The trail was a nice hike with beautiful views on the bluffs. Well marked and maintained.

Nice little trail. The vegetation is low for about half of the trail, letting you see out towards the ocean. The rest of the trail is walled in by high bushes. The section along the bluff is nice. Trail is wide enough that there's little problem with brushing up against plants, which can cause issues during tick season.

On the short side, but beautiful views and lots of birds. I could see this being a good spot to bring kids :)

Penny pond loop is beautiful in fall! easy to navigate. use dirt road entrance off red creek rd (look for concrete monuments on right side 2/10 mile down) hike road then follow blue markers. about 3 miles. didn't do full trail which includes white trail, just blue around pond.

Not a challenging hike but still a very fun one.

Easy trail , clearly marked , great views , little elevation and beach

Very nice trail for a hike or bike ride. Only grip is it's a little short. Rode my bike and did all of the connected trails it only took an hour. The bluffs over looking the water are beautiful and one of the two bunkers are open if you look carefully. Not that I would know, but it seems like it would have a great view from the roof that may or may not be accessible from a ladder on the inside.

BEWARE - TICKS!!! My dog and I each had THOUSANDS of embedded seed ticks after an hour walk on this trail, requiring medical attention. I will never go here ever again. 9-2-18

ran this yesterday. I ended up doing 4.3 out and back. could add a little more on if you go all the way up to the greenway parking lot. Flat, paved mostly. I'll definitely do it again.

es muy bueno lo puedo recomendar es fácil acceso y calidad de area

Beautiful views and loved the hike, but BEWARE taking your dog! Despite staying in the middle of the trail, all 3 of ours were literally covered, no joke, in thousands of "seed ticks" (tick larvae) from paw to chest. We had never heard of this before and it's absolutely disgusting. Will go again, but not taking the dogs unless it's the dead of winter.

This trail is awful...very hard to find, nothing to it, also stepped somehow on a nest of seed ticks or chiggers and my legs got all bit up, never happened in any other trail, a few days later my leg is still burning and itchy from hundreds of bites.

Go to the next trail don’t bother with this one

A really good trail for families. I have a 14, 11, and 8 year old and they loved it. It is mostly flat and spends about 80% of the time in the woods. The other part is at the half way point at the beach/pavilion area. It was a very crowded beach day and I was the only person with a hiking bag. They have picnic tables at the beach area so we were able to have snacks/lunch there. We saw only one person in the wooded area but a TON of people at the beach area.

An easy loop trail with good views and an enjoyable hike.

Beautiful water views

Looked like a great hike but want able to go for a mile in because of mosquitoes. These bugs were everywhere and made it uncomfortable. They were biting and swarming around us. Also, beware of ticks.

This hike had lots of different trails, things to see, easy directions, and parking.

Great trail. Be aware of the green trail markers. They looks like the blue trail markers. Added an additional hour. I will definitely be hitting up the trail again.

Nice. easy side of moderate. would have been a little bored but we took the gold trail for a rockier path and better views. the old pavilion was really neat and enjoyed climbing on the jette at the beach. a little humid and 79 degress.

I would have given in 5 stars, but I found that the trail markers while on the beach were nonexistent, and so I ended up on a private road leading to someone's home, and had to backtrack. Walking the beach was strenuous, and so a 5.3 mile hike turned into more of a 6.5 mile hike. Don't get me wrong, all in all it was a decent hike and the views of the LI Sound were beautiful. It was very peaceful being I was the only one on the trail. Definitely would like to come back in the summer so I can take a swim when I get hot.

Good bike trail with several very scenic segments. Easy to find parking at Hither Hills Overlook from where the trail will turn left just few meters before crossing the gravel/dirt road. If you're riding the bike, do not take the road.

Love it! Watch out for ticks!

It’s a little rocky in parts but overall very nice trails

Lovely surprise to find the trail path wide so no worry about ticks. Started at the Mashashamuet Park area, parking on Bridgehampton Sag Harbor Turnpike side of the park near the playground. Lots of turnoffs available to futher explore the different lakes. I walked the RR path to the end and back. Took about 2 hours total.

Trail is nice and wide. There are nice views of the bay from the bluffs. The beach walk feels long as there’s not much to see. The lighthouse is interesting but there is no info about it there. Then you have to walk through the park on a road until you reach your car. Meh. It’s good to get your steps in if you have time to kill.

If you enjoy hiking near the beach, then this is the trail for you. It can get muddy quickly, but the views overlooking the Atlantic Ocean are as good as it gets. It's only about a 10 minute hike until you get to the bluffs overlooking the water and then it's really up to you how far you want to go. I suggest taking the Roosevelt Run for the best scenic views!

Great and easy hike for Kids and pets!
