Fun trail! It has some really cool features: small caves, an arch and a waterfall. I’m going back in a couple of weeks to explore some of the off-shoot trails and see the fall colors.

Good trail... lots of litter though :-/

Great trail that everyone in Kentucky should go to

Such a gorgeous trail! You can skip the loop and go straight to the falls without doing the whole loop. Took 4 kids and the water under the Falls was perfect for swimming. Deep and refreshing on a 86 degree October day! The area around the falls was fun to relax and explore. We scaled the giant rocks and explored by the river. Tricky getting back up but worth it. A fairly easy trail but lots of steps. Uneven footing and steep drop offs so maybe not great with little children. Gorgeous view of Cumberland falls.

Beautiful trail. The trailhead is not marked very well and is across the road from the parking lot next to a residence. Very boring for the first mile or so. Lots of spider webs so use a stick to knock them down. Abt a mile in it gets much prettier and lush. Gorgeous rock formations. Slick in spots. Good for kids just keep an eye on them. The falls were beautiful with a lil sandy beachy area. Talk falls that land in a rock pile so you can’t get under them really. Not really enough water underneath to wade in but I guess sometimes it would be a good I swimming hole to splash in with a sandy bottom. Headed out is mostly uphill. We did not see a single person on our hike on a beautiful Sunday in October so I’d say this trail is not frequented much.

Beautiful hike. There is some high Cliffs and it is a pretty steep drop when you get to the top of the falls. There are a lot of kids on the trails and I brought mine but there were a few instances it made me a little nervous with them.

Loved this place, just went today definitely a good hike and picture taking place. Seen one snake other then that no problems other then saying wow a hundred times lol....

Beautiful views but the trail is rough!

We did the full 6+ mile loop. The trail is great and we'll maintained. Be prepared to wade through at least one creek. There was only one spot that was a little confusing but if you look closely you can tell which path is more well traveled.
As a side note after hiking some other local trails I'd rate this as more of a Moderate difficulty as there is some good climbs towards the end if you're going clockwise around the trail.

Beautiful!

My girls and I loved it. Definitely a must see..

Hiked with a friend a few weeks ago with the intention of camping on the trail. It's a beautiful hike. Pretty good workout with an overnight pack on your back. Definitely not for beginners. Crossed paths with a bear about 5 miles in. It ran away from us and we kept on hiking. Stopped to eat a few miles later and coincidentally came across bear prints in the exact location. At that point I decided to head back to my vehicle. Again, the bear was not aggressive or even curious. I'm just a very nervous person when it comes to bears. We actually heard it run away from us again when we passed back through.

There are two trail heads, we started at the furthest point out on the gravel road 198. This is about 4 miles one way. There was recent heavy rain so conditions were wet. The trail is not currently well maintained, as there were several fallen trees and the last section before the second trail head is grown over. However, it was all passable and an interesting hike. The falls was awesome with the rain. I would consider moderate due in part to distance and condition.

Hiked the section from Cumberland Falls to Holly Bay Campground over two days, about 17 miles. Trail was more technical than previous reviews had indicated. Great views and good camping spots, but lots of scrambling, overgrown and poorly maintained areas, a creek crossing, multiple downed trees, rock laden paths, and a large section of narrow trail along a ridge line tilted at a 45 degree angle. Difficult to traverse with a 25-30 lb pack on your back.

Went for a solo trip started from Ky 192, and wanted to finish at Cumberland Falls. Trail was well marked, however starting from this location not much to see. Hiked 10.5 miles the first day found a nice place to camp. Next morning they were calling for severe thunderstorms so I decided to pack up and hike back. Will definitely finish this trip, but will start from Cumberland Falls.

Hiked this trail on 9/13/18, it was a good trail, not difficult, well marked and had some cool rock formations. We had the place to ourselves, we didn't see a single other person the whole day.

Great day out with just the wife. :) moderate hike. Hot day. Great overlook. A bit crowded at final fall today though. No complaints.

Fantastic hike. The roar of the large Cumberland waterfall in the front end of the hike is awesome. The second half - lots of stairs - is also very interesting. Lots of large rocks, boulders and outcroppings. Swimming hole and falls as the grand finale!

Nice trail, the fall was really cool.. you don’t have to take the staircase down, if you keep walking the trail loops around and you can get down on the other side... good information, if you have a dog.

make sure you take the second trail head down the road. the first will result in a 10 mile hike. we accidentally made the mistake when we went for the first time and didn't bring enough supplies.

Absolutely beautiful trail. Incredible rock formations, beautiful wild flowers, gorgeous falls. It's well marked and maintained. It took us just under four hours, and that's including an hour and a half at the falls. The shade is great too! Take a stick because we went through at least 30 spider webs!

fun hike! last time I was there we saw a massive black bear on the road

beautiful short stroll to a lovely view up and down the river. Be aware, it can get incredibly muddy very quickly.

The falls are well worth the walk. It is to be noted however that the trailhead from Cumberland Falls is marked incorrectly because this is a 10.25 mile in/out instead of a 7 mile in/out.

VERY easy hike. I ran into a snake and a few deer but it’s nature, soooo, thats completely fine. I would definitely recommend going to the top of the hill and overlooking the lake.
