This is a nice paved walk in a local park. Nothing great to see here except for a nice view of a river the path crosses over. Great place for the family.

Many huge red rocks to see. However, I think the most worthwhile spot is the amphitheater.

Nice to walk by the creek and around lakes— you can add more loops to make the hike longer if you want. Pretty prairie area with flowers and birds

Beautiful hike with my dog, but had to go early in the AM to beat the summer heat (by noon it was 95 degrees). A few spots got narrow and with mtn bikers out and about there were a couple times we were forced off the path to make room for them. Nice mixture of rocky scrambles and smooth trail.

truly easy, but good scenery

The trails are well marked and beautiful scenery. This is one of my favorite trails to go on. However, I would suggest to get there early as the parking lot gets full & it’s a very popular hike.

Very nice loop near the Colorado School of Mines campus. Would highly recommend to students looking for a walk to do in between classes.

Good for a run in the middle of the city!

Great trail, parked in at entrance so the uphill portion was first and had an easy downhill second half. Was a beautiful day but beware they have concerts most nights so plan to hike early.

This was a nice easy trail. Great for all ages and skill levels. Beautiful scenery and close to downtown Denver! There isn’t much shade so wear sunscreen or bring a hat if you’re going during the day. I good place to bring out of town guests and take pictures.

Great short hike! I intended to do the 3 mile Red Rocks Trails but ended up doing this one instead. Mostly did it for the views of the rocks and would be fun for family/friends who are in town and want to see Colorado things. Got there close to 8 and the parking lots were completely full but we found a space. There weren't actually a lot of people on the trail since I think most were there for yoga!

This is a good trail for someone who doesn’t have a lot of time and can’t go far from Denver. Easy for all levels and the view isn’t bad either.

one of my favorites. great views. relaxing

Awesome trail close to Denver!!! Took us about 3 hours - a mix of shade and sun- huge parking lot. Tons of wild raspberries along the way but we almost stepped on a rattlesnake

Nice short hike with good views. Went on a Monday around noon. Some people on the trail, but not a lot. Lots of places to park for free. Took just under an hour round-trip for my wife and I. It was 90 degrees and sunny and there’s basically no shade the entire time so bring sunscreen and a hat/sunglasses. Elevation isn’t too bad, but it gets a little tougher in the heat.

Easy hike up Mount Muhly and recommend for everyone!

Just the facts... If you are concerned for your physical and emotional health - avoid Crown Hill Lake Park.
It is currecntly disgusting and as a visitor for over ten years I don't forsee it improving.

Yes, the sunset views are great but being in the park subjects you sometimes to violent and barking dogs that some pet owners can't or won't control. Only a few pet owners are responsonible for destroying this park by allowing their dogs to pee and poop anywhere.

The sidewalks are now riddled with poop from both dogs and geese and Jefferson County doesn't have the budget or management skills the keep the pathways clear or to penalize the few that ignore the law and park rules. When you consider that hundreds of dogs visit this park routinely, the disrepectful add up. It's not a people park anymore, it's a dog waste park - yesterday I witnessed a man dumping the dog poop he brought from outside the park. Not only do you get poop on your shoes and drop trace amounts into your car and home, you now smell it when walking past every trash can.

Some horse owners contribute too by leaving a mountain of horse pie on the cement walkways. Also, more and more people are smoking marijuana in the park even though there are posted signs prohibiting it. What a violent risk this poses and an overall dissappointment.

I love these trails! There's scenery, moderate shade, and, depending on which trails you take, can be a decent hike. Last week, we did the Apex Trail up to Grubstake, around, and then back down Apex. It was 7.5 miles and took us about 3 hours.

Beautiful trail! Well maintained. Not a very technical trail, but rocky and challenging enough to keep it from getting boring. It's a little busy, but it's not congested. I'd pass people, but it wasn't a constant, annoying thing. Also, lots of parking. Don't worry about parking.

Good easy city walk

This hike was beautiful and easy. I plan to take some visitors here in a few months! I agree with an earlier review about taking a picture of the map before starting, or taking a paper map with you on the trail to make sure you’re going in the right direction.

Great little hike. I Had to keep it short, so I took the Argo’s trail to the Pick n sledge and back down to Apex Trail. Really wish I could’ve done the full trail but what I did was beautiful.

Very easy but heavily trafficked trail. I recommend taking a picture of the map at the trailhead. This is not really one solid loop but a combination of multiple trails. It can be a short 1 mike hike or a long 10 mike hike depending on the combination of trails chosen. Lots of bikes and trails can get quit congested. This is a great trail for families with young children.

Just did this hike two weeks ago (6/16/18) and really enjoyed it. Quite sunny at first but once you get into the forest it was a pleasant temperature. The wildflowers are pretty right now. My tracking app said it was about 7.5 miles total once we finished and it took a little less than 3 hours for us. Lots of mountain bikers. Ample parking in the lot, and they have bathroom facilities and drinking fountains (as well as one for your dog and one to fill up water bottles) at the trailhead!

Fun short hike with the kids. Great views!

A really sweet decent after a pretty techincal uphill. For the initial hour of climbing I had to hop off of my bike 3 times. It was a pretty hard climb but the drop is awesome and steep. Some sweet switchbacks and rock lines make this trail a good option.

Love this hike! I come here often when I can't drive out too far, but need my nature fix. A beautiful place, with tons of scenery to photograph.

Loved this trail, one of my favorites! Great views, great legwork, excellent work out! Moderate traffic and plenty of shade on hot days.

Great for a hike with kids. Lots of different trails to make it longer or shorter. Very busy on a Sunday morning.

Nice way to get away from the city and have an enjoyably lazy walk on some pretty trails to get back to center.
However “lightly trafficked” is not the way to describe these trails... but I’ll definitely be back.
