Climb sand dunes is always fun. Easy access, and be careful with sun even in winter.

I did the hike to Red Cathedral and back, but I’d love to go back and explore more of this majestic landscape. I highly recommend this unique and otherworldly hike.

Not a hike but a great view

5 stars for a sunset view! After a long day of hiking this was a nice end of the day stroll

It was one of my best trail in this park.

Great view! Your knees can get a little shaky when you have a fear of heights, but the view will make you forget the fear!

review from 11-12.
perfect weather! very few people along the trail. took a few wrong turns along the way and had a great time exploring in seclusion

cool views. i didn't even go on the trail. i just parked at the viewpoint got out, took a few pics and took off afterwards because the temperature dropped down to like 40 degrees ( this was on the 12th and I wasnt dressed for that chilly, windy weather...the rest of the day was perfect, warm prob mid 70s). so overall, it was cool, I wish I had ventured out on the trail with the appropriate attire

high reward and payoff for a nealy nonexistent hike. amazing view

spent the morning on the dunes for the sunrise a couple weeks ago and ended up walking around aimlessly for longer and farther than I intended. got some cool pics while heading out to one of the bigger dunes in the distance. dunes look cool even when viewing from a distance

Absolutely beautiful hike. Decent incline near Zabriski Point. if you dont want to have to start or end you hiking with the heavier incline I recommend starting at the Golden Canyon parking lot and hiking the loop around. The view from Red Cathedral is an absolute must see!

Really neat! Go to the end for the best pictures...less mud in the cool crystal formations. And less people! Hiked 1.7 miles round trip.

The golden Canyon Trail is a short hike up Golden Canyon to the base of the Red Cathedral formations. this is a popular day-hike that starts at a marked trailhead with parking on Badwater Rd. just south of Furnace Creek.

The first mile of the the trail is a mild hike up a canyon surrounded on all sides by golden rock formations and slot canyons. After mile one reaches a junction for the Gower Gulch trail. Continue past this point into a narrow slot canyon. The trail becomes more difficult here, requiring one to scramble over rocks until reaching the top of the slot canyon and the base of Red Cathedral. The view at the top here is spectacular!

After enjoying the top, head back down and out of the slot canyon. Then either hike back down Golden Canyon to the trailhead, or extend the hike and take the junction for Gower Gultch.

(As anywhere in DVNP, the heat can be extreme, even outside of summer. Carry extra water!)

Here is the lowest point in North America, and is probably the most popular roadside spot in DVNP. One can view the area from the roadside overlook, or hike .5 mile trail can be taken out onto the salt flat itself. there are also some saline pools near the trailhead/overlook. Very unique spot in a very unique National Park. Just be prepared for the heat, even outside of summer!

Best place for sunrise in Death Valley. Really nice paved path and places to sit at the top to watch the sun come up.

Super hot! Everyone was right- a lot further than it looks but go all the way to the end!

Not really a hike, just a short walk to the AMAZING viewpoint. Really pretty!

Super hot and much further than you think it is. Deceiving, but so worth it!

Stupid hot, but insanely awesome!

Started this hike from Zabriskie Point early in the morning watching the sunrise bounce off the golden red hills as we made our trip counter clockwise around the loop. Going in this direction the first part of the hike is downhill and the return is a gradual upward walk. We elected to go this way to catch the early morning light on the hills and were glad we did. If you go later in the day you may want to start at the bottom and work your way around clockwise. This way gives a gradual up and my leave you some shadow in the canyons to cool down on your way back.

This is a nice loop hike which is on the easy side of moderate. If you don’t mind a few people on the trail I would recommend this trail as the one to take in the area. If you want to be on your own try the in and out Desolate Canyon trail we did not run into anyone.

It's super hot during the day but n awesome feeling. Make sure you carry water and wear full sleeves.

It's not much of a hike, but the view was amazing, couldn't believe it was true. Will cherish the moment for a lifetime... Its awesome awesome awesome and its a MUST!!

Its a nice place was there during sunset and had a great time.

A beautiful somewhat challenging hike. I hiked it counterclockwise and was happy I did. The trail starts out a little drab but gets nicer as you go. There is a nice view towards the end after the trail takes you up a hill.

We arrived just in time to catch the sunset with a storm looming behind us. So glad we stopped, it’s definitely worth the walk,

Easy little walk from the parking lot with extraordinary views. You can walk into the canyons and explore as well! There’s no set path once into the canyon from the view point.

Completely flat and amazing. Had an otherworldly vibe to it! When we went it was exceptionally windy according to the locals and it was so fun walking on the flats and having the wind whip us around!

Hot but amazing view of the valley !

My fave hike in Red Rock, I’m there quite often. It starts off easy then can get a littl difficult so make sure to bring plenty of water. If you hike into the canyon you can either relax at the top r go further in. If you do prepare to do some scrambling.
