great, easy access from downtown. the main trail is designed to by about 75% wheelchair accessible.

For us this was just okay. There are a few camps close to the trailhead, each with 20 piles of toilet paper and beer cans in the fire rings. The extreme numbers of yellow jackets were also a problem, you couldn't stop for more than a minute without being swarmed. Would be a fun snow shoe I bet.

The hike to the summit and back is actually 3.5 miles. If you continue on the primitive trail you will reach about 4.75 miles. Great hike!

Very fun. New sights around every corner. Great semi-private beaches to take a dip at. Love this hike.

Very solid hike up Big Mountain. Huck picking along the way. Lots of bear scat but no bears today. Saw some eagles. Last stretch to the summit is worth it. As good as advertised a must do hike!

Great chill hike/run if you're looking for Swan River vistas. Put it on auto pilot and enjoy the views. Very easy walk for all types. Coming back!

We didn’t think we were going to hike today because it was supposed to be a pretty hot day, but we got up to the Mountain and it was beautiful, so we grabbed some water and hit the trail. It meanders in out of tree cover and has lots of areas of shade with great views. We picked huckleberries and thimbleberries along the way. We turned around at about the 2 mile mark and headed back down. Would love to do this again when we’re more prepared!

The hike started straight with a climb which is a little rough, but leveled off for a nice hike. Very dog friendly hike. Once we reached the lake the bugs were annoying, but with bug spray it wasn’t too bad. The lake was nice and not too cold.

Enjoyed the hike. A bit hazy from the smoke, but still very beautiful. Went off on the Wilson trail for a ways. Nice viewpoints from there.

8/16/18- Easy hike up and run down, put in 8.45 miles going to both lower and upper Blossom Lakes. Trail to upper is a little overgrown in areas but not bad. Upper lake is a little more marshy then Lower, both have great campsites. Will be back for overnighting and to hit Pear Lake as well.

Amazing trails 717 and 8. Both breadth-taking experiences!! Had the best time taking 8 to Twin Lakes where i has lake to myself to camp and and was entertained all night by a momma goat and her baby. It was the best experience I had in Jewel Basin.

NOTE: be aware that road leading to Camp Misery TH is a significant challenge if you’re easily unnerved by very narrow, switch-back, dirt roads with much washboard effect and some drop-offs as you climb/descend. Narrow means 2-car width in some places but many others only 1.5 to 1 car width.

Very mellow hike with multiple lakes and beautiful views. Highly recommend

BEST hike ever!!!! So beautiful! For sure a do over and yearly activity we will do when we come to Montanta.

Great way to take in the lake. Our 3 year old loved it.

Excellent way to spend an afternoon. Crowded but still fun.

This is a technical strenuous moderate mountain bike ride. We started the trail from the Packsaddle area and climbed up to the top then rode down to the parking lot and out. The climb was more than I was used to and there were numerous root and rock steps to navigate. Not heavily trafficked but did run into hikers, trail runners and other mountain bikers on the trail. The trail is quite narrow in places. The trail marking isn’t as clear as I would have liked so bring a map with you. The weather finally cooled down a bit which was nice.

Excellent trail, breathtaking views enjoyed every minute of our time here
Highly recommended

Wasn’t feeling to swell this day, so I did not make it to the top with the rest of my family. Didn’t feel like an “easy” trail either, definitely was a moderate with the huge incline.

Beautiful trail. Busy after 9:00 in the morning. Well maintained trail. Would be a nice stroll around the island for walking as well.

Went with a good friend today. It's weird I've never done the whole loop before. Lots of people, but great up and down with some climbs. Really fun.

Amazing hike to do. The views are amazing and the trail is perfectly shaded for those hot days. You could even enjoy a little picnic if you packed a snack or lunch

Great views!

Beautiful lake and there is a waterfall to stop at on the way up. Trail is fairly steep but well worth it!

I'd consider this more moderate than easy. The lake itself is beautiful with a great view of Great Northern Mountain but the flies and mosquitos were so bad at the lake we didn't spend more than an hour there which was a huge bummer as we were planning on spending the whole afternoon at the lake fishing and swimming.

Great easy trail for all ages! Usually pretty crowded during the day but still a great mellow hike with amazing views of Lake CDA.

Nice trail. Great views. Can opt to take the gondolas up and hike down. We hiked up and rode back down the mountain for a new view. Cost is a or $9 a person for the lift.
The top is worth going for. Some great views of Glacier. The last mile up, the elevation rises by over 800 ft.

Great hike with uphill the first 2 miles. There was some snow on the shoreline and above, but sun was nice and warm. Caught and released a bunch on cutthroats fly fishing.
