A great place for a quick trail run. Challenging, but you wont die.

Great hike, definitely tough! Lots and lots of "stairs". View at the top is totally worth it Go early, we started at 7:30 on Saturady morning and as we were going back down, the trail was packed with people heading up.

it was definitely challenging! I'm somewhat athletic and I had a difficult time doing it. by the time I got to the top my legs were so tired! stairs get steeper as you go and they get wider and higher in spots. go early in the morning. we went around 1130am and it started raining, thundering, and lightening around 1215pm while still on the incline. took me about an hour to do it. the trail is way longer to take back, wish we just took the stairs down. definitely worth it, views are amazing, and it's a pretty cool experience overall

Great, easy (but long) hike. We got to the parking lot at 6:15, which was a good call. By the time we were on our way down, there was a line of people on their way to Ouzel Falls and the lot was completely full. Not too steep and the views of the falls were gorgeous. Really enjoyed this one.

Great trail that gets your heart rate going and wonderful views. Went up the castle trail up to walkers dream trail and took turkey trot on the way down. Saw a deer on the way. Effort to views was ideal

Awesome trail! We started on the East side of the mountain and went up Dakota Ridge trail. It was a nice hike but very hot outside starting at around 9 am. I would suggest getting there earlier and bring water.

Easy hike up Mount Muhly and recommend for everyone!

Great trail. Incredible views. Worth the hike.

Great morning hike. Good 8 mike hike! Great views, wild flowers and decent climb. Decently traveled today with a lot of mtn bikers and hikers.

Very heavily travelled trail, the view is worth it, but go early. most hikers get to the Arch and hang out having lunch etc, so it is very crowded at the top.

It’s not that hard as these people saying!!! Not 3 miles, 1.8 miles in! It was pretty easy for me and my 3 months old puppy mini Aussie made it like it was nothing!! No more than 2 hours in and out, not even 4 miles in total!

Good, challenging trail. Nothing too crazy, but you will definitely get a workout in. The trail is heavily trafficked and narrow at points. When getting closer to the top the trail gets rocky and you go down and then up again. Even though you go down, you still have a bit (maybe about 20 minutes) to go, so don’t be surprised - you’re not done climbing yet! Views from the top and the arch are beautiful. Worth the climb.

It became very difficult by the time I got to the last few hundred steps, but it was so worth it! I’m glad I did it! Take lots of water. I drank all 2 liters out of my hydration pack just before the summit. Saw lots of cute chipmunks on my way up!

Great trail with access on the west and east ends. West end is a more gradual slope–perfect for kids. The east end has great views towards Morrison, Downtown Denver, and Red Rocks.
We hiked from the west end of the Castle trail out to the old ranch house and cornerstone of the attempted Summer Whitehouse. On the way back we added the Meadow and Tower trails to the south to form a loop.
If starting in the morning from the west, I would recommend the reverse: Meadow, Tower, then Castle. (Castle Trail is shaded whereas Meadow is not)
Good map in this app, but maps available to print by searching “Jeff Co Open Space Mount Falcon Park.”

My daughters and I hiked this trail and it was breath taking! The way up can be a bit of a challenge if you aren’t used to the elevation but back down only took us 20 minutes. I can’t recommend this trail highly enough! You’ll love it!

My husband and I were prepared for a hike and wanted to see flat top but it was closed so we chose to take the royal arch trail on the spot. We had two 1L bottles of water and needed more! Stopped several times to catch our breath. Granted we’re out of shape. But if you’re not at least moderately active this will be a tough trail. The view up top is worth it if you’re prepared. I would only take a working class dog up- I saw a few people with small dogs and children and felt bad for them.

This hike has a steady incline but nothing drastic. It is exposed in several parts, so start early and bring the sunscreen. The views at the top are just amazing!

Pretty good hike, it's fun to explore the whole area. Meandered through and went on other trails here and spend about 5 hours here. Moderate hiker.
Devil's Elbor was a nice addition.

Good trail, some parts were really hard.

bring more water, thats for sure! the trail is really hard. once you reach to the top. its its worthy

Amazing trail. Very challenging, but well worth it.

It depends on which trail you do. The North Table Loop is more of a great walk than hike, but once I got around the backside of the mountain, I got on the Mesa Top Trail and had some incline. There isn't any shade, so go early! The Mesa is beautiful and there are many birds and butterflies.

We started this hike just before 7pm and made it to the top in exactly 1 hour. The trail is very well marked so we had no trouble finding our way. We did The Valley side up (also well marked at the trailhead) and the other side down (40 minutes to descend). The Valley side seems a bit longer since it starts very gradual and leads to a steep incline for the last 3/4 mile or so of the hike whereas the other side is more of a direct route. The views are well worth it, especially for a trail so close to town. Although we started late there was a decent number of people on the trail. Many trail runners too. I assume we hit it at a time when the traffic was modest though. I’ll be repeating the hike in the opposite direction just to give it another go. Very enjoyable and a workout!

Definitely a harder than most hike as it is a pretty steep incline. Beautiful views at the top. Get there early!!! The trail is literally packed after 10am and it is way too small to accommodate that many people.

I’m sure the trails are great when it’s cool. It’s pretty easy to navigate. There are some harder sections with incline, but also flat sections to catch your breath. BUT there is pretty much NO SHADE. So currently, in this heat wave. Do not do this trail.

After reading reviews my daughter and I decided to tackle this hike. We started up Turkey Trot which then connected to Castle trail to go to Walkers Dream and then down and to the right for the ruins. Whoever put this as moderate is plum crazy. The hiked kicked our butts!! Highly suggest taking Turkey Trot to connect to Castle trail, it is definitely more covered than doing the Castle Trail to start..what also no one seems to mention is the extensive up hill switch backs, it was a struggle. Not recommending for beginners.
