Beautiful hike. We were a bit leery about heading out given all the bug reports. We came prepared with Repellent and while we used it, the bugs weren’t that bad. They were mostly at the very top and a bit worse on our way down. I’m glad we didn’t let them keep us away.

The trail is very rocky so I definitely recommend hiking boots. There is also quite a bit of water on the trail in places so plan accordingly with waterproof shoes.

We logged 5.6 miles on my Garmin vs. the 4.x listed on the trail summary. We stuck to the main trail so not sure where the discrepancy is coming from.

Enjoy the hike! Worth it.

nice walk to the old kiln and nice good cold swim at the river! but warmer than lake 22

Great quick hike. Absolutely beautiful day and not too many hikers.
Up and down in 2:04.

Bugs

Love it beautiful views a little bit crowded but is worth the effort

Was an awesome easy hike and amazing views.

super easy. great with the kids

Great hike up to a spectacular view of rattlesnake lake. This was a little heart pumper going up, however completely manageable. We got there on a Monday around 10:30am and there was plenty of parking.

Great hike! Brought a couple of dogs and they loved it. Especially the extra hike to the water. It was pretty easy overall. Some parts are pretty narrow and we got eaten by mosquitos. But it was very pretty!

If your a beginner, don't do this. Not to mention it's already over crowded. This is not a starter. Do some easier hikes then do this one. It will be worth it!

first time with the family best hike this far. beautiful scenery and fresh air. dog friendly easy hike.

it was an easy trail to the top. you will see the sign of a teen who passed away by falling from the cliff. so one thing to be noted: please be aware and conscious. the view from the top was blocked as it was cloudy. but worth a try for its nearness to the city of redmond

Summer 2017.
Headed up after lunch on a week day to avoid the crowds. Solid hike and great lake. The biting flies were awful though and no amount of bug spray could keep them away for long.

Great hike. Gorgeous views. My grandkids loved playing in the lake. We will definitely do it again.

Unbelievable views! We went early and didn’t run into too many people. I really didn’t think the snow was too terrible to cross over but the bugs were insane! Definitely will be prepared for those next time. I didn’t bring my dog and glad about that. The rocks at the top are not dog friendly :)

Great hike as always! Would have enjoyed it more if less people were there.

We arrived at the trailhead at 8:40am today. We find a parking spot in the parking lot. The trail was not very busy when we hike. The view at the top was stunning! It’s a relatively easy trail in my opinion, not so much as moderate. When we hike down, the amount of people gets larger and we feel fortunate to start early.

Started the trail at 830 am to avoid a lot of the crowd but it was still pretty packed at that time of day (probably because it’s a weekend). Moderate hike to Rattlesnake ledge and the view was definitely worth it! We continued on to Eastridge (I think that’s what it was called) which is 2.4 miles up from Rattlesnake ledge. There is a great view if Mt Si from the top with a bench to enjoy the view.

I went a couple months ago on a Monday afternoon and it was still crazy busy! The view is beautiful and the hike up was very scenic.

Definitely a good amount of snow still on the trail (7/14), makes going down pretty slippery. Hard but great! For me, 1:40 up, 1:40 down. Go early because it got busy quick. And bring bug spray.

This hike was gorgeous! Multiple types of terrain the whole way up. You hit snow around the mile marker- it is slightly slushy, so if you aren’t stable on your feet, I recommend trekking poles. I did without and was careful, all went well. There is quite a bit of bouldering, mainly towards the top of the hike. But boy are the views worth it! Loved that the fire look out had maps of what you could see from the distance. Note to all wanting to do this hike- bring bug spray! I reapplied 2 times because bugs were so bad.

Couldn’t ask for a better day. Gorgeous views and a moderate challenge. Not too crowded. Move fast to avoid the flies. Road up could use some tlc but nothing a little tactical swerving can’t get around. Dog loved the snow

Round trip is 8 miles. Once the switchbacks are completed the up hike is pretty simple, so take your time on the switchbacks. For me who is moderately fit, it took 2hours up and hour fifteen minutes on the way down. Carry good amount of water and a nice snack to enjoy near the lake.

Hard work but amazing views! Still a lot of snow for the last mile or so, and bugs bugs bugs bugs! I wouldn't
hike this trail with small dogs unless you're prepared to carry them across the boulder fields near the top. But bigger experienced hiking dogs will be fine!

such a great experience!! This place was my first mountain hike ever. Seeing those kinds of beautiful view made me so much interested doing mountain hiking. It inspired me alot and that I won’t never forget this place. After I went here last 2 months ago, I started to do more hiking trails and discover myself that i love hiking.

Gets steep at the top but the overall hike itself is easy and doable. For the hike, the views at the top are breathtaking. Recommend hike for all Seattlelites and visitors to the area

this was my very first hike. I made some mistakes. if you are going with more experienced hikers distribute the weight of bags thoughtfully. I had a backpack and it was way too heavy it made the experience way more hard than it needed to be. Learned a lesson! Also might wanna go with someone patient and helpful if you are a beginner. I had to stop a lot. Also remember to stretch! The view tho. so beautiful

hard but amazing 360°views!
