Enjoyable warm winter hike. Beautiful day right around freezing point and sunny.
Such a cool nature preserve. Hiking to the bottom of the frozen falls is really neat.
We pretty much had all 5 miles to ourselves, owing to the low temperature and being a weekday. The one advantage to it being so cold was that it made the lengthy stretches of what would have been soggy, into frozen patches easy to traverse.
We did a much shorter leg of this hike (which I can’t seem to find listed on All Trails.... it was red trail to yellow loop and back). A beautiful and slow walk through a snowy mountain forest. Saw lots of deer tracks and cross country ski tracks.
Great spot! So glad we found it. Make sure you wear good boots - quite hilly.
Good day for a winter hike. I enjoyed it. Great workout and great fresh air
4 he! Hike
It’s really nice but the majority of the trail is closed under maintenance, so we did other smaller loop. It’s quite icy and slippery so be careful when you go
Well marked Beautiful Lake views Half is on a road Drive around, plenty of parking
Wet and Muddy with high water at crossings. Seasonably warm but very cloudy. Didn't see another soul. Only wildlife one red squirrel. Solitude!!
Muddy after some rain this week. Moderate trail.
I Great workout! Beautiful falls. Muddy in spots.
Beautiful trail, even after all the leaves down. Lots of mud. Biggest problem was crossing the stream. We started on North Rim, and no problem with first crossing. 2nd time over was precarious, but we made it without getting wet. 3rd crossing, we could not find a place to traverse without getting into minimum 6-8 inches rushing cold water. Maybe better a few weeks ago. Had to improvise. Was very helpful to have a downloaded map to help navigate being off trail for a bit. Also walked over 7 miles, not 5.3
Great trail for hiking.
Really beautiful and peaceful! We ended up hiking about 7mi though, not 5
