Was an amazing hike. Waterfalls, clear lake, and blue pool all in a day! What more can you ask for. All in all not very hard, but pretty long. Would recommend.

Even though this one is rated easy, there were some spots that were tough for me. I will definitely try this one again being more physically fit, but it was worth every bit! Beautiful scenery and lake was breathtaking at the end!

Enjoyed hiking this trail with family. Pretty easy hike. There is part of the hike where the hill is steep for a little bit, but not terrible! Gorgeous nature views, and the lake is breathtaking!

The way up was so beautiful this summer. Amazing wild flowers. The trail got a bit rocky up top, so I think I’ll have to get some ankle support boots for next time!

Always a good hike while in Montana!!!!

just me and my wife hiked the trail till dark and pulled off the trail and camped for the night awesome time

I would rate this hike as more difficult than moderate, which is due the path being very narrow in a lot of places and a heavy amount of rocks on the trail. However, the scenery more than made up for the difficulty level!

I wasn't able to get to Phantom Lake (1000yds short) due to deep snow.

Beautiful hike! We were going to camp at island lakes but there was a snow crossing that didn't look safe so we turned around and camped at mystic. Spent two nights and explored the area and fished. Really enjoyed our time and look forward to going back. Had a few good afternoon mountain thunderstorms.

I've done this horseback and on foot, one of my favorite places. I love it up there. can be a very busy trail but I think its worth it. It's a nice hike, I see kids doing it regulary.

Beyond gorgeous hike!! The views were amazing. There was a fair amount of snow today for the last 3/4 of a mile to the lake. With the seasons changing, hiking boots and warm socks are recommended. Sneakers might not cut it!

Such a great hike. Incredibly beautiful and a wonderful was to spend 2-3 hours. Great spots for photos. It's uphill to the lake but it's pretty gradual and not difficult. Trail is well maintained. The road going in used to be rough but it was graded and is now a breeze.

Hike here or die knowing you missed out. The most beautiful trail from beginning to end, with very little difficulty.

Beautiful. Felt so good to soak our feet in the gorgeous lake.

Gorgeous scenery! Very rocky trail, so makes it difficult to look around or hike fast, but otherwise spectacular!

One of the most beautiful hikes you will ever go on. Just loved it.
Gravel road to get there. Trail well marked easy to follow. Anyone in decent shape can do. Being bear bells and or spray.
We went to the far end of the lake, 8 mile round trip. Elevation not difficult, flatlanders can do.
It was stunning and remote and perfect. We saw no other people the whole time.

Was a tough hike. Beautiful trail. constant climb. There is a shortcut almost at the end. We took it. Saves you about 1.5 miles. on the way back we went the long way. it was an amazing view on top. caught 15 golden trout. stayed 2 nights. We had a wonderful time.

Spent two nights near the top of the lake back in late May. Runoff was killer and we had to go off trail several times because the trail was underneath the water. several fallen trees over the trail. great views, would be better later in the season with trail maintenance and runoff down

Great views all along this hike. Spectacular mountain meadows, lakes and hillsides

Fish were too easy to catch at Phantom lake. We lost the trail just below the lake but made our way to the lake and across to the other end where there was a nice place to set up camp near the water. Only ones up there 4th of July weekend.

I give this trail only four stars because of how crowded blue pool was. Even though it was beautiful there it made it seem as if you hadn't hiked all that way. Along the way though I saw no one not a soul !! It was beautiful and green and quite lush. The falls weren't as crowded as I had thought especially since it was a Saturday but I was there pretty early. I decided to make a camping trip out of it and it all worked out well. Oh and if you do go guard your stuff especially at blue pool I had my temper pad and my rain tarp stolen. Quite upset about that.

Have done this hike several times and love it! We've taken all ages of kids along too, even as young as 4 or 5 yrs old. It's challenging on the way up for kids but totally worth it! I think it took us 2 hours with many water breaks. We eat lunch at the lake and spend time wading in the water.

Trail starts at the hydroelectric power station. As you hike up you'll see the water pipeline across the valley. The "lake" is actually a man-made reservoir, but as you come around the final corner, your jaw will drop. It looks like something from Lord of the Rings. Beautiful views and then hike down another half a mile or so to the beach. Incredible hike. We do it yearly.

Very beautiful hike!

I can't believe I've lived 70 miles from this trailhead for the last 20 plus years, and have never done this hike. This hike, and lake is amazing. Took us about an hour, and a half to get to lake, while stopping for photo ops, and to give our dogs drink breaks. So worth the drive, and hike. Can't wait to go back again, so we can walk further around the lake.

Love this hike. If you have time make sure you walk to island park lake just past mystic lake. Scenery is definitely worth the elevation gain

This hike has some really nice features along the way, with a challenging last 1.5 mile section that is rugged. Switchbacks go through a really cool boulder field that eventually takes you to the top where you get a view of Mystic Lake and Granite Peak in the background. It was approximately 2.7 miles to the lake shore from the trailhead. This trail is not for someone who does not get much exercise. This has a 1500' gain in elevation and puts you at about 7535' at the highest point.

This trail gave me and my girlfriend some amazing views it was awesome! Do recommend
