HikingGreat!

Start early as there are a lot of people at the bottom in big groups And they aren’t wearing masks. Go up and then proceed in a counterclockwise position. It’s more shaded as you go up and there are less people. But it’s a bit rocky. Trekking poles help but definitely not needed. On the way down easier obviously but there can be mountain bikers on the single track so be careful. Overall a great hike and would definitely do it again.

HikingGreat!

Just amazing There are NO SNEAKS There is no way you don't get wet, get mentally ready to walk 10 miles with wet shoes/socks. took us 3hrs to go up because we stop for a lot of pics, one hour to come down. Bring water snacks and hat/cap we got there 7am perfect time on Sunday. No mask drama. lot of families but not crowded at all... 10 stars.

HikingFeeGreat!

Shade for some of the trail. Make sure to use bug spray and sunscreen. (A lot of bees and gnats) Great hike if you go up the paved part, be ready to get your heart rate up.

paths are a bit confusing - download the map, beautiful scenery, turkeys, great view at the summit but definitely feels long so take breaks to refuel & rehydrate !!

Hiking

If you are looking for a pristine quiet wilderness experience this hike is NOT for you. I arrived at the parking area at 8AM Sunday morning and the parking lot was full, had to park one mile away from the start of the hike. Lots of trash and graffiti on a very crowded trail. Lots of people hiking with boom boxes playing loud rap music. The hike goes up a beautiful canyon and I strongly recommend that you DO NOT do it on a weekend. Bring either water shoes for the stream crossings or be prepared to hike in wet shoes

Great hike, definitely hard difficulty but worth it. 80% is shade, but in the summer, don't underestimate the challenge and being plenty of water and sunscreen. Definitely recommend!

HikingGreat!

We arrived around 7:30 and had to park about a mile down the road...I would arrive earlier than we did. I recommend hiking poles or finding a good stick if you don’t want to just walk in the water. We were able to cross the river multiple times without getting our feet very wet.

Hiking

I would suggest doing this hike early in the morning for multiple reasons. I got there at 6:15 and was able to get a parking spot, but 15 mins later I would’ve had to park down the road. The trail was obvious in areas and other areas there are multiple ways and crossings. Look for red arrows spray painted on rocks and trees if you feel lost. The water was still a little too cold, however I saw some people jump in. I SAW NO SNAKES, people kept asking me on my way out if I had seen any. Plan on getting your feet wet. My waterproof shoes, good balance and walking sticks kept my feet dry on the way there, but on the way back the water was refreshing.

Awesome trail! Tons of care in the parking lot, starting out at 745 I only met a few people on the way up, but quite a few more coming down. Almost everyone left their masks at home. I definitely gave up trying to find shallow crossings where I wouldn’t get wet. But once embraced the creek walking is actually a nice part of the hike, especially once it gets hot.

Great hike! Boulder scampering, river crossings, everything very green and blooming. Went on a Friday and only a handful of people on the trail. Embrace the river and just plow through--your shoes/socks/feet will get wet on this hike!

By far the most difficult and best loop I have completed. Will definitely do it again but I recommend coming in the morning to avoid the heat.

WalkingPrivate property

Love this trail. Lots of water and pools. We hiked about a mile past the bungee bridge and nary a soul to be seen. Great photo ops. The only sad thing there are lots of trash, old broken chairs, hammocks piles of discarded rubbish and we saw a couple of homeless living out there. Perfect for kids and seniors. I was told I needed an adventure pass to park at trail head but I saw several vehicles without one. Don’t risk it

HikingGreat!Private property

If it wasn't for the graffiti on the rocks, trees, signs, etc & if people would just pick up after themselves, this would be a 5-star hike. It's a shame people have no respect for property that does not belong to them. I'm sure most of the violators are not members of this site though so I'm preachng to deaf ears. Anyhow, we thoroughly enjoyed this hike because it checked a lot of the boxes such as following a water source the entire way, having a lot of well shaded trail, fording the river several times, upper body workout due to climbing rocks and boulders, and having a cool bridge in the middle of nowhere. There is plenty of wildlife as well; however, the Bighorn sheep stayed illusive and we only seen an multicolored neon lizard fight. Safety tip: This is a terrible story - Another group of hikers told us someone’s young dog was bitten on it’s nose by a rattler after sniffing under some brush. It’s a long trail and I don’t know how you could keep your dog from exploring and doing their natural instincts, even leashed. Just know, the rattlers are out in full force and it’ll be a long way back to the trailhead then to the veterinarian’s clinic. We went on an early morning weekday (Tuesday) and it was not too crowded. Parking was decent as well. Enjoy!

The trail is so beautiful with the water crossings. Such a shame that people feel the need to graffiti the beautiful rocks! This trail is best during the week!
