1/2021. What a pretty drive with so many lovely colors to see. I do recommend stopping at the overlook and checking it out. Totally worth it.
1/2021. There’s no official trail. You just walk down the smooth salty path for as far as you like. I do encourage to go towards the edges and further back to get a better view of larger salt clumps and the unique designs of salt on the floor. Today it was sooo cold and windy today. So do bring a warm coat in January especially in the early morning.
1/2021. This is not a trail. You literally drive on a short dirt road to a parking area to enjoy the funny salt/ sand structures. You can walk on and around them but be careful as they’re really sharp. Today it was very windy so it made it a bit of a challenge trying not to fall on the structures.
1/2021. It’s a nice overview but I think it’s better to go to the next stop on scenic drive where you can play on the hills. The overview was really cold and windy today which made it difficult to enjoy (the wind was actually pushing you).
Absolutely gorgeous
Not particularly spectacular at this time of year, but a good stop if you’re nearby doing other hikes.
Lovely walk in the winter time. Once you walk out a little further you’ll get the raised salt flats. Bring water and stay hydrated.
Not much to see. But the views are beautiful
Great sunset drive
Kinda crowded. The walk to the “nice” areas is about a mile out.
Must visit place in the park.
Definitely Recommend this. One of the must do drives in Death Valley National Park.
Busy- lots of people not wearing face-coverings (we are still in a COVID surge). I didn't walk all the way out because this day was a busy day of sightseeing and I wasn't all that interested with the crowds, honestly. Maybe I'll get up early next time to beat the crowds a little further out.
Not really a hike but unique and interesting spot
Easy walking trail with a paved road and parking lot. There is water farther out. Fun to say you've been to the lowest point in North America. For pictures and information on this trail and many more follow me on Instagram @naturenatephotography
Definitely small cars only. This road is small and has sharp turns. Beautiful stops along the way. I recommend stopping at all of them. This will take up an hour or two at Death Valley. For pictures and information about this trail and many more follow me on Instagram @naturenatephotography
The salt flats are other-worldly. Very unique and beautiful.
