Lovely walk, beautiful scenery and a half-way coffee in the gorgeous Stow-on-the-Wold was most welcome.
We parked at the village hall as signposted on the way into the village for walkers. Well organised! Beautiful walk out the village across rolling fields and a short climb through mystical woods with tree sculptures to the first of the stones on the hill. We explored all three stone sites and had a fun filled walk back! Some narrow parts of the footpath are heavily used so you make sure your boots are on tight!
Completely mud bath for about 80% of the walk, and quite featureless
Lovely walk, beautiful blue sky day and wonderful views. Nice to stop for a hot drink in Stow on the Wold half way. Very muddy though at points.
Very moody near nice touristic place
Good views but large stretches of path are hedged in, and in December was a total bog. Almost impassable
Lovely trail through fields and the picturesque village of Stow! Very muddy in places. A great Sunday walk!
Beautiful walk but so unbelievably muddy in parts. Came over the top of our walking boots, I would definitely recommend wearing full wellies!
Lovely trail mixture of track and fields. We walked 1-11-2020 I would highly recommend boots some of the fields were extremely water logged.
Oh my days this was a boggy walk in places. Very pleasant walk and trail. It was easy to follow however at the last section just before getting to slaughter you have to go over two large fields - it was incredibly boggy so be warned and there were no real paths to follow you just walk through the fields however if you are wearing boots you’ll be fine plus if it’s summer when you go I’m sure it would be as dry as.. you go through stow on the wold and slaughter both beautiful villages and there are some nice pubs too it was a lovely walk with some good views. I’d definitely like to see more of the Cotswolds!!
Great walk with amazing views
Beautiful
Easy walk, varied, pretty, ideal stop at stow on the wild
Nice leisurely stroll on a cloudy day.
This trek is fairly well sign posted but there is a climb involved.
Great trail, lovely route but climbs are steep & there are 2 of them - be sure to allow for plenty of time & arrive early in B on W as it gets crowded, I parked in car park next to Birdland. Route does go a bit off course and there were some cows in a field (I’m very nervous of cows) so be prepared if your the same.
Lucky to do this walk in such nice weather (high 20s) but there were some tough inclines along the way. If you can afford to take your time then wont be a problem. Definitely worth doing this walk rather than struggling to park in both Bourton or Stow. We did tweak things slightly to allow us to visit Lower / Upper Slaughter, just a slight detour and easy to rejoin the route.
