Hiked Breck to Frisco in about 4-1/2 hrs. Easy to follow trail that was pretty well packed. Didn’t need snow shoes. Not a hard hike.

Nice hike! On the easier side of moderate and I clocked it closer to 3 miles, including all the lakes, but still super enjoyable! Beautiful views. Pretty muddy and snowpacked right now but was fine in regular hiking boots. Went on a Saturday and only saw one other person on the trail.

Breck trailhead just past peak 7 base. Easy hike with little elevation through beautiful forests

This hike was so beautiful, the first but is steep but the rest is pretty easy. Each lake was beautiful and so was the overlook and waterfall. I will definitely do this again

The fall colors are beautiful right now. Great, family-friendly hike

Beautiful hike!! It was long and got rough near the end, but the lake and cirque views are worth it!

There was my first hiking in my life. Out of my shape, 49 years hold, 24 pounds backpack and ambition made finish. Actually, having a friend with me who made it before was the key. If I knew how hard it gonna be I would prepare myself before hit the mountain. Once we got there, I felt energized due to the magnificent view. The lake is incredible beautiful, quiet and bright. During 3 days I never got tired to see that surrounded Lake by mountains. Feel like all the place is yours, since it’s not easy getting there. We and maybe 5 parties were there for camping overnight and maybe 10 other parties just went there and returned on the same day. We explored other small lakes located about 1 hour far from lake Charles which kept us in motion. If you like natural and beautiful things I strongly recommend it, just prepare yourself for the endurance!

Great hike to Fancy Lake today-9/19/18. We didn’t start til noon. Fairly easy climb. Lots of good switchbacks. Thank you trail groomers! This lake is stunningly beautiful! Next time we’ll hike on through to Missouri Lake.

Up to Cirque Meadows is very easy. The aspens are changed, making much of the path very colourful.
We were confused at first about the marked campsites which are farther up the trail past the meadow-the sites were nice, site 3 has a good view.
The rest of the way was tougher, and some places we lost the trail as it wound up the boulders.
The end views are breathtaking, and great photo opportunities. I plan on going again in June when the wildflowers are bloomed.

This is one of the prettiest areas in Colorado. Getting all the way to the lake is only possible for a few months during the summer, but still worth the hike even if you get stopped by snow near the top (as I did in May). Be prepared to encounter some gorgeous waterfalls and mountain panoramic views on your way up.

A very beautiful trail not too steep but pretty long. I turned around because I thought I was hiking Mount Royal.

Don’t be put off by the start of the trailhead at Peak 7 saying 10.0miles. We assumed that included the first 2.0 miles from central Breckenridge-not Peak 7. In fact most of the mileage boards were confusing. Some referenced 10.0miles and some referenced the more accurate 8.0miles (almost 9 Miles to Frisco Main Street)
Mostly wooded walk with very little up and down until you reach about 1.5 Miles from Frisco when it is a gently downhill to the Rainbow Lake.
Good walk at 10,000’ with only a few views but the whole walk was beautiful. Worth doing at any time of year.

Great hiking, tons of climbing however. You must be in shape to get there! Unbelievable scenic!

This a nice trail without too many rocky parts. My GPS shows 12.8 miles. Did this hike on a Saturday starting at 8:20am. Very few people on this trail but saw a lot of fishermen at Betty lake.

Hiked Breckenridge to Frisco today - beautiful sunny day, started out 9:30 a.m. or so. Staying in Frisco so took the bus to Breckenridge, and the gondola up. Had trouble staying on trail at first - ended up on a road twice. Lots of large groups at first near Peak 7 lodges. Very forested for the first couple miles. Then came the mountain bikers, lots of them. All were super courteous but after a while I started to worry about corners and blind spots. I used poles for some of the time but I didn't see many other hikers with them. Sun became brutal for the last couple miles. All in all, I took my time and enjoyed myself. As a hiker I felt outnumbered by bikers.

My dog and I drove up for a day hike and spent the night next to Lost Lake Slough. It is an easy loop route around all three lakes and there is a nice spot for camping on the shore of Lost Lake Slough.

Did this hike on Saturday! Very beautiful. You should Plan to go early as we headed up around 11:30 and got caught in the monsoon rains. We were prepared with rain gear, and continued. The lakes were beautiful. I would say this hike is challenging but not hard. Coming back down was quite slippery and steep. I would suggest walking sticks if you have knee issues. They helped me greatly coming back down. We did not make it to verde lake which is just past the highland Mary lakes, as it was 4 and we were worried about getting back down before more storms.

I did this trail yesterday and it was absolutely stunning. The hike up to the Cirque is relatively flat and I think would be doable by most people. It is lined with aspens so would be really pretty if you catch them in turning season. The trail is very diverse-aspens, then pines, some meadows, lots of small lakes, streams, and some waterfalls, wildflowers, berries, mushrooms...it was nice and cool as well. Not crowded. The lakes surrounded by peaks and snow were beautiful blue. I think it was more like 11.4 miles, and I was shocked that it went by so easily, mostly cause a lot of it is mostly flat.

I consider this a get right hike. This hike has everything without being too physically demanding. It has good flat parts, good inclines, a beautiful halfway turnaround spot at the Cirque Meadows, a high alpine lake, aspens, rivers, wild flowers.

If you have been on some rough hikes this will be perfect difficulty to get you right. We started at 8:00, reached Emmaline by 10:10, and were done by 12:45. A dip in the lake was cold but surprisingly refreshing.

Amazing walk up hi.... got off track a few times and never made t to the lake due to rain storms yet it was beautiful and. Hike we will want to do again!!

The entire elevation gain is the 3ish miles closest to the lake, where the incline hits you like a wall! We found ourselves scrambling quite a few times up and around rock walls. The lake is underwhelming, not sure if the final climb was really worth it. The weather was beautiful though, and friendly hikers and packers that we passed along the way.

Amazing birthday hike. At the beginning parked in parking lot across river so had to wade to get to the trailhead. Not a moderate hike due to technical area thru boulders.. Invigorating swim at the lake!

Good hike. Probably a bit spoiled by other hikes in the area. Not as spectacular as Ice Lakes, for example, but still pretty scenic. Nice waterfalls & lakes.

Beautiful sweeping views. The lake is great for fishing and camping. I might rate this a bit harder than moderate especially if you are carrying an overnight backpack. The first lake looks like an infinity pool from heaven. BE WARNED: the road to the trailhead is very rocky and uneven, not for the faint of heart. 4WD and/or SUV is highly recommended although I saw a few sedans that made it up somehow.

Many of the views are very beautiful. However, with all of the pine beetle kill, there are hundreds of downed trees that cover portions of the trail, particularly between the trails near the Cataract lakes in the north down to Boulder Lake. There is evidence that the Forest Service has tried to clear the trails by chainsawing out the dead pines that have fallen onto the trail(s), but they can't keep up with the blowdown.

There is plenty of water, and you never walk more than 2 or 3 miles between decent water sources.

There is just one "Fancy Lake." The trail to it is about 2.6 miles with an elevation gain of 1,500 feet. (The contours on these maps are confusing because the contour interval is 10 meters (about 33 feet) whereas every fifth contour is labelled with the elevation in feet.) The first 1.5 mile passes through pine forest before some meadows with wildflowers start to appear. This part is moderately difficult.

The trail from the lake to Fancy Pass gains about 870 feet in 0.7 mile, of which the last half is especially steep and difficult. In particular, it is easy to miss where the trail jogs to the right, and climb up a natural rock chute that was used for dropping mine tailings to a lower elevation. The trail is difficult enough, but the mining chute still has loose tailings in it and is worse. It is hard to appreciate the scenery while focusing on your footing, but as others have said, the view from the pass -- particularly to the north down the valley of Cross Creek -- is spectacular.

Most people who get to Fancy Pass continue to Missouri Pass and return to the trailhead by way of the Missouri Lakes Trail, which starts at the same parking area. I think that that route has better alpine scenery with less extremely difficult trail conditions than the Fancy Pass Trail described here.

I really liked this trail. We were on it by 8:30 on a Friday and had it to ourselves. Beautiful area. Peaceful without people around.

Be forewarned that the road to this trail is not paved for sometime if you are coming from Silverton; maybe 30 minutes plus going 5-15 mph over rocky terrain. As you approach the trail head there is a small parking area at the bottom about .5 miles from the head, this is where we parked because the road up to the trail head seemed a bit tough. If you have a proper suv or awd lifted car, it should be fine, if not, it might be a tough climb up for an inexperienced driver. Weather conditions were constantly changing in late July as well, with 10 degree temp swings with rain/thunder. Beautiful hike.
