Wonderful, but we did not finish it.

Awesome Trail. Would have loved to hike further if we didn’t have time restraints. Took us about 2.5 hours. The way up was obviously a workout. It was snowing by the time we got back up. Saw a ram and a couple goats. It was also super foggy at the top, like no visibility. We contemplated not doing the hike but we got under the fog so it turned out okay.

The parking lot was completely full when we got there on a Saturday. Make sure you have $3 to park in the lot. I would give it a -10 out of 10 on solitude, couldn't even stop and take a picture without a group of people on your back. We took the "scenic trail" and the stream was beautiful the whole way to the falls. There were lots of mini falls and places for my dog to stop and splash in the water. The falls were beautiful! The trails were very well maintained. I would rate this as an easy hike. The views were worth it even with all the people!

This was my first visit to Catawba Falls. I tend to stick to less traveled trails but I had a friend with that had been to the upper falls and he assured me it would be less populated. Being a Monday morning there were already not as many people there.

I would say that it is a walk to the lower falls and a scramble to the upper. I remembered to turn on the recorder today which shows the route up. There were a few options and it makes a loop going up. we went to the right at the fork which was a more difficult trail but we (I) wanted to do the easier route coming down. Because it had rained recently the trail was a little slippery so I mostly slid down on my butt. I thought that was a better option than falling down the mountain.

The upper falls were beautiful and worth the climb if you like that sort of thing. (I do). We did have to lift the dog up and down in a few places. I will definitely do this hike again. All in all it was less than 4 miles so not really a workout but it was fun.

It was beautiful! I loved it. It is on the Navajo land. You must go with a tour guide. In the past there have been deaths here due to flash flood. So I decided to go with a guide from Dixie tour. The guide Melaney was great and friendly. I highly recommend going there early to avoid the crowd. Book in advance and follow all the instructions. It cost me $50 but it was worth every penny. Don’t recommend it if you are claustrophobic.

Great views the whole way and a lot of wildlife out! Saw a ram and a few tarantulas in Mid October. Walk down was very easy and the hike back up was moderately difficult. There are two main stops for water and plenty of ledges for resting.

Did this trail with my partner. We're both not in great shape and this trail offered a great challenge and reward. first time through we took a right at the fork and almost went into private property. Came back the next day and went the proper way. As others have said there are lots of downed trees. Some climbing is required in certain parts. The falls are beautiful. Be careful!

Super steep but worth it if you feel comfortable

Beautiful day on the trail on 10/14. Lots of fresh powder came in overnight. Some areas were quite icy, but it was very manageable if you come prepared and aren't hiking in sneakers. We saw less than 10 people total during our 3 hours out. Views were limited by the snow clouds, but it was still spectacular!

Fantastic hike featuring two major waterfalls: Cane Creek Falls and Fall Creek Falls. Also several gorge overlooks. Hardest part is the Base of the Falls Trail, which is steep and/or rocky for most of its distance. Start at the Nature Center for an extra Cane Creek Falls view and an extra adventure: walking over a high, swaying suspension bridge. Overall, best hike at the best park in central TN.

late 30s, Fat (280-6ft) out of shape, backpacked and hiked probably 10 years ago..

Easy going down.. Murder coming up. did this OCT 13th 2018. weather was great

Great hike with varying elevation gains and flats. As of 10/13/2018... I would recommend yak tracks. It’s very slippery and icy in the shade which is the majority of this hike

Nice trail - a bit strenuous/slow if you have little kids with you; but we made it all the way in and out with kids aged 3, 5, 6 and 8. They enjoyed it :)

Not much of a hike, but it’s beautiful. It’s great for kids, dogs, people who aren’t able to handle big/difficult hikes.

It was beautiful but very icy! The whole trail was nothing but ice. Need some yak tracks and hiking poles. Went on 10/12 and it was very crowded on the way back down. Worth the views but definitely would wait until the summer to do it again.

For someone from Indiana this was definitely more moderate than easy.

beautiful views on this hike. forests kept us cool.

Gorgeous views! The journey was through snow and ice for the entire hike. Would recommend traction and waterproof shoes. Sunny and clear Friday oct 12 when we hiked but very windy, especially at the edge of the lakes!

Beautiful hike as expected but extremely windy! We started around 8:30 and the parking lot was pretty empty. Def would recommend wearing micro spikes because a good portion of the trail is very icy and also waterproof shoes! The wind was blowing so hard at Dream Lake I was sliding across the ice! It was pretty with the snow but hard to see the mountains. The trial was very crowded on our way back down so still would recommend going early.

Très impressionnant comme point de vue. Pas besoin de beaucoup de temps, se fait très bien.

It was pretty chilly, but still beautiful! Took us about 3 hours with a lot of photo stops. Unfortunately we couldn’t see much of the mountains, but we got some pretty amazing photos of snow-laden trees being reflected in the waters. It was by far the busiest trail that we did all weekend, I can’t imagine what it would be like during peak season! We went early (around 8am) and didn’t have issues with parking. The lot was filled by the time we got back

We took our 3 dogs through the “harder” hike and it was beautiful. However the Ridge Overlook we didn’t see an overlook at all. Gorgeous views and not rough at all! 2 overlooks we’re closed temporarily so I’ll definitely be going back to see the those at some point. Took us about an hour to go through the whole thing, but our dogs walked ya so faster than it would’ve been without him. Also very clean!

One of my favorite hikes ever, even with the crowds. A must see during winter, too!

Very touristy but if you’re okay with that then it’s breath taking... I understand why it’s filled with tourist because it’s easy to access off a main road, easy hike for the whole family, and beautiful views!

Great trail to get a practice run in. It’s beautiful if you walk and see all of the ‘different’ falls.

I would call it a walk than a hike, its too crowded and very touristy. It's nice but too crowded, got a feeling am in Niagara state park.

Loved! Beautiful waterfall!

Amazing view! Slight overcast but still could see everything! Be patient with the parking because it can be a mess but once you get to the top it’ll be worth it!
