Very beautiful. Trail not marked very well and didn’t read info in this app. We did go left at the fork and came to top of falls. Very very steep. Would like to go back and explore more.

It’s a pretty easy hike. Beautiful, but lots of hidden roots and rocks from erosion popping up. It’s easy to twist an ankle or trip. Just look down as you go.

Great hike to take family and friends. Easy, short, and very photogenic falls at the end. You can actually walk into the base of the falls to sit and stand while they wash over you.

This is a beautiful area without a bunch of broken glass from morons (i.e. ozone falls trail). Would highly recommend!!! We went left and around then found a trail coming up the right side of the falls to come back out. Didn’t attempt the right side thanks to other reviews!

This is one I would consider doing again!

P.S. BRING BUG SPRAY. I have sweet blood + there was a lot of standing water at the beginning of the trail. I got bugs in my eyes, ears, and nose. Then again... we did begin this hike at 4:20pm. :-/

Nice hike. Amazing views of the water. plenty of places to go for a dip.

Good hike, beautiful destination. Not heavily trafficked for a Sunday. Main trail easy, definitely some moderate areas to get down (and up). Trail markings mostly visible. Would do it again.

The reviews were a little misleading to me. It is rated Easy, and I/we would not. There were a lot of rocks to climb/descend especially near the falls. In my opinion this was harder than easy and would be more in line with moderate. Benton falls was way easier.

Loved it! The falls were beautiful!

Amazing views. WARNING: When arriving to the junction GO LEFT. Going to the right will lead you to the upper falls overlook. The trail that takes you down to the bottom is across the creek. Going across the creek at the top of the falls was very dangerous. In addition, the trail was very steep, so steep that someone had tied rope in order to assist hikers coming down. After passing the lower falls sign (following the loop trail in a counterclockwise direction) my group had lost the trail and had to hike back to the road through the woods. That being said, take the loop in A CLOCKWISE DIRECTION; meaning, go left when coming to the “Junction”.

All of the reviews were very helpful. The entire trail is easy until you get to the falls. When you turn left at the falls sign, the last 100 yards is descending down stairs and a slippery root filled trail. This was an excellent first hike in Tennessee.

awesome hike some downed trees due to storm and higher river water but it is ok to cross in order to continue to the trail up to the waterfall where we were able to jump off a few times and swim under the sun. just beautiful . easy even with dogs and an 8 year old.

Great hike! Tough hike out with a 4 and 1 year old in tow but definitely worth it!

My girls (ages 3 and 6) and I just got home from this hike! Definitely a must... if you want to go behind the waterfall, follow the main trail. when you hit an open area, with a trail to the left or right, GO LEFT. You will eventually climb down to a sign the days "Lower piney falls." TAKE THE TRAIL BEHIND THE SIGN!

Very happy with this outing. The girls loved swimming. Water was cold and so refreshing. lots of bluegill and trout. We will be going again.

Excellent raw trail. Lots of interest. My wife and I took took this on in late afternoon. Lots of rain over the days before had Rock Creek flowing fast and high, turning the rock hopping jaunts into thigh-deep wading. Nevermind that. The reward at the in end was well worth it. The reward at the out end a downhill grade. Note: Lots of slick mud on the trail.
Also this is not a hard hike, but it did not seem particularly kid-friendly to us.

Stinging fork falls is 3 miles round trip, with a a 30-foot (9.1 m) high waterfall. the more tranquil and picturesque swimming holes

many sections are narrow, rocky, and have steep drop-offs into the gorge.

Great little hike with a beautiful waterfall as payoff. There are a few really muddy spots on the trail so make sure you have the correct shoes.

This is a beautiful hike to a waterfall.

Very nice falls. The hike is short but there are plenty of other trails to hit while you’re there. We did a nice 7.2 mile loop. Go early to avoid the crowd.

This was a great little trail. Flat and easy till the split then becomes moderately tough. Turn right to go to base of the falls. The trail to the left is starting to get overgrown a little bit but has a pretty view from the top. Part of one of stairways was blocked from a fallen tree on the way down.

Easy hike. Great swimming holes!

Hiked this with kids and my dad. I’m going to try to describe this the best I can. The first part of the trail is wide and well maintained. When you reach the first fork, going right leads to the upper falls overlook. Going to the left leads to the lower falls and the trail behind the upper falls. The trail becomes much more narrow and steep when going to the left. At a few places, some minor climbing is necessary. Eventually, you reach a sign that points to the left down a very steep, muddy descent to the lower falls. On the way to this sign, we passed a family coming back up. The woman had broken her wrist and sprained her ankle trying to explore the lower falls area. However, none of them were appropriately dressed or shoed for the hike. When we reached the sign, we decided to bypass this with the young kids because of the muddies and steepness. Heading to the right and behind the sign leads to the area of the trail that hugs gorgeous bluff walls and eventually makes its way down to behind the upper falls. We spent some time admiring the falls and proceeded to follow the “loop” trail. This is where the trail become extremely poorly maintained and difficult to follow. We tried very hard to find and follow the trail but it was impossible!! We ended up hiking back out the way we came. Once back at the first fork, the older child and I took the original “right” to the upper falls overlook. Overall, we enjoyed the hike, but parts were challenging. I was frustrated that we couldn’t do the loop. We did not see any wildlife although I was hoping for some snake sightings since we had been warned by so many people that the snake population was out of control.

This is a hidden gem - magnificent waterfall and a pristine crystal clear mountain top lake with a sand bottom beach

Nice hike, but trail not marked clearly on the left fork. Almost stepped on copperhead snake at the fork in the trail...great photo op. Bring a walking stick.

Good trail until you get almost down to the falls. If you take the trail to the left at what appears to be where someone has had a camp fire, be prepared to have to descend a small rocky area. One mile back, this is where we stopped. Experienced hikers should have no problem.

Beautiful waterfall. $3 fee per car for parking. It’s 1.5 mi out to the waterfall, and then 1.5 mi back. There are multiple other trails if you want to continue exploring. Most of the trail is sand, but there are some muddy parts and a large stone staircase at the end, so tread carefully. Great day hike! Also, make sure to stop off at the scenic overlooks up and down Oswald Rd on your way in/out of the park.

Beautiful falls well worth the easy hike in. Little work hiking back out (steps up from Falls) but was easy enough for someone with little physical ability to do. Can’t mtn bike the steps down into the Falls area but can bike 99% of the rest of the trail. I too packed out some trash. Too much litter. Highly recommended because of the Falls.

Two separate falls here and the upper falls has trails to the top and the bottom. Amazing niche I would visit again and again. Pay attention to the signs and navigation to find the bottom of the upper falls

Nice falls and easy trail. I was there early so the traffic was all but none. Days of rain made the falls something to see but the trail also had a lot of water because of it.
