Best place for sunrise in Death Valley. Really nice paved path and places to sit at the top to watch the sun come up.

Easy hike with kids. Nice views of the valley too

Not really a hike, just a short walk to the AMAZING viewpoint. Really pretty!

Nice short in and out hike up a red sandstone slot canyon to a natural bridge and dry waterfall. Easy hike to the end.

It's not much of a hike, but the view was amazing, couldn't believe it was true. Will cherish the moment for a lifetime... Its awesome awesome awesome and its a MUST!!

Its a nice place was there during sunset and had a great time.

Easy little walk from the parking lot with extraordinary views. You can walk into the canyons and explore as well! There’s no set path once into the canyon from the view point.

Beautiful! Go at sunrise if possible.

This is absolutely breath taking. Don’t go at the hottest point of the day or you’ll burn out quickly, it’s a lot harder to walk in the sand than it looks. Keep going past where all of the people are and it will quickly turn silent with almost no footprints. This quickly becomes otherworldly.

Fun hike and great photo opportunities especially during sunset! Difficulty varies depending on how steep the dunes are. Saw a few folks bring a sled or snowboard to go down the dunes. Looked like they had a blast riding down the dunes

A really nice hike through a narrow canyon that soon widens only to narrow down again. It's in these narrows that rock slides block the trail and you need to scramble over them. The scramble is not difficult and is actually good fun, just don't expect flat terrain all the way.
Beginning of June, the temperatures easily got over 110, so be sure to carry plenty of water with you if you're planning to hike further into the canyon. On the bright side, in the heat, we had the canyon to ourselves.

Extremely hot here in June, even the wind felt like a hair drier. You don't really need to hike the whole way as shown on the map here, in fact, the parking lot is directly at the beginning of the canyon and the Natural Bridge is perhaps 10 or 15 minutes up the trail. I still enjoyed the short hike though

Not much of a hike or even a walk from the parking lot but the view of the badlands is simply beautiful, especially at sunset and, I imagine, sunrise.

A great view that is definitely worth the drive up here. You can chose how far you want to hike and in what direction, or if you're feeling lazy, you don't need to hike anywhere at all and just enjoy the view from the parking lot. Either way, this is a great spot to start your visit of Death Valley if you are coming from the Death Valley Junction. Also, unlike the valley floor, the temperatures are almost bearable up here.

Bring a pair of shades and a bandana or something to cover up your head and face in case you’re caught in a sand storm while in sand dunes. Otherwise you’ll be finding sand for weeks not only in all your clothing but parts of your body that you would never suspect could hold any sand

Loved this for the early morning Sun. Blue light was amazing!

Easiness depends on what you climb. We climbed one of the bigger dunes in the back and we were huffing and puffing. Such an awesome experience though. We saw a coyote den in one of the valleys between the dunes. It was pretty neat. Even nicer when there’s no foot prints on the dunes.

Smooth marble canyon and fun dry falls to climb. The children loved exploring here.

nice easy hike, not too crowded and 87 degrees this morning.

Multiple different ways on to the path, look around. Death Valley is large so not all paths are well marked but tread paths are clear.

This was a nice hike through a canyon. 20 minutes total and nice to have shade from the canyon walls!

This is breathtaking. Don't worry about those saying that it's too populated. Definitely take the short trail to the overlook and then get away from the crowds by exploring down below. You'll get up close and personal with some seriously gorgeous scenery and won't see another human.

A great canyon hike with lots of different options for every hiking skill level. Highly recommended climbing some of the spur trails to get great views of the valley.

My favorite hike in Death Valley. Cool marble canyon, quiet, easy hike. Just as you come out of the first tight canyon, go to the left and follow a footpath to the top of a rock hill and get some great photos of the canyon from above.

Safe to do with shoes off. Easy "hike", but can be tough if you choose to climb the taller dunes. You can pick how far you and which dunes you choose to climb. We went to the tallest peak and sat for a very sandy lunch (the wind can pick up and get sand in your food)! Go in the morning - especially if you want to do it with you shoes off - the sand facing the sun gets really hot on the way back.

The first part was definitely the tighest canyon, but just going the first .5 to .75 miles definitely cuts out a lot of cool views. after the tight canyons from start it grows into a huge walled canyon with so much more to see. I was planning on just going the first .5 miles based off recommendations but had to keep going.

The bridge is only 500 meters away from the trailhead. Honestly, it's not a place surprising me.
