Guys, DO NOT CONFUSE THIS WITH SEVEN FALLS! For one, this is free. Also, I had much more fun here.
Keep going up the mountain/road after Helen Hunt falls and you will see a huge parking lot. Go west through the gated dirt road and then after 0.7 mi (according to GPS/Fitbit) you will see the 622 post. My husband and I had fun taking pictures at every bridge we hit. I really enjoyed this hike. From the parking lot to the end of bridge 7 and back, my Fitbit clocked 3.47 mi.
There seems to be paths everywhere, but remember the whole path is along the creek. If you think you’re getting too far away from the creek, you probably are.

This is definitely a great trail. but if you are hiking all the way to the falls it is not moderate. and yes it is longer than stated. beautiful vistas.

Me encantó la experiencia, excelente si lo
recomiendo.

Excellent day hike! Did this with my father who is in his 60’s and my son who is 13. Make sure to check the weather before going and pack a jacket, it can be cooler in certain areas even in July when we went. Great views!

They aren’t kidding-this is an extreme hike. But it was awesome!!

Walked this on the way down from the Incline. A bit steep in spots with beautiful scenery.

Beautiful waterfalls.

Beautiful hike, mostly uphill going in with a few flat breaks. Reservoirs are lovely. Kids ages 4-7 and grandparents age 60 had a great time.

Great trail. Scenic, very challenging

I like to do the Peak at least once a year. It’s a nice challenge and worth it. The ascent took me 6 hours but I have done it in 4 1/2. Not my best time, obviously. I believe the average time for ascent is 8 hours. I did the ascent and descent for a total time of 11 hours. The last couple of miles are the hardest and my brain always says, “why am I doing this”! But, you just push through it and are happy to get to the top.

Make sure to dress in layers. The weather can change quickly. I like to take a camelback and I don’t bring much food. I’m just not real hungry.

The change in the terrain is always interesting It’s beautiful country. Thankful to have it as my backyard.

Total miles my app recorded was 23.85 miles.

Love the coolness of the trails through the forest. The bridges are pretty well maintained. The views are amazing.

Great Hike, good variations of climbs, rocks, scenery. A hidden gem .

I completed this hike during the week in mid August 2018. The trail had a few people on it. I had heard that it was often crowded on the weekends. I hiked well past the seventh bridge staying within site of the creek. After I hiked across several steep sandy parts void of trees, I was in the trees again. I could see what I thought was the summit. The weather rolled in, it started to rain so I turned around and headed out. I will return to this trail again.

Tough hike!! Had to take a lot of breaks!! The accomplishment of getting to the top feels great but I don’t need to do it again!!

Great hike with tremendous views at the top. Difficult for the first half mile and the last half mile but pretty easy in between.

Great hike. Very beautiful. it was a little hard to find the right path to the trailhead, but once we found it it was great from there. Most of it is shaded. Lots of little streams and waterfalls. Just be sure to bring lots of water!

Simple and straightforward hike. I would say it is very family friendly. Well shaded and cool with a creek flowing through. The area is extremely busy on the weekends.

Extremely difficult but definitely worth it!

Beautiful hike ... LONG hike, but beautiful. Totally worth it!

Beautiful hike and great way to start the day. It was a little more difficult about 1/2 way to the top but worth it. We loved walking along the creek - very peaceful!

Felt like such an accomplishment getting to the top. I’m probably average as far as endurance fitness goes and this was a grind, especially half way up when it gets steeper. Had to take a breather every 50 steps near the end there, but I’m glad I didn’t bail out early and kept going to the summit. Took the Barr trail back down and it’s pretty mellow with tons of switchbacks. Some sections are very narrow and people like to run down, so keep an ear open for people running up behind you.

I got to the start around 6:15am and ended up paying the $10 parking because I didn’t know any better, but it was nice having my car close. I’m told there is other parking in manitou and a shuttle that runs to the trailhead every 20 mins. Might try that next time to save money. The parking lot was packed by 8am when I got back down, make sure you go early to beat the heat and crowds.

My only complaint is that some of the steps are washed out between, just gotta be careful on some spots. Very tough hike for me, but worth it!

So many trails to pick from that all run into the main falls! My eldest son Lars in 2014 at 4 and 5 liked the activity/ information center and Trail maps freely given. Putting our shoes in The waterfalls were his favorite almost as much as lunch on top by the spring! Mt.Cuttler, Burton 3 mile trails, great for families!

A good short hike, very dog friendly! Went on a Friday afternoon and it was moderately trafficked with kids, dogs, and humans!

The one downfall with this hike is that there is NO way the signs are correct. This hike is way longer than 6-plus miles. You can even see where people wrote the longer distances in pencil on the signs. Besides that, great hike.

Great trail. Well marked. Pretty steep near the top. Dead ends at the falls. Actual falls are average. Give yourself half a day.

My family (including my 2 year old) went on this hike on a Friday morning. We got to the parking lot around 8 and it wasn’t too busy. The walk along the road is about .5 mile, then you turn right at trail 622. It’s not well marked. After the road it is beautiful, shaded, and a little rocky. My son loved going over all the bridges. Great family hike! On our way back (around 10:30) it was pretty busy and the parking lot was full.

Definitely worth the hike. Just be proactive about drinking water. I carried some high-energy snacks and drank about every 1/2 mile. The end of the hike was kind of chaotic because the trail isn't super visible, but the feeling of accomplishment was 10000% worth it.
