Easy in, easy out. Definitely one of the easier hikes near Chattanooga for the reward at the end. You’ll cross the stream twice before you make it to the falls, so be prepared to walk they water in worst case scenario. Round trip can be done in less than two hours for average hiker.

A fun little hike and beautiful waterfall. Be careful walking down the steps lol because I wasn’t. Can be crowded at times.

Hiked this with my kids today ages 3-12, we all loved it. It was just hard enough to be an adventure but not strenuous. We couldn’t figure out how to get to the bottom of the falls but the Upper and Lower views are BEAUTIFUL!

Short but good to be around. Some steep parts and some trees across the path. Gorgeous stream makes the trek going steeply up in places. First tree is barely 40’ from the beginning and looks dangerous but was easy to navigate. Water was really moving and the multiple steps in the stream add a really nice cacophony to the climb. Numerous rhodendren bushes will look super if they bloom. They loom over the trail almost the whole track. Had to park about 80’ west of the trailhead but there is little traffic on TN30. Really nice rock formations and many small falls. There are some super opportunities for little videos here

There are several ways to get to the falls. One could choose a more challenging route and hike up the mountain. There are not many inspiring views, but the hike is pleasant. If you choose to drive up Chilhowee Mountain you will find breath-taking views of the Ocoee and the surrounding mountains. There are terrific logging roads along the way to hike and hunt small game. The trail to the falls is short and very easy. The falls are wonderful. There are stairs down or one could choose to climb either side of the falls up or down. The creek at the bottom is a nice place to chill, dip your feet, and have a snack. Very kid and animal friendly.

Gorgeous but difficult trail. If you want to avoid the steepest part of the trail when you come to the fork go left to head to lower piney first. Just keep going left
Until you get to upper piney. I fell hard two times crossing over the top of upper. Be careful! I see it is listed as an out and back. It is a lollipop loop actually.

Beautiful trail. None of the signs say Rainbow Falls, though. Just stay to the right when the trail forks to go to the falls. There is a larger waterfall past the first one but it's rocky and difficult to get to. Worth it!

I loved this trail the falls is so unique and pretty. I would advise taking water shoes though. when u are almost to the falls u have to cross the creek 3 times... it was winter, we had no water shoes, but went for it anyway. no turning back we were almost there!!

Ended up on this trail after a few massive rains in February after discovering that the Laurel-Snow Trail was too washed out to use--I'm glad I came! Normally I would have passed up such a short trail, but since my planned hike was out I gave it a go.

The flow rate was INSANE after all the rain we had had, so I couldn't safely cross the upper falls to do the loop. I doubled back and hiked down to the lower falls and was so glad I did-- walking behind a RAGING waterfall is always an epic experience.

I would definitely recommend this quick hike if you're chasing waterfalls--it didn't disappoint.

Nice trail but very rocky in many parts and a bit hazardous for older folks to navigate. A nice additional trail if you are hiking other short trails (like Piney Falls) in the area.

One of the best all-around hiking trails in the area with 2 beautiful waterfalls inside a 2 mile loop. Not an easy hike but not majorly difficult either. No doubt the trail could be better marked. Finding the rope ladder when leaving the Upper Falls to climb the ridge can be a challenge to locate, if you’re not paying attention you will walk past it. Love this trail, hiked it many times.

Easy trail hike, worth the trip to see the beautiful falls!

Nice and secluded. 1st part of the trail is very nice. Last part down to the falls is steep and rocky. Really not a trail at all. Be prepared for that.

First part of Trail is nice, the last half of trail is very rocky, very slick, narrow, and tough! I do not recommend this for newbies, young children, or anyone with knee issues. The last half is not very well marked, needs a few more trail markers.

Easy hike till very end at Falls, cross creek two times. But if you put in the effort and climb above this fall, there is a bigger one above it that is beautiful.

Short hike. Water flowing nicely. Definitely NOT Hard as AllTrails rated. A little steep in some places but not difficult at all. Several nice cascades. Parking is available for only one car at the trailhead.

Our first hike of 2018 and it didn’t disappoint. It was raining and 50 so we didn’t see many people. The trails where well marked, the trail width was good and the falls were beautiful. The area would be great for camping and hiking all the trails.

Easy trail to above the falls. Many nicely laid out rock steps down to the bottom. There are hand rails most of the way down. Be careful there are wet spots.

Beautiful waterfall and the best part is being able to walk behind it. A lot of people said they had trouble finding the trail to the base of the waterfall. Here is how you get there: continue on the large main trail until you get to a place where you can see a trail to your right and a more hidden trail to your left on the opposite side. The trail to the right takes you to the top of the falls. If you go on the trail to the left, you will eventually see a place where you must climb down some rocks, they have put a sign there. Make a right at the base of the rocks and continue next to the cliff on your right till you reach the falls. The trail to the lower falls is quite difficult, but very short. I was surprised that the lower falls were pretty much the same size as the upper falls, but you cannot go to the bottom. I highly recommend these trails!

Great trail. The fall was beautiful. Very busy trail with many people and dogs. However I wish it was a little better marked.

great hike. .not to long
going back up is another story lol

Great hike for the whole family. Very easy until the last part before falls where it can be steep in places. We hike this trail often with kids and the falls never disappoints.

Quick trail with one of the most beautiful waterfalls at the end. Very easy until the waterfall. Can choose to just view from top or take the steep steps down. Well worth the hour round trip for non experienced hikers.

Love it! Such a beautiful waterfall, not a bad hike! One of my favs

Great hike with kids!
