Really beautiful spot, great view
Wanted to do
The loop but couldn't find the red trail from the top
So next time we will start on the red trail

Did this hike a couple days ago, was great. Did it with two dogs they loved it. Only three other people logged in that day. Wasn’t too bad, took us about an hour 15 to get up and it’s a great trail to jog down.

Great hike! Lots of steep inclines. Well worth it, though, the view at the summit is amazing!

The last 5 miles along the lake are beautiful, but seem to take forever!

If you enjoy hustling up a rock scramble incline, this is the hike for you. The effort is worth the view at the summit! Fairly wide trail for most of the route. The first view is stunning, especially after staring at so much greenery for 3 miles. But don’t forget to continue in the the summit about 3-5 miles further on the yellow trail.

This is a short little hike that's well marked and has nice views at the end. We watched the sunset from up top and it was perfect!

A good moderate hike with a very beautiful summit.
There are many steep patches and getting down was especially difficult for me

Nice views of Lake George! A little steeper than some of the other climbs around. I took the trail over the mountain and down to Shelving rock rd. The backside is quite technical with a more narrow trail. Great way to connect to the Sleeping Beauty trails.

Began at the Hogtown parking lot and did the trail to the summit, then the pond and back. We take our time so it took all morning. First time that we had done a mountain summit and it was incredible! Plan on going again in the fall as the view must be wonderful then.

Breathtaking views of Lake George! This hike was difficult but doable. It gets pretty steep at some points. Will 100% do again!

first 2 miles are enjoyable with mostly hard packed dirt, roots, and occasional rocks. the last mile made me almost turn around...we had our boxer dog on leash and she needed to be lifted at times. toward the top it gets really hard to keep on trail. we missed trail to tower to find an even better lookout. on way down, we found tower. I would do this again, with more daylight to enjoy the amazing views. my app and watch said it was over 8 miles.

My husband and I did this hike after dinner in hopes of a good sunset view - we were not disappointed! The trail was well marked and we made it to the top in about twenty minutes, spent ten or so at the top gazing at the view, and fifteen to get down. The two hour estimate on the sign board is a little long for anyone in decent shape. The views from the top are absolutely gorgeous!

Was able to do the whole trail right around 2 hours up and down. Definitely a great trail for the short distance.

Great payoff at the top with a fire tower.

It was a very long hike that let to the valley top on the opposite side of the falls. I was hoping more to be up close to the falls.

First 2/3 of hike is quite easy going. Last 1/3 was a steep incline to the fire tower. Very manageable for us. We had our 11 year old son and Boston terrier with us. Would definitely do it again! Beautiful view!

Good easy hike with family and small dog!

Hiked this trail on 8-2-18. It is.not difficult for anyone in normal health I was with two 50 that were able to easily complete the trip.
The trail was well maintained. The views are very nice. There is some interesting moss hanging from the trees. More like something you’d see in Louisiana. The top was busy with people chatting and relaxing. The fire tower offered nice views to many lakes and ponds as well as the mountains. I had binoculars with me which mad viewing even better.
I would do this hike again.

The entrance to the trailhead is crazy. We came in a jeep so it was a lot of fun, but I don't know how some of the smaller cars made it, there are some pretty big pot holes and none of it is paved. This hike was a lot harder than I had expected. I had read the reviews, but still figured it wouldn't be too bad since it was such a short hike. The trail was is good condition, but the tower needed some work. Toward the top of the tower it was completely open no chicken wire, etc around the stairs. The tower was locked but you can still climb up for great views. The bottom of the tower is all rock so it's a nice spot to sit and eat lunch before your way down. It had just rained all week before we went so it was a little slippery but overall a fun hike!

amazing hike with serious ascents. the trail is well marked and almost entirely shaded. yes. it is rocky. sturdy shoes a must. hiking poles recommended. other hikers describe crowds. not our experience on a summer monday. we saw a few folks each way. at the top you will pop out on a park road. go left to find picnic tables, bathrooms, cold water, and a great view of lake George.

Nice trail with a variety of scenery and picturesque waterfalls. The trail was very faint in places the first couple miles, but the blue markers helped. Some good views in spots at the summit, but it would be so much better if the fire tower were accessible. A gradual accent with no really steep sections. I really liked this hike to get away from the crowds.

Our new favorite trail. It’s interesting and challenging with lots of uphills and downhills to catch your breath. The views along the way were beautiful culminating in a great view from the top.

Clearly marked trail off the Warren County Bikeway approx. 1/2 mile north of Rte. 149. The start is very steep and rocky, it had rained the night before so it was also slippery. Took an hour and 15 min up and 45 min back. Overall a nice moderate hike.

A very well-maintained trail with beautiful views from the fire tower. We thought it was perfect; challenging but not too steep. We arrived at 10:30am on a Saturday in early August. The parking lot was half full. When we finished, the lot was nearly full. Out and back took us 3 hours with a leisurely break at the top. We met a lot of friendly hikers. We stopped at the Adirondack Interpretive Center for a picnic lunch on the way home.

Loved it and can’t wait to go back

The views from the tower are really good. The trail towards the top gets steep but it's all worth it when you see the views. The trail breaks off on the left after the rangers cabin about 50 yards give or take. The trail was easy to miss due to no markers. It's marked now, with red DEC marker.

This is the 2nd time I have done this hike. The trail is VERY well marked and maintained. The path has a mixed terrain in areas with larger rocks to maneuver. There are two areas with a steeper incline and some people may need an assist depending on their skills/abilities/comfort level. The view from the Sumit is a beautiful sight of Blue Mountain lake.

Beautiful hike. Not a fan of climbing fire towers but I did it! Worth every step!

this was and awesome hike a bit longer then what I'm use to but pretty easy hike we stopped once on the way in. I will suggest anyone trying to get to the bottom of the falls to bring a rope that would have been very helpful.
