To all you hikers that keep complaining, take a minute to think who maintains the trail.. (DORBA).
(YES, IT COSTS BOTH MONEY TO BUY TOOLS AND LOTS OF VOLUNTEER HOURS TO KEEP THE TRAILS TIDY)
Then take another minute to figure out what does that mean. Hikers are more than welcome. but please no matter the park you go to. always stop at the trailhead and READ THE RULES!!!
most trails will ask hikers to go in the oposite direction so you can spot bikers from a distance and move aside.
thank you all for understanding.
have a great day!!

beautiful lake; grew up in the area and still ride 2-3 times a week. it can get busy, but still always enjoyable.

Heavily traveled trails. Lots of people blasting music.
Having said that, it’s nice hiking with elevation gains and losses throughout. It’s the hilliest part of the DFW metroplex.

Easy to get lost, poorly marked. That is part of the fun though! Have gps or a compass and it’s a blast exploring all the fun trails.
Mild elevation changes throughout. Incredible scenery!

Very fun experience and I look forward to learning more of these trails.

Nice trails, but heavy traffic.

This is my local training spot for running and cycling. I love it but you do have to watch out for others...sometimes the cyclists are the jerks thinking they're at le tour and sometimes runners are the jerks wearing earbuds and can't hear approaching cyclists. Sometimes there are just families with kids who dart across the path. Overall, it's great. I like tacking on the other trails so I don't have to ride the loop multiple times to get in extra miles. It is a gem in the middle of the city and I'm so glad I live nearby.

The wooded areas are really pretty. Creek levels are low and there was a lot of trash in it and on the trail...makes me sad and mad. Saw a couple of men sleeping under the bridge at Forest and another taking a "shower" at the water fountains near 75 and 635 in that open area. Decided that I should probably turn around there...met back up with WRC trail and biked it until the trail was closed...somewhere on Park Central. It's probably best to bike it with a buddy...definitely felt safer on a bike than I would have running alone.

love hiking here has options different Trails.

breathtaking, everyone we meat on our hike was amazely nice. The sites we saw were so beautiful and relaxingthat, that before we new it we had walked 11mails.

Lots of shade, trail markers, paved, trash bins, benches to rest if necessary.

Lots of pretty nature to see. High traffic on the morning of 4th of July. Some exposed areas out of the shade, so bring a hat and lots of water if going the summer. Trails are marked with various types of signs and some of them contradictory to others, so it's a little confusing. Also had a ton of cut throughs that make staying on the trails challenging, and again make it easy to get lost. If I'd taken my bike, I'd be annoyed with the amount of foot traffic. Still, it's beautiful.

Very nice scenery! Kids loved it!!!

That trail head is very easy to miss. Google takes you to the west side of the creek, the Rowlett Nature trail is on the east side. It has a picnic bench, and a tiny pond complete with a gravel parking lot at the entrance. You can not see the trail from the street. On the west side of the creek is another paved parking lot and a few tiny, but very overgrown trails; great spots for fishing though.

Overall, the nature preserve is nice, with many different path options to manage how far you want to go. Relatively well kept, but I did see a little trash along the trail.

My biggest issue is that the trail is poorly marked. Easy to get lost with lots of random offshoots to confuse just about everyone on the trail.

My second issue, which might be more of a preference, is that over half the trail is not shaded. If it’s summer in dallas, you will need to bring plenty of water for you and your dog.

Not bad for the ride. A lot of inclines and turns. Give it a try. I went on the 3 mile course twice, next time I’ll try the 8 mile

always a nice little escape. Use your GPs though it's easy to get lost.

Relaxing view while biking. Water fountain and public bathroom available.

A surprisingly lovely hidden gem. Parts were a bit littered when I went. Navigation can be tricky, just pay close attention and have a GPS app. Lots of shade.

A lovely lake to take a leisurely bike, walk, or run. Can be quite littered at times. Watch out for cyclists, they'll switch between road rules and pedestrian rules in an instant. Check out White Rock Paddle Co for kayaking!

Beautiful place relax paths.

Hard, steep (had to carry bike a few times) & poisonous snake habitat.

Good trail in Dallas. Not too difficult and heavily trafficked.

Great biking trail. Beautiful view of the lake. Trees everywhere. Lots of birds.

Hiked this one early may which was great so it wasn't too hot! I did the 3 mile loop, took about 1.5hr return. Mostly a biking path so keep your eye out for bikers coming around corners. Also watch for snakes on the trail!
