts straight to the top of Inspiration Point. Found that route to be quite dangerous. Just be very careful as the trail is overgrown and is pure elevation. Many dangerous tangles and drops. I did this on a very rainy and foggy day which probably didn't help. Was exciting though.

Fun little trail that follows a creek up to a swimming hole.

Not that too tough of a hike. Loved the shade and the destination was beautiful.
