Beautiful trail, there were only 3-5 others on the trail, this may have been because it is winter and water is too cold for swimming, but regardless the scenery is stunning here! We took a completely off track way to get to the waterfalls and we loved every step! We picked up some trash that others had left there which is unfortunate, but the trail still gets 5 stars because thats humanities problem, not natures! Tips: Don't be afraid to go off trail, we didn't see anything that was dangerous (so long as you stay within reason), take some new paths to find your way around and go bouldering! If you care for the environment, take a little bag with you and pick up some trash on the way back, help out mother nature! Also look for the white arrow spray painted on the rock to get down to the river/waterfalls, there is a rope to help you with the steep descent, but we didn't need this, its not really that bad!

Ranger station reports the southern half of this trail is closed. You can’t do the loop.

Nice trail and fairly easy hike

We started at pct crossing at 2n71, straight up to the top. Training run for Whitney for the kids. Trail training for me.

We took a wrong turn and turned it into an 8.2 miler...but still I think 6.8 is short. I think it’s more like 7.5.
Great hike. Very easy until the last mile which is a very steep uphill climb on a fire road. Beautiful view from the top.
For me, even though it’s longer, it seemed easier than the Gray’s Peak trail.

Nice easy trail and super shady. Once you pass the creek you start to lose the trail a bit in places unless you have the map out. Overall an amazing peaceful trail with little foot traffic

Beautiful day and great trail! Stopped at the stream crossing as we were told that it was much more spectacular than the meadow this time of year. Very shady and the trail varies the whole way between ascents and descents. All in all, a nice little conditioning hike.

Side note: we did come across a hunter along the way. Probably a good idea to wear bright orange during hunting season.

Nice hike most of the way until the end where it becomes a very steep fire road. When you get to the top it is a very pretty view but not much room as if it covered with radio towers. Not quite the peaceful peak we had imagined. But there are some small trees so we hung the hammock and made the best of it watching a beautiful sunset.

Did this after we hit Clark’s trail. This was a breeze compared to that. Heavily trafficked. Great beginners trail.

Nice trail. Started at Serrano camp ground. There is a tunnel under the road to the trail head. Nice view over valley after first couple miles. last turn to peak steep rocky access road. view from top worth the climb.

Beautiful

Some part of the trail is closed due to fire. But it is still nice. Trial is not easy for small dogs, lot of rocks. However, it is still nice. You can hear water fall while hiking which makes this trial wonderful.

Fun drive and great scenery with plenty of places to stop and take pictures. Trail was easy terrain and never needed 4wd, but was in a lifted Jeep. Trail does get very rocky from 3N02 to the end. The end of the trail leads to a highway and does not require you to double back for exit.

Super beautiful place, there is plenty of water running in the stream along the side of the canyon wall. Went with the dogs and they had a blast too.

nice trail but beware, if you're on the trail and miss the white arrow spray painted on a rock, you"re going to miss the falls. also it is a steep drop to where the falls are. you may have to do some but sliding but it is gorgeous. great falls in to a pool. follow all trails, once it shows you are there. time to go down the hill on your backside to a great area.
have fun!

Fun trail, make sure you have ground clearance for rocks towards the end

I'm a ranger volunteer for the SGWA. I have hiked this many of time and have to say its a easy trail with lots of views and running streams to the meadow where you can overnight camp. Go approx another two tenths of a mile where you will find a waterfall running all year long.

I live near by and use this trail as a training hike very often. Park in the large turn out just south of the entrance to Camp Seely. the trial is in the North east corner of the meadow. there are many trails that the bike riders use in the meadow and can be a little confusing to find the trail that goes up. A very efficient trail almost steep al the way . It is not a loop.

Good trail for practicing, learning, or easy simple offloading. Stock height Nissan Frontier in 4WD preformed perfectly. The trail has gotten a little washed out in 1 or 2 areas. Great experience and definitely recommend!

it was a nice hike for some friends that are big hikers, they enjoyed it a lot.

One of the best scenic view in all of Big Bear Lake.

Perfect for the first timer. Took my 2016 cherokee trailhawk, stock height, stock a/t tires. was a breeze. Did about half the trail as I was alone and not many people out here. Would recommend for a chill off road experience.

I took my kids and nephews on this hike, ages 5 to 11 and it was a lot of fun. It is a very steep descend once you get to the falls but my kids were tough and able to do it with no problem. The kids enjoyed playing in the water and jumping off the rocks all day so much that they didn't want to leave. The hike back up was probably the toughest for me since I had to help them climb up on many occasions, and helping 6 kids along the way can be tiring. Regardless, we all had a great time and my kids definitely want to come back, so we will. Anyone attempting this hike should be aware that there are many rocks and loose dirt on the descend so be extremely careful specially with kids. The only reason I gave it 4 stars is because a lot of people go to party there and leave a lot of trash behind and don't clean up after themselves. I packed up a full bag of trash and a backpack full of bottles and cans to help clean up the place a bit but everyone should be doing their part, since we all want to enjoy this place.

went up today July 28th, trail was closed. also read to her to trail was a bit rough would not recomend if in a regular 2 wheel drive car.

It was very hot and dry, so carry plenty of water. Trail is well maintained with great views. The last half mile or so was very steep. My GPS recorded 7.2 mile to the top of Bertha Peak.
