Great hike !!! So much fun. First 2 miles is FLAT and EASY, very deceiving. Last mile-ish is all uphill with the metal ropes. It is about 3.4 miles EACH WAY! Not sure why it’s listed as 5.1 miles total. It took 2 hours to top and an hour and 40 min back down.

Great trail to take visitors for a short 1hr hike.

I thought this was a very cool hike and would definitely do it again. I was well prepared for it but it still is very challenging. I was worried about coming back down but it wasn’t too bad.
I recommend going earlier in the morning or on a cooler day because it gets pretty hot.

Beautiful desert county. Lots of wildlife curious about the ponies.
Pretty dense and narrow in places.
Some hairy spots where I felt more comfortable to dismount my mare and lead her.

Decided to hike this on a weekend trip to AZ visiting family. I was unprepared and didn't bring gloves so I turned around at the base of the cables. But plan to buy gloves and go back tomorrow!

I was the only person out there for most of the morning but it is a holiday weekend and I started at 5:30 am.

The switch back gets you in a few places, but overall I really enjoyed the hike. I am a newbie to hiking and this has me feeling i found a new hobby/passion.

Pace yourself, take plenty of water and wear good shoes. I had running shoes only and my toes are a little banged up. Might pick up hiking shoes too before tomorrow morning.

Definitely a challenge albeit it doesn't seem like it when you first start out. The beginning is beautiful with a great walk through flat desert but then, as another reviewer pointed out, the switchbacks start! After the switch backs, you get hit with cables and some moderate rock climbing. It's a lot of fun, in my opinion, but you just gotta be prepared. Bring enough water as I almost ran out on my way back!

Not for the first time hiker, young children, or if you are not in good health or fitness. Requires upper body strength to ascend the cables. Make sure you wear appropriate footwear(hiking shoes) and have gloves for the cables and steeper climbs. Was worth the trip up!

This is my “go to” trail for a good wheeling experience. The three feathers obstacle and big hill just before you get to it are a lot of fun. You can spend a full day out on the trails and checking out the fall. If you have a 4x4 it’s your passport to this diamond in the middle of the desert!

Completed this great trail in a stock 4Runner with AT tires. Needed spotting coming down the 3 Feathers obstacle to avoid dented doors. We came across multiple boulder ranges with rocks 10"-12" in size and quite a few water crossings. When you get to the Chiva waterfall, you can boulder hop to the left or stay to the right for an easier path to walk to the falls. This was a great run.

This area is too crowded for my taste. Great if hiking alone, I suppose, since there are plenty of people around.

starts out with a pretty easy desert stroll and then after 1.5ish miles switchbacks hitcha. it's a full body work out with the arm strength required for the cables. completely worth it!

Really fun hike. I’m an advanced hiker and if would’ve been a helpful comment to have before I went into this hike thinking I was going to die.
The incline wasn’t too intense it’s tolerable difficult but tolerable.
Going up the cables isn’t bad there’s places where you can put your feet just bring gloves and good shoes. Going down the steep part of the cables I recommend going down backwards. And obviously bring water

This trail is flat and easy I recommend it for all ages. But know you might get your feet wet because you cross a creek twice. This trail is a nice walk and it is very relaxing.

Really easy

It was definitely a booty kicker! And pushes your limits specially if you have a bit of fear of heights. Also it seemed longer than we prepared to do and more than 6 miles etc.. I recorded 8 miles at least round trip going to the peak summit and back. Also having a lot of water and gloves helped a lot! Definitely an experience and will be hurting for a couple days ha!

Great trail!! To go to Mt. Lemmon from where I live is a 90 mile round trip. This is only 5 miles from my home and always a peaceful hike!

This trail winds through gorgeous forest of saguaro and lots of civilisation. Kind of boring on foot for me, but it looks like a lot of fun for mountain bikes. Absolutely no shade.

This is a beautiful, mostly very easy trail with one steep hill to get down. It is also very crowded with people and dogs and horses, which can be fun or stressful or fun depending on how everyone gets along.

Should be rated easy.

The petroglyphs are in the parking area. We found one small petroglyph on the trail. The trail is actually a dirt road.

.

This was simply gorgeous and fun to ride. Not too hard but not boring by any means. What a gorgeous place. My problem is wanting to stop and take pics of everything. Love this place!!!

Great winter hike. We went with our kids and it was great.
