I snowshoed this trail in march and it was so fun! Flat, and accessible. Some were mountain biking it.

Just in to the lake and back. 4.3 miles. First half burnt by recent forest fires. Second half and lake just fine. Deserted and still beautiful.

Beautiful, lightly trafficked trail that was perfect for a fall day. Mostly sand trail that travels through a canyon that narrows the further you go in. Due to time restraints, I was not able to go all the way in and back, but enjoyed every minute of the part I hiked. Lots of old juniper, large rocks and brush.
If ever I am in the area again, I will definitely hike this trail again.

Wonderful trail! 7miles out and back. Pretty easy hike, mostly flat the entire time. Dogs loved it as well! You follow the river for majority of the hike with beautiful views of the river and mountains. People also mountain bike on this trail. You can also just drive to the falls by following the road to the every end. (Lost of cars parked there) The falls were amazing!! Breath taking!! You can get very close to them and potentially even underneath them, but we did not try. We did the hike the first week of October:) highly recommend!

Really gorgeous views of the river while heading to the falls, especially when combined with the colors of autumn.
It was an easy hike so poles aren't really needed.
I'd never seen a falls where it does a 90 degree turn - Loved it.

Trail in great shape, some nice fall colors. Not too difficult, dog loved it.

Beautiful waterfalls and an easy hike to see all of them. This one I ranked lower only because it gets pretty congested with many other hikers and dodging the bikes get challenging. Road to trailhead is gravel but no problems navigating around the occasional pothole. Parking is a problem if you don’t get there early.

Nice! Great little fall hike.

Few people on the trail. Secluded forest trail that opens up to breathtaking view of the Paulina caldera. A little steep at times that makes it a difficult trail to hike.

Has all the different types of terrain to see in the area; forest, swamp, desert with lava rock, ect. Absolutely beautiful!

Hiked this morning from the boat landing. A bit nippy and our first frost sighting of the year. Hike was great. Fantastic views and good morning of exercise. Best of all, no cars at the top.

a little steep but completely doable and only 1/4 of a mile.

If you are a photographer and you enjoy shooting water this is the hike for you!

Good day hike for my kid and dog. Lots of PCT hikers this time of year!

Would like to hike this whole trail. It’s a serine lake with a variety of vegetation. Peaceful and enjoyable.

A great day hike for the average day hiker. Although a little Smokey, it offered some nice Mountain View’s.

Dillon Falls is just a short walk to the north of the parking area and is powerfully amazing! Benham Falls trailhead is Southwest of the parking area and there is no sign, although we had no trouble finding the trail (on the left). We hiked in August and began at 8:30am. We only passed by a few bikers and one couple hiking. We had the trail to ourselves! The trail had a little more traffic by the time we ended our hike at 11:00am. We ran into a small section of the trail that met us with mosquitoes. A couple bites each! Easy hike with our 3yr old labradoodle. Beautiful scenery and the river kept changing, so never a dull moment. I’d recommend this gorgeous hike and I’d recommend doing it early while it’s cool and sparse of people. Oh, and one more helpful hint...there is a pit toilet near parking area and another pit toilet on the way to Benham Falls!

Nice hike! We only went to Benson lake but it was great. Beautiful lake and the North side wasn’t crowded at all. You can walk all the way on top of the bluffs on the North. It gives you a jaw dropping view of the peaks to the south. Also a Great Lake for swimming! Follow all our adventures on Instagram @themicrotourists!

Hot weather and scary, burned forest, but the trail was easy and North Matthieu was beautiful. No bugs!

Pretty good hike and fairly easy. Less that 1000 ft of elevation gain and the path is nice. Lots of burn area which is a little unsettling. Most trees look like they could tip at any time. Both lakes are cool and it’s fun to see the PCT hikers come through! Follow all our adventures on Instagram @themicrotourists.

Pretty walk under trees and along the river (try your luck with poles and rodes with artificial lures). *There is another parking lot closer to the falls.

Falls are more what I consider class 4 - 5 rapids. I was a bit disappointed. It was also hard to find a good place to take pictures.

Beautiful waterfalls!!

simply beautiful! it was interesting walking through the burned area from 2017 and the snippet of PCT was astounding.

Great hike but hit it early to avoid congestion.

Total mileage is about 5.7 miles actually (tracked with Gaia). Beautiful easy hike. The burned out parts of the forest are stunning. Total loop took just under 2 hours. Nice way to break up the drive to Bend from Eugene.

Came into Tenas from the west on Trail 3502 (upper left hand corner of the map). Its a very little used trail and is part of the Robinson Lake loop on the backside (North) of the Scott Mountain. It's not as well maintained as the trail from Scott Lake, but its another option for those looking for more obscure trails in the area. To reach the trailhead (Tenas) you drive about 6 miles on USFS roads from HWY 126 so make sure you have map.

This was a nice trail, we started at Tumalo Creek trail and arrived st the visitors parking area to a great view of falls from a distance. I was tired but wanted to get closer and possibly underneath but didn’t do it. Hopefully before we leave I’d like to get to the visitor area on top of falls!

This is a fantastic 3mile round trip hike. It is beautiful all along the trail and you are rewarded with several spots to view the fabulous deschutes rapids. If you are hiking, be mindful of mountain bikers on the trail, as this is a popular spot for biking as well.

The trail is easy walking and there is a pit stop right before heading towards the falls. Perfect for a break or a spot to eat lunch or a snack.

Enjoy this amazing hike and all the beauty Central Oregon has to offer.

Great hike. Steady incline. The lakes are nice to swim in. Get there early to find a good camp. We got there around 11am on a Saturday and was able to find a great spot on the right. Steady backpackers all day and sites started filling up. The lake is busy during the weekend.
