Good day hike with lots of optional routes to make it short or long. Great workout without being exhausted. Worth the drive for f you’re not from the area.

Perfect weather. Trail is in fantastic condition, just a couple muddy spots. No blowdowns, snow, or ice. Whistle Lake is partially frozen. Sporadic trail traffic, which made for just the right amount of solitude.

This trail was mostly very easy with some challenging switchbacks at the end depending on which direction you take. At the start of the trail we went left toward “Goose Rock Perimeter Trail”. I think if you go right and take “Goose Rock Summit Trail” first it’s an easier hike because you’re going down the switchbacks vs up. We had our 6 year old with us and he complained his legs hurt after going up the switchbacks for a bit but we took a few breaks and it was doable. Quick trip for healthy adults. Longer trip with kids in tow. Views were great! But yes, power lines get in the way of some of the view. We did spot a seal!

definitely worth doing for the views - best is in winter to avoid the crowds - there is some elevation so if you have physical limitations best to drive down through the main park entrance

very beautiful lake and not a lot of people. I did end up taking a side trail that I didn't mean to but it was still a good hike.

Didn’t want to waste this warm, sunny day. With young kids in tow, we did the Goose Rock perimeter and summit. Lovely day to be outside.

The summit has some good switchbacks but this was an easy hike and a well maintained trail. We were lucky enough to get a parking spot in the lot when we arrived.

Great trail with a lot of variety. A must do while on the island!

Nice loop hike. Parking lot was 1/2 full at noon on a weekday. Views are not spectacular but the the trek is interesting and very enjoyable. Trails are in good shape and well marked. Hike is relatively flat with enough elevation change to be aerobic. There are a few spots around the lake to have lunch. We added a diversion up to Sugarloaf which has a nice viewpoint, if you don't mind the extra elevation gain.

Also, it was very helpful to have the offline map, as there are lots of bisecting trails and it would be easy to divert from the trek without gps. (There are cell towers on Mt Erie, so online maps are probably available for much of the hike.) As noted, trail 247 (the South and West side of Mt Erie) is more bony than the rest of the hike.

Great sites all along this hike .

Love D-Pass Bridge views! But “hike” as described is more of a walk. We take all out of town visitors to this landmark...a challenge to find parking on the weekends.

Nice easy hike - with a couple of uphill sections that would be difficult for a small dog. Great views of beaches and deception pass.

Did this hike a few days ago and it was fantastic! We got there around 830ish and there was only one other car. There was fog so the summit wasn't anything impressive for us, but going down from the summit to the perimeter trail was a steep down hill! Would have to be part goat to climb up haha but I fell in love with this trail with the views of the ocean and the great diversity!

Parked just on the south end of the bridge. Pleasant walk over the bridge spans and great views in both directions. Returned to the parking area and took the short walk down the hill to the beach area. Lots of people fishing and just looking at the water. Very peaceful during the week.

easy hike. been a few times. once when I was 7 months pregnant. beautiful views. saw seals once and otters. not too crowded during the weekdays. very crowded on weekends

Pretty. short walk around and over bridge. Not really a hike but beautiful.

Fantastic hike. Great views, easy parts combined with some nice, but strenuous uphills. Loved it!

The hike itself was gorgeous! Short, sweet, and beautiful views, and puppy approved.. Some of the switch backs were pretty dusty and loose from lack of rain but we managed. We admired a couple seals while eating a snack along the perimeter trail. My only complaint would be trying to find a parking spot among the hordes of people and cars admiring the views from the bridge.

This trail is not too hard and it captures the views of deception pass beautifully!

Easy trail that our pup enjoyed. We did a bit of the perimeter trail then took the SW trail up to the summit. That part definitely deserves the moderate tag. We only saw 1 other couple on Friday before Memorial Day Weekend.

This trail was perfect! It may have been because Wifey and I went on a Tuesday morning (no crowds at a typically busy weekend spot) and it was nearly 70 degrees (though, chilly at the start and near the water), but I think it was more due to the trail itself — it had everything! It gave us incredible views, beautiful woods, stunning wildflowers, and a sweaty elevation gain...what else could you ask for?! Oh, and my PB&J was dynamite...

This trail was great! You got a little bit of everything. Wild flowers, wild rhodies, a nice treed hiking trail and even access to the beach. We went on a Tuesday morning so there were no crowds however hiking around and then taking the trail to the summit was pretty straight up. I would say it was a little bit more hard than moderate. We didn’t mind the power lines because getting to the top of them was an accomplishment and the view was beautiful! The highlight of the hike at the top was have a bald eagle fly about 9 or 10 feet right over our heads! Amazing!

You can park on either end of the bridge, think best to park on the north side so you can read about Deception Pass and walk across. Path takes you under the bridge and down a lush fern edged trail to the beach which is absolutely beautiful at sunset. Short hike with great views, spectacular scenery. Can be sunny or shrouded in mist/fog. Don't miss it.

Absolutely stunning, quick hike. We timed our arrival at the bridge with sunset, which was out-of-this-world breathtaking. Definitely make time to go if you’re in the area!

A very nice place. Great scenery with breathtaking views. Love the place.

Great views from atop the bridge, well worth your time to stretch your legs and talk a walk. North side pull out parking is free, every where else is $10 for the day $30 for the year. Free bath rooms at South end parking lot.

This was a beautiful hike. There is a great variety of things to see. I enjoyed the undulating terrain. We had a group consisting of young & old who found it to be slightly challenging at a few points but was easily overcome with little assistance and rest periods. I like that there are many different modalities that were able to participate as well as the multiple different routes that were available. I found walking sticks useful it help me over the rocks and roots. Highly recommend!
