View is beautiful! Very steep trail though, but so much fun!

Awesome trail! Make sure to wear the proper shoes though!

Hiked on November 3rd. Absolutely beautiful trail. A couple tricky mini scrambles, that would've been less tricky if they we're as wet and slippery. Views are amazing, as expected. A bit of snow closer to the top.

A great hike that would’ve been a lot easier had it not been for the frequent mud jumping. The views from the tower were stunning and I even saw a guy hiking in sandals

Great intro trail! A little wet after a rain since it follows creek beds for a while.

This was definitely a moderate hike..I would not categorize this as “easy”. It was challenging and enjoyable and absolutely stunning views at the top. I’m in good physical shape (good endurance and cardio level) but new to hiking and it took me an hour to get to the summit. (Trekking poles recommended) And I don’t know what kind of mountain goats people have for children but I think this might be challenging for little ones (or maybe they’re more agile cause they’re smaller?!) Even though it wasn’t sunny, the view on a crisp fall day was breathtaking and I might have uttered an f-bomb or two in disbelief..highly recommend

Snowy, muddy and slippery today but still a great hike. Gradual climb with lots of bridges and stairs.

Awesome hike today on this trail! As a beginner it was a bit challenging but my buddy and I got through it. It was well worth it at the summit very nice views!

My wife was down at Saratoga Lake trying to row in the Head of the Fish, during a Nor-easter, so I decided to venture up Prospect Mtn. It was mostly rain at the bottom and mixed precipitation at the top with some slight glazing in areas making it a bit slippery. Love the tram history and the bull-gear and other artifacts at the summit. Decided to take the road around for my decent as there was not a soul in sight, no cars, no hikers, no birds, no noth'in...just me and the wind & rain. The road seemed to take forever but there were a few vistas on route so not bad. Bumped into an older gent collecting leaves at the trailhead down. Pretty cool hike!

Did goodnow today. Very nice hike. Fire tower was in good shape. Nice view :)

Great hike and great view but giving 4 stars because I don't think it was all that dog friendly towards the end. My dog and I hike a fair amount and run trails all summer too, so we are not inexperience.

It was much too cold to cross Lake Jimmy on the submerged planks so we took the nice little side trail around it. The first 40min or so were quite easy although a bit muddy. Snow appeared after that and then about 50min into the hike it got hard. Maybe the last half mile or so was scrambling up fairly steep rocks and my dog had a hard time figuring out where to go. We did make it up and I'd say it was worth it, but I'm not sure if I would do it again. short, with some what of a steep hike with an amazing view. would be nice for a picnic.

this trail was covered in blowdowns and poorly blazed in parts. at times it was difficult to find the trail and I've never has to second guess myself so much.

views were beautiful, and terrain was very similiar to high peaks without the elevation in parts.

Hiked sleeping beauty today. Trail was a little wet in spots as is typical. Views were beautiful. The trail is moderate by comparison with its neighbors Black and Buck especially if you can park at Dacey clearing. That shortens the hike by about 3 miles. Although the road fromHoggs Town parking to the trail head is very nice in winter when closed. Great views, beautiful scenery just challenging enough.

Not to difficult of a hike and the view is breath taking.

Fantastic view from overlook. Relatively rocky trail. Definitely moderate or harder.

Great view. Worth the trip. Fall is spectacular

We showed up early and trekked through muddy trails, rock-hopping and both passing hikers and pulling over to allow others to pass us by.

The rock scramble towards the end of the hike is sketchy. Both the false summit and the actual summit are beautiful views. The wind was whipping at the summit but the sun made our summit beer manageable.

On the way down we passed probably 100 hikers. I'm glad we went up somewhat early.

What a great first hike in the ADK’s! Some small steep spots, but nothing to be worried about. Absolutely loved the autumnal views in October!!

Muddy but worth it! Glad I was wearing boots. Drove to Dacy trailhead to avoid hiking the road...so now I have another reason to get my Jeep. Take it slow and you'll be fine, though.

This was my first actual summit. Ever. I was absolutely ready to turn around and go right back up when I saw the registration box. I really didnt want to leave...I'm officially hooked.

I made the mistake of hiking this one on indigenous peoples day when all the kids were out of school! The hike was really nice though :)

This is a straightforward up and back - straight up Prospect Mountain. Novices would call it Hard and Experts would call it Easy. Parts have a fairly steep incline. I did it with my 25lb one year old strapped to my back - took about 3 hours round trip. Views at the top are excellent for the Southern ADKs.

Awesome hike but would say more difficult than some of the high peaks, need to be in aerobic shape for sure

10/13/18 Trail was covered in the changing leafs but pretty easy to follow. The top of the tower was so beautiful. Saw a rainbow on the top! Must go for sure!

Awesome hike. We took our husky puppy and she loved it!

Always enjoy this hike any time of year except spring but only because the black flies will eat you alive.

This was the 4th fire tower challenge for my 5 year old an I (brought the wife along on this one).

Day was wet, so that along with the leafs covered rocks and ankle breaker roots made for slow going. Took us 2h up and 1.5h down.

There is one section near the top where you enter an evergreen grove that is covered with hanging moss. The day we did it the mountain top was fogged in. When we entered this section my boy stopped us and said "it looks like we are on another planet". He was right.

The fire tower is super tall, unfortunately for us, we did it on peak color change, but had no view.

We will probably do this one again on our way to completing the fire tower challenge, just so we get to see the view.

Other than the rather anticlimactic summit due to cloud cover, it was the perfect day to get out there! Foliage was beautiful, and the hike was a nice rewarding challenge with the wet and mud!

This was a great hike. Most of the trail is semi flat or a steady incline with the last 1/2 mile being very steep rocks. The view from the top was awesome! Took my 3 yo dog with us and she made it but the end would be a challenge for smaller dogs or dogs that dont hike often. There is a fire tower at the top with 360 degree views too!
