Great hike with great views. The first part is very steep. There aren't any bathrooms along the trail. Well trafficed and maintained.

Beautiful hike, highly recommend making the short hike to see the Nike Missile Launch site. It’s the only one in the US still open to the public. Open Saturdays 12-4pm

Very pretty views, and the cows are fun, too.

Interesting trail because you go up and then down adn then back up again. Would do it again.

Very rocky, most of trail spent looking at one’s feet

Great place to bring your pup! Fun running in the dunes - great views

This is by far the best trail I’ve had the opportunity to hike. The views are astonishing. Some parts were steep with lose rocks but overall this hike was easy. Not very crowded and very quiet. Will definitely be back several more times.

best place to hike with dogs

This is more of a dog park than a trail. Great if you like dogs. To be avoided if you don’t like dogs or are running.

Went on this trail this morning with my two dogs. The steep parts were killer, but doable. Got a great workout in. Half of the hike I only saw 1 person, but the beginning and end I saw tons of people, so if you’re looking to have quiet time, come early. I started at 8:45am on Saturday.

Our dog has a bad knee and sensitive paws, and the first 2 miles she went very slow. The third, more eucalyptus-forested last mile of the trail she had no problem and was all downhill.

Took 2 dogs and was a challenging hike with steep hills. Wide paths and clearly mark. Shady tree landscape. Would do again

gorgeous views. lots of sand and dogs

Easy and beautiful

Really great hike except for the section after you reach Grizzly peak boulevard. It's hard to find the next section of the trail (you need to turn left at the end of the trail and walk along Grizzly peak to find the trail entrance) and then the next section is not well maintained. Also the trail is not well marked so have a map handy. If it wasn't for that segment, I'd rate this hike a 4/5. Great views.

We did the full trail and it's definitely a solid workout (some of the steeper climbs I've done). It looks us about 2.5hrs with some water breaks. Some shaded and some direct sun. Recommend plenty of water, bug spray, and suncreen. We also brought our pup who loved the climb as well and was off leash the majority of the time. Also definitely recommend solid trail shoes or hiking boots.

We arrived around 9am and had no issues with parking right at the trail head.

Fantastic hike that will kick your butt!

Long enough and ends in a lake where you can buy things from a shop and swim

Steep and at an incline most of the way so wear shoes with good grips as it is slippery downhill. Offers great views of bay.

Beautiful views of the Pacific, but too many dogs off leash to be a favorite for me.

This trail was beautiful and great for a beginner!

this trail is overall beautiful. pass by the stream and be surrounded by redwoods. be prepared for some stretches without much trees and sun exposure in a sunny day during the Meadows Canyon Trail

Be prepared. Just be prepared. It’s steep but rewarding!

It’s really steep, which makes the return trip (descent) a bit difficult. The majority of it is in the sun, with limited tree coverage, so be sure to wear sunscreen! I prefer some of the other fire trail hikes that are more wooded.

BEST dog park in the Bay!
