HikingGreat!No shade

This is a favorite of my family. There is always wildlife on or around the trail such as deer, hawks, blue jays, and sometimes rattlesnakes. There is not much shade so it’s best to go in the morning or evening. Make sure to use sun screen and bring water. Easy trail for young kids. There is a part that you can go off and climb higher for more advanced hikers. Make sure to teach your kids what to do if you hear a rattlesnake! We’ve come across one on the trail about 3 times now.

I can’t believe I’ve never hiked here until now. It’s so lovely! Pretty views and easy trail. Lots of overlooks and places to stop for a beer. Hiked on Sunday and didn’t need spikes. Tons of picnic tables. This would be a great place to bring visitors.

Went early on a Monday morning with trail mostly to myself. Nice, short hike and the rock formations were a great place to chill for a bit with the dog

Great trail mainly through the woods but also some good views! Dogs are allowed on the whole trail (someone mentioned below that they aren’t).

Some icy/muddy spots but didn’t need spikes. One member of our party ended up using poles for part of it.

Started around 9-9:30, parking lot was still empty. There was still a lot of ice / slush - spikes not totally necessary but could be helpful!

Beautiful hike, barely and ice on the trail left. Make sure to download the various maps. It’s easy to find yourself on connecting trails be accident.

Nice, laid back trail! Easy parking at 9AM. Pretty views and a nice lunch spot at the top. Spikes could be helpful on parts but you could get by without them. Lotsa cute doggos!!

Great little trail with surprisingly decent elevation, takes you to an amazing view of the rock formations. Still muddy in spots today, but no spikes or anything needed

Nice hike, veryyyy crowded (went on Saturday afternoon, so that was expected.) A Mountain biker almost wiped us out, don’t hike with headphones on.

Great hike close to the city. I got here at 8am and plenty of spots. Finished in about three hours and the lot was full. Took the cut off for the panoramic view which added about .50 miles. Total elevation about 1500! Safe and clean. Spikes would help but not required.

If you love crowds and lots of mountain bikers this is the trail for you. I’d give it 4 stars on a weekday but 3 on the weekend. Great views but not sure it’s worth it.

HikingGreat!

great hike! very eroded and lots of people though. also, the end destination of this hike isnt south table mountain, the true summit is further up. this takes you to the top of "castle rock." but, anyways, great day to get out! perfectly dry today!
