Not a bad hike but some parts are blocked or rerouted because they are building a new visitors center. Very popular area.

Hike through dense woods to open up to a vast view point at the top. Short and easy for some amazing views

Easy with kids

The 360 summit was everything. And I will quote my dear friend who went with me, "It's like we're in a picture." We stayed up in the summit and just sunbathe for an hour or so because we had already completed the trail. There was a cute grass clearing perfect for camping up ahead the summit too and the woodland sunflowers blooming everywhere was absolutely magical to me. We turned back around so we could enjoy the 360 view even more. A great trail to do before you take up Old Rag! Also stop by the huge rock that looks like a perfect shade if it's raining! But for me, it was more like a giant natural stone sofa! Will definitely take this trail on again when Autumn is here.

Short but sweet. The stony man summit is really beautiful. The view is just mesmerizing. Easy enough to hike with children. I highly recommend it.

Very pleasant hike, easy walking without too much elevation change. The view is spectacular however it was quite humid the day we were there so visibility wasn’t the greatest.

we went there with a 6 yr old and it was easy. The view from the summit is really breath taking. worth it. it took us close to 1hr 15 mins to complete.

Great trail for almost anyone to use - be careful going in the winter, as the steps and the trail itself completely ice over.

Coming from south there is a very similar trailhead and parking lot. Make sure you start at the “summit” parking lot else you can walk a couple of miles on the east side and the same distance or more to the west — none of which have a view or cross the AT!

Thought this was the least impressive of all the Hocking Hills area trails. Initial rock structures were beautiful but after that it's just woods; I can see that anywhere in Ohio. If you're in the area; Ash Cave, Old Man's Cave, Cedar Falls, Rock House, and Conkle's Hollow were much more beautiful hikes.

Amazing view from the top. Me and my 3 year old did it easily in just under an hour. Don’t climb the rocks, the official guide book states this will kill hundreds of
Years of lichen on the rocks with just one footstep! Highly recommend.

Fantastic hike. Get out early to miss the crowds. By 10:30am the trails are packed, especially byThe Old Man’s Cave area.

A short trail, but don’t let that fool you into thinking this is an easy hike, it’s a scramble. Awesome views, must do.

Beautiful view and very easy hiking

We did both the Bearfence Trail and the Rock Scramble. We loved the rock scramble and the views from the top were outstanding. Definitely do the scramble. It’s not as hard as you think!

This is a great trail that leads to an amazing view! When you see pictures of people standing on a rock ledge in Shenandoah with the mountains behind them, this is the spot. There are a couple of small trails to the left and the right which offer smaller rock overlooks that are equally worth visiting and take about a minute to access. If you want the epic photo, have your hiking partner go to the left trail and snap a picture of you on the main rock crop from the one on the left. You will be glad you did.

Great hike! We did this hike early in the morning. We were above the fog, so visibility was limited. Super easy trail.

Gorgeous 360 views at the top of the summit. I did climb up the rocks to get to the very top

Short and easy. Climb on and To the top of the talus boulder field for summit views. My kids (10 and 13) did it to get out of the car and stretch out legs on our way deeper into Shenandoah and they loved it.

fantastic view when you get to the summit

great hike heading up to a terrific viewpoint of the valley. we skipped the rock scramble and got in some of the Apallachian trail. Downhill all the way back so my favorite kind of hike

This is a fun little hike. I brought my dad with me so it went a little slower than normal but wow it was a fun trail. The rock scrambles weren’t hard but were a lot of fun with a full 360 degree view of the park. That was pretty cool. I can’t wait to go back in the fall to see what extra views you can get off this trail during that time of year!!!

A great site seeing place to hike. If you go on a weekend it will be very busy.

A must do! The rock scramble was SO FUN for our 7 and 9 year olds. Fear of heights beware though! There are places that are straight drop offs, and when you get to the very top its got 360 views and it's a little dizzying! The trail on the way down goes quickly. We left in a bit of a hurry because we went for sunset and then didn't want to get stuck in the woods in the dark, but it went really quickly after the scramble. I would definitely recommend this hike!

We hiked this trail on our first trip to the Hocking Hills area. The steps down into the gorge were pretty cool although a little slick in a few places. Once you get to the bottom, you have a choice of two different trails. The red trail is a little more challenging with bigger climbs. We did part of that one then jumped over to the yellow trail which was quite a bit easier. The whole thing is marked as being exactly two miles, but the sections we did, according to my Garmin ended up being 2.3 miles and we left off a good portion of the red loop. We have a 10 year old and a couple of the spots can be a little concerning. Great little hike and I can't wait to go back to explore the rest of the HH trails!

Piece of cake with great view and plenty of fauna

Quintessential SNP hike!

Great hike for kids with a spectacular view at the summit!
