I hike National Creek Falls several times a year, it's absolutely gorgeous. A few times early in the season you can't make it to the falls because of a lot of fallen trees along the road. The trail starts above the falls and you hike down to the base of the falls. When you arrive at the base of the falls step down around the point at the bottom and you can see the rest of the falls which are obscured by a Ledge. You can cross the creek at the base of the falls and play in the water. Four years ago a lady fell and broke her leg so be careful. It is a easy hike.

Too many folks.

Totally worth the trek up! Stunning views, plus a jump in the lake at the end!

Crazy rock formations abound. Easy hike.

Beautiful easy and short

Found the trail hard to locate- but nice enough.

Sun notch is a beautiful, easy, rewarding loop that offers a break from the crowds at the rim. I recommend this spot as a refuge for someone who is prone to vertigo and experiencing fear of heights, which can be intense elsewhere in crater. just gorgeous views of the lake and phantom ship.

Beautiful and short hike

Quick hike through the trees offering some nice views into the valley below. Lots of ground squirrels!

Short and easy hike to great views of the phantom ship. This hike has ranger led hikes in the afternoon and is wheelchair accessible. Pretty smooth gravel path with lots of “pull over” spots and a few benches. I agree that is should be rated easy instead of moderate.

1.5 hrs (1 hr up and 30 mins down) with 11 and 15 yr olds. Great views of the lake. Crowded but 4 stars due to smoke from wild fires. We got the views and we could see all the way across but not the deep blue color! Keep an eye on the crater webcam if you are not staying at the lodge. Dry and steep going up and starts at 7k ft so take water. And have lunch at the lodge after, while you wait for your table have a drink in a rocking chair on the patio overlooking the lake.

Love this hike, gives great views of the basin, crater lake, wizard island & phantom ship. It is short but it is all uphill. I went to watch the sunset on Garfield & I passed only two people who were headed down while I was going up

Super easy hike, and beautiful there, but not sure if it’s worth the drive

awesome hike, best to do in the early am. we started at 630, no one was on the trail. far busier after 8.

Did this trail early this morning (8/3) with spectacular weather and minimal crowds until the descent. I had the peak to myself for upwards of 45 minutes. I must stress the extreme crowds toward early afternoon-mid day. The hike is entirely uphill until you reach the peak, but nothing a moderately in shape person couldn’t do. Go early and enjoy!

Hiked this trail July 24, 2018. Easy walk to the falls. Lots of wildflowers and butterflies.

The trail is wide and traversed it with ease. Great views at the top and a great way to spend a few hours. Bring binoculars to see all the activity from the edge.

Great views of the pinnacles! Not to be missed!

Short and easy hike to the Plaikni Falls. Tons of mosquitos on the trail, beware!

Nice short hike with great views of the Lake as well as Wizard Island. Some snow left but the top of the hike is accessible. High traffic.

Very fun experience! Loved jumping off the dock afterwards.

Easy trail. Not necessary to go far for the best views. We went to the park boundary and saw the old stone structure that used to display the parks name. I assume this was once an access point to the park.

This is a lovely trail. We camped in site F11 and had the trail at our backdoor. We hiked the loop after dinner on our first night. Lots of pretty flowers to see here.

This was the most uninteresting walk. No good views from this trail.

This was a pretty hike. You can get the best view of Phantom Ship from here.

The hike to the falls is not scenic. Trail surface is unobstructed. The variety of flowers at the falls was nice.

Excellent hike with fantastic views. My favorite so far.

Great hike, the highlight of a visit to Crater Lake in my opinion. Be prepared to go both down and up the Cleetwood Cove trail and yes, you'll need to reserve a spot on the Wizard Island shuttle to do this. There is a great spot just beyond the dock at Cleetwood Cove to jump into the cold lake water if you are so inclined. Once on Wizard Island, the hike took us 45 minutes up and 35 minutes down, so we enjoyed a lunch on top and took in the incredible views and amazingly blue water. Once down, we also did part of the Fumarole Bay trail, but we were running out of time and that trail is difficult to traverse due to the lava rock and it doesn't really take you to a good swimming location. Instead, we got in at the dock and swam very briefly. We also saw a fellow passenger catch an 18-inch rainbow trout, so bring along your fishing pole and artificial lure and see what you can catch. All told, between all three trails, we hiked about 6 miles with about 1,500 feet of vertical, so it's a full day adventure.

Surprising trail with a nice reward at the end. Trail is mostly flat with a slight incline at the falls. We hiked between 2-3PM when the sun is on the falls and makes better pictures. The wildflowers were awesome along with hundreds of butterflies. Don't miss this one at Crater Lake NP.

Short, flat stroll while viewing the pinnacles.
